Grettings! I have been wondering for some time now- which is better Piloted Sky Golem or Savannah Highmane? The reason I wonder is because Savannah Highmane summons two 2/2 minions which usually gets boardwiped while when Piloted Sky Golem summons it's 4 mana minion it usually survives. Atm I run both- 1 Piloted Sky Golem and 1 Savannah Highmane and I wonder if I should just start running 2X Piloted Sky Golem because my deck doesn't have a lot of beast synergy anyway. So what do you think? Is it better and why/ why not?
Highmane is very good in hunter because its a pain to kill and even if you do, it spawns beasts in which you can easily synergize with hound master, kill command, etc.
Piloted Sky Golem is even stickier that Highmane because 4 drops in this game are insane but its not played in Hunter because it lacks beast synergy and not played in most other decks because 6 drops is a highly contested spot.
Well like I said I don't have a lot of beast synergy in my deck. I have a Death-rattle hunter deck which just has 1 kill command and whenever I use Feign Death on Savannah Highmane they most of the time kill the highmane and boardwipe. That's why I was asking. But yeah 6 drops are valuable but my deck is all about sticky minions. I mean atm I have Savannah Highmane, Piloted Sky Golem, Sylvanas Windrunner - all 6 drops and for turn 7 I have Dr. Boom. I was wondering if I should just start running 2X Piloted Sky Golem when my deck relies so heavily on deathrattle. So I'd say Piloted Sky Golem is totally playable in hunter IF you have 2X Feign Death.

The guaranteed 2/2's are better than a random 4 drop eight out of ten times. Not to mention highmane has one extra health.
Why would you say that? the 2/2's usually simply gets boardwiped- easy kills. While when you get 4 mana minion it might have insane stats, let a alone the card text they might have.

Never run Sky Golem over Savannah Highmane, people might think you're crazy!
That's an interesting point of view. But I doubt that, especially when you only have 1 kill command as a beast synergy, Piloted Sky Golem simply feels a lot stickier.

Tbh I actually think that a while ago (when the Feign Death Control Hunter was run) people ran 2 Highmanes & 1 sky golem. In the current metagame that archetype hardly exists because it seems too slow. highmane is arguably a better card so people dropped the sky golem (for stuff like Dr. Boom in the current Midrange). However, since it seems you are having plenty of experience with it, who am I to critique. If you feel running them 1-1 then that's the way to go ;)
Actually that deck-style still works. My version has just been modified to slow the opponent down too via secrets ;) I linked the deck too for reference.

I run double sky golem and one highmane in my list because, well, it's more fun and a feign death list is meant to be fun to play. Highmane is probably better overall, just because of the health bonus.
I'd provably run 2X Piloted Sky Golem and Savannah Highmane but since I already have Sylvanas Windrunner the 6 mana spot would get too crowded. Also the 6/5 is better than 6/4 but average 3/5 deathrattle minion is better than two 2/2 deathrattle minions. They are definitely really close but I am just afraid to use Feign Death on Savannah Highmane because of all of the cheap boardwipes around.

I would run two [card]Savannah Highmane[/card] in most of my decks if that card was neutral. A 6/5 is way better than 6/4 and two 2/2s is usually better than what I was getting from my [card]Piloted Sky Golem[/card] There have been nerf requests to make [card]Savannah Highmane[/card] a 6/4 since he's that good.
