Because the effect persists the whole game until the next dragon is played this is half decent. To squeeze the necessary value from it though would take running too many dragons for my liking though. Mid-tier certainly usable card.
Well pally dragons are thing. this definitely makes a dedicated dragon deck work (to a degree, have to see if a dragon deck is viable but the dragon cards are very strong). Kind of wish that this is a neutral so all the classes can make dragons work, like druid (ramp). But I still love this card and pally is one of my preferred classes to play.

druid don't need this , they allready have wild growth . It is one of the most favored classes to make a dragon deck work .

You don't really need to add many dragons really. Just replace the finishers with high end dragons like ysera, chromagus and azure drakes. With the consort itself, 6 dragons total. Add tyrion and basic early CC cards. You got a really good curve and enough draw
Yea kinda disappointed this isn't a neutral, but this might turn me into a paladin player for sure. The fact that you don't even have to have a dragon in your hand when you play this just makes this card all kinds of awesome. Automatic two off in any dragon deck imo.
Not to mention a 5/5 on turn 5 can wreck havoc on the field. And the sad part is that the enemies need to hold cards to answer the next innervated dragon.
interesting thing is that you can run 2 dragon consorts and 2 legendary dragons and just play your deck with total of 4 dragons.. why? becouse the battlecry stays untill you play your next dragon no matter when you do it. so you can just play that guy and once you draw your dragon it will be cheaper no matter what.
I really feel bad for this card not being neutral.
All these Pally haters... so jealous
Paladin sickest class from the start imho
This , and the other shaman card (fireguard) are just insanly broken . just think about the possible outcomes ... love it .

possibly the best card in the set, as far as dragon synergies go. very strange that this is a class card.

Time is money, friend.
If you play two Dragon Consorts before playing a single dragon, is the next dragon -4? That would set up some crazy possibilities with Chromaggus and Solemn Vigil, Hammer of Wrath, or even Divine Favor.
