Think about the proportion of spells that are actually useful on turn 10. There's a reason that there are so many unplayed spells, the majority of them are pretty bad (particularly in shaman and paladin). Ysera is powerful because most of her cards are deliberately overpowered, she can survive multiple trades, and isn't vulnerable to BGH. I can't think of a reason to run Nefarion instead of Ysera (and it seems too slow to run both).
This card is absolutely amazing, IMO. You say too slow, or BGH target, or RNG, or whatever argument you have, go away please.
But seriously, it has to be RNG if it's going to be class based, and I've always thought so. If it wasn't RNG, then it would either have to be bad, or else he'd be an auto-include in every deck as a counter to... every class. RNG keeps it interesting.
It's fine to ignore the fact that it has 8 attack and gets easily removed by an extremely prevalent 3-drop, but that's a huge problem for any deck trying to run fat minions, especially for 9 mana. It's certainly a lot more playable than something like Gruul (which does nothing when it drops), but as long as BGH is around even cool cards like Nefarian will be hard to justify.
I would only add this to a deck that is specifically designed to take advantage of spells. You know, a deck that already has cards like Mana Wyrm, Violet Teacher, Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Archmage Antonidas. This way even an otherwise worthless spell would be valuable.
Cool card for player who just started their collection and don't have access to all the fancy legendary as finishers. They'll just have to pay for the Blackrock adventure and they'll have a big dragon.
I would have been glad to have this card in my deck 6 month ago when i started :-)
Which, I would argue, is exactly the player base it was designed for.
I suspect that as we move forward, the adventures are where we're going to see the cards meant for newer players while the expansions are going to be where we see more of the cards meant for veteran players.
it's far more interesting and useful to find a way to make this card good than to complain about it or just say it won't see play. You may be right, but the players who end up ahead of the meta are the ones trying to make cards good.
Clearly it's a control card. No question there. current control decks are: Tirion Paladin, Standard Priest, Control Warrior, Handlock, Freeze Mage, Taunt Druid, maybe Miracle Rogue will come back. What decks could be most synergistic with spells of any kind? Probably mage and warrior, given Flamewalker and Wild Pyro, respectively. Miracle rogue would love this of course, if Miracle Rogue comes back. Priest could get down for this, but not particularly so. Taunt druid and Tirion Paladin don't seem to really have any benefit. Wild pyro + equality isn't really helped with more spells.
I'd try Nef in control warrior. I don't have the cards for freeze mage.
thiis card is so shit? there a ton of bad spells you can get for every class, you only get two and its a bgh target for 9 mana? Why would i ever play this over ysera or alextrasa? If he was 8 mana he could be okay but at 9 mana? This card is so bad and im really disapointed as i thought he would actually be playable. Why coulndt he give you some op spells like ysera why does it have to be random spells from opponent and why 9 mana there is already great dragons at 9 mana.
Sadly I cant, too many weapon support spells, demon support spells, even totem support spells.
Comparison#1 Nefarian has 8/8 body, a typical Sea Giant cost 6 mana. So that's 3mana for below average spells which may be horrible late game. Forget the 8/8s I'd just use the reliable Piloted Sky Golem.
Comparison#2 If Nefarian was a 8/8 that gave you only one specific card, Dark Wispers, and you can cast it for free, would it be better than two random spells in hand? I would say yes, then I cannot say Nefarian better than Onyxia.
It gives you a 8/8 and 2 cards. The 2 cards alone are already great. But you get actual spells from your opponent. This card can swing a game on its own, like ysera.
I mean common, the best feeling in the world is to mindcontrol a unit from priest without playing priest;)
You don't get spells from your opponent. You get spells from their class. There's a lot of very bad spells and a 9 mana 8/8 sucks.
Ysera isn't swinging games anywhere good players are playing.
Some hilarious things will come from this! What about Tinker's Sharpsword Oil and Blade Flurry stolen by a warrior... or Preparation stolen by a mage? 4-mana Flamestrike , 7-mana Pyroblast or Archmage Antonidas value...
In constructed, I doubt this will see play though. Too unreliable and he has stiff competition from the powerhouses Ysera and Alexstrasza

It's almost a free win if you get Sacrificial Pact against a demonlock:)
Is this a neutral Thoughtsteal?

New goal: Tinkers/Blade flurry a gorehowl

9 Mana 8/8 with pseudo-draw two/thoughtsteal? Sure why not!
This card will come down to what you can get out of it. But I have the feeling that lots of salt will come from this card.

Dependable loan sharks since 1960. We sink our teeth into every deal we make.
Objective: Sacrificial Pact against Lord Jaraxxus
What really happens: 2xSense Demons, playing Paladin. xD
It is random, but you can get a Totemic Might or something useless, but that is what make it balanced, no?
Which, I would argue, is exactly the player base it was designed for.

Top 5 Legend every season. Twitch.tv/vbsof
What if you get a double shadowstep and you play it two more times, haha.
Malygos value intensifies
This card won't be seen anywhere couple months from now. Man, BRM cards are so underwhelming.
I want to love Nefarian!

Rend Blackhand = the perfect counter to Nefarian
Playing the decks that already exist right now are a perfect counter to most of the cards in BRM.
