I´d prefer that over Chow 7 days a week and twice on Sundays. If I played Priest, that is...which I don´t.
But why not both...?
Maybe because it's a garbage, and Chow is magnificent piece of work? Just think about it - first playable dragon after this cost 4 mana. So what will u do with your starting hand - hold Hungry Dragon and mulligan other 2 hoping get Whelp? Or if you get Whelp at starting hand, will u hold Yshera? Or Azure Drake? Or will you mulligan your SW:P, Cultist or other amazing early game cards, hoping to get a high cost dragon? Because if u dont - this is 1 mana 2/1.
As long as there is no amazing 2 and 3 mana dragons this card is unplayable.
i have played around with this card and I really like it! I only have 1 Auchenai in my Dragon decks so Chows would probably just heal my opponent. And if this eats a silence, even better. Also, as this is a dragon it can activate Technicians and Corruptors even though you don't have any other dragons in your hand.
Someday, when we see an aggro dragonic priest deck that does not run nordeshire cleric but instead 1-2 chows and 2 twilight whelps for their 1-drop minion line-up this card would see play. It won't replace zombie chow because of how good chow is in a priest but also in general, but if we're talking about an aggro priest deck, having more 1 mana 2/3's would make the deck stronger early on. Also priests have such good value cards late game that early on kind of matters, so this baby dragon is actually pretty good.
How good chow is? Do people fail to realize that pulling of the auchenai combo is a 1 time every 100 games. and most other games chow just dies before it has done 5 dmg.
if you dont think the 5 damage matters cuz ur running control - well good for you. Still theyre the same cuz i will be running dragon priest so ofc it will activate its health bonus. or maybe ill just keep it in my hand to activate Rend.
oh its cuz u care more about early game board control so u dont care that u heal the enemy. Well i dont cuz i can heal and drop aoe turn 3-4-5 depending on what i run with and then hide behind a chow and my card advantage while i heal up and lol at the enemy >:D
Honestly this is a card to experiment with, but I feel won't be that good till the rest of the BRM dragons are out. But I do agree with the fact that there aren't enough good 2-3 drop dragons out there making this card awkward, not to mention it doesn't synergize well with Resurrect, not that resurrect should be in every priest deck, just that the other card priests get this expansion doesn't help much with this card. Arguably resurrect would be a better choice in a Dragon themed priest deck for the simple reason you can res some beefy midrange/Late game dragons for cheap.

Imo they should have made it 2/3, "If you're not holding a dragon, deal 2 damage to itself" because of resurrect.
I dont understand why Blizz added this into the game yet. They should focus on giving classes usable cards straight away rather than having to wait for them to release more cards which makes previously obsolete cards playable again.
This card probably wont ever get much play in the near future until dragon priest is a thing which might not ever happen for all we know.
I made a dragon priest deck just with the dragons we have now and I have found this card very useful. Much better than dropping a zombie chow late game and giving the opponent 5 health back. Cards like this really have to be played to be judged instead of just reading the card text If you just go by the card text it seems underwhelming on paper.

Make it a 3/3 or 2/4.
