Kidnapper is okay in arena, but totally unplayable in constructed yes.
Cabal Shadow Priest can be one of the biggest tempo swing in the game. It's body is worth 4 mana -> MC a Gurubashi Berserker, you gain a minion that's is worth 5 mana. Not only that but your opponent also loses a minion worth 5 mana. All in all, you just payed 6 mana for 4+5+5 = 14 mana worth of cards. On average though you will probably MC a 2/3, which is a 8 mana move, not too shabby, still way ahead of the curve.
You pop down Archmage Antonidas into Lorewalker Cho. Now they can't Big Game Hunter unless they Dark Iron Dwarf or Abusive Sergeant, or whatever, probably you'll see some sort of nasty spell aimed at Antonidas. But then, whatever spell they aim at Antonidas, you get a copy of. Goodness forbid they want to play two spells that turn, maybe even spells that wouldn't destroy Antonidas, like Thoughtsteal or something.
It isn't just restricted to Antonidas either. Since you control the timing of the Cho drop, it can become a gigantic inconvenience - as much of an inconvenience as a 0/4 can be. Yes, you really probably don't want Cho in arena, but in constructed it's something you can try.
I'm not going to say "wow Cho is better than Ysera!" or whatever - but it's not like Kidnapper. Kidnapper just baffles me. Arena use I can see, but in constructed, hm.
If you see a post that you find objectionable, report it, it helps keep the forum clean. But be aware people are allowed a lot of latitude.
If you find my posts to be rude, objectionable, or whatever, well, I got tired of writing polite TL; DR (Too Long, Didn't Read) posts at crybaby whiners. So now I just make it short and nasty.
If you find that funny, well and good. If you find that sad, that's even better.
Yes, that would have probably been a good idea. It's fairly timeless topic, but it could have done with a fresh thread, not brought this one up from the dead. I'll leave it open cause it can be reasonably discussed despite being ancient.

I think this thread is a good marker for looking back at the constant changing meta.
Wasn't really a meta at that point, that was the day of the site launch, or maybe 1 day after. Game wasn't even in beta yet. :D
And we were such idiots, underestimating Mind Control like that. Only Xdega saw the potential I think. xD

I can't believe nobody talked about Nozdormu. Its the absolutelly worst card in hearthstone. I almost had a panick attack when i opened a deck pack with him...
" F*** you dude, I totally had another f**** shadowstep and another f***** coldblood in hand. muther F**** scumbag n00bs like you should stick to causal."
True Story, Bro.
After this I almost want to put it a my handlock deck to see if it works. You must had tthe laugh of your life :P
But i very rarelly play against rogues on ladder so its not worth it. I think the idea behind it is good and it can work. i just think that his stats suck. its 9 mana for a 8/8 body with an effect that affect both players. If he was a 4-12 or a 0-10 for 4 mana, it would be much more interesting.

XD. HeHe.
When this thread was made, was Mind Control only 8 mana xskarma (I only started with the open beta)? Or maybe I am getting mixed up with Pyroblast?
Both were 8 mana. Pyroblast was actually BUFFED not long after this thread was originally made, to 10 damage instead of 9. Pretty crazy to think back on.

Most of the cards mentioned in this thread have at least some amount of occasional situational "value," which might win you one game in the course of an entire season. I found it very interesting that Cabal Shadow Priest was mentioned at all, since it's a yeti (4 drop) plus any 2 drop, thus adding up to 6 mana (its cost), plus -2 mana and a creature for your opponent. The worst card, the card which has no value in any matchup ever, which is so unbearably unplayable that literally any other card would be better, is in my opinion Far Sight. There is no reason to ever use this card in any situation. It says "Throw me away for a chance at something useful." If it cost 0 mana, it would be Preparation. But it doesn't, so it isn't. Yes, it could potentially draw into a card which saves you at the moment. Or you could have just had two of that card in your deck and drawn it instead. In fact, Far Sight's only use is that it is an epic and can be disenchanted for the dust to craft a rare. Preferably something useful, like Azure Drake.

Hearthstone is a math game. If you think it's overpowered, do the math, compare it to other similar cards, and then if it doesn't all add up, complain about it being overpowered.
What about Mindblast, 5 damage to the face, for 2 mana in a priest deck
That card is actually really good when played in an aggro priest deck (not saying aggro priest is better or worse than other decks as I haven't tried it). So I wouldn't say that it is the worst card. It has its uses.
Millhouse doens't lose you the game if you can play him at turn 2 because most of the deck's will use 2 cards or overkill the card and is always a good way.
who wants to kill it really? :D turn 2 sprint, or pyroblast, etc.
Bloodsail Corsair is probably the worst card in my opinion
Is everyone forgetting about Wisp? Obviously the worst card. at least the worst vanilla card.
Feel free to add me in-game. I won't bite. Probably.
Check date before posting.
Can't believe that nobody has mentioned Kidnapper.
dammit, i was just going to say Kidnapper :D Wispand dancing swords are pretty bad too

Has Savagery been mentioned?

Getting a minion and removing a minion should cost significantly more than simple removal. Those are both powerful cards.
Not to argue raising the cost of MC to 10 was the best fix for it...
Far Sight just limited use cycling...
Wisp
Bloodsail Raider is the only pirate I ever see

I'm torn between Tinkmaster Overspark, Totemic Might, and Core Hound.

"Luck is a horse to ride like any other..."
Wisp is a complete waste of a card in your deck. Absolutely awful.
Milhaus Manastorm can lose you a game instantly when played.
