With every card like that, dragon decks will become more and more appealing. All we need now is a couple more viable dragons (still hoping for a class-specific Priest one).
This card is strong and pretty much confirms that dragon synergy decks will be a real thing. In particular I think these hold cards will make late game dragon minions more viable because now cards like Yesra, Onyxia, DeathWing, Mylgos etc will be giving you value just by being in your hand. The complaint with big dragons until now has been they that cost a lot and you may not see value from them, with cards like Corruptor that is no longer the case. I love this new card.
As for the comparison to Flame Elemental, I don't think that's going to be an issue at all because the 2 cards really aren't in any kind of direct competition. You're either running a dragon deck or you aren't. If you are, then you are committed to running a certain set of cards so that in itself is a limitation. Also, Bomb Lobber didn't RIP the Elemental so there's no reason to think Corruptor will. Besides I'm pretty sure Shaman is about to be a LOT stronger with the introduction of Lava Shock, so let's not pity the Shaman class just yet.
im the luckiest person ever to open ysera from a booster. i believe druid will be a strong class to play the new dragon deck. ysera is even viable on druid without the dragon synergy at this moment cause of innervate and ramping at general. in my head, cause i play druid a lot (its my main class) all this dragon synergy seems OP to me. this card is a strong hit to piloted shredder, so far the cards weve seen surpass the mech archetype in terms of power if you compare round 3 mech round 3 dragon etc etc. i believe that we will see 18 decent class cards which will help the classes in problems they have or give them a boost in their different archetypes but the main thing on the adventure is the dragon archetype. this is what will shake the meta not the class cards
Completely and utterly disagree that the dragon cards/synergy is OP, especially when compared to Mech. So far we've seen nothing to suggest that dragon decks are going to come out of nowhere to dominate the meta in the way that mechs did - I think they'll be viable, sure, and they'll definitely see some experimentation and we obviously have more cards to be shown - but from what I can see Blizz is actively trying to reduce power creep by making these cards certainly no stronger than the mech equivalents.
Like, Ysera is still too slow for this meta realistically, and I'd much rather not have to hold her in my hand all game just to get some decent synergy - and it is decent, this card is fantastic if you have a dragon in your hand but... so far? eh. We need at least 2 more dragon cards from the remaining neutrals.
Second thing here. Dragons. ARE. NOT. STILL. VIABLE. Not at least with the cards that have been revealed so far.
Finally, someone with a functional brain.
You guys claim that dragons are still not viable, but Azure Drake alone determined that to be lie.
It's pretty obvious that he meant a dragon tribal deck and not every single dragon in the game ever.
So tell me how many dragons would it take to make a card like Corruptor viable? Cards like Mad Scientist and Kirin Tor have been known to be perfectly viable even with only a minimum of 2 synergizing cards. I think it's safe to say there's at least ONE other dragon card that can fit into a deck, making it 2x Azure plus 2x any other dragon for a total of 4 synergizing cards at the minimum. Are you telling me that's not viable? Or are you telling me that there's no other dragons worth playing than Azure? What about Twilight? I think we can all agree that that is not a bad card for 4mana and could be reasonably worked into any class (other than Hunter).
a neutral Fire Elemental with a condition attached...ok. Seems alright, but nothing to get too excited over. Still waiting for the card that makes me say "Man, I have to get this expansion!"...so far, not seeing anything I can't do without.
blizz teases us with the less interesting half of BRM then totally sets the Hype train on fire by introducing insane stuff and everyone suddenly regrets that they ever had doubts about BRM.. -> less than 2 weeks from now

3/5 > 3/4 5/6 > 4/3 , this card auto kills shredder. how is that not better than mechs? the only thing mechs have is the snowballing of mechwarper. imagine how strong is fast druid right now (way stronger than mech mage) now imagine the same fast druid with 4-5 cards that are slightly more powerful than the already existing cards fast druid uses. i can only talk about druid cause thats the class im playing 90% of the time and i can say clearly that a fast druid deck with the new cards is OP as hell. if i substitute my 5 drops with 2 of these guys i have 2 utility "fire elementals" instead of my slow taunts. cause id rather kill something and leave a minion than drop a belcher which is now food for hungry dragon and is vulnerable to silence. if you play mechs you play shredder right? well shredder is so hard countered by this card and hungry dragon that your mid-game is already inferior than mine. not to mention that as a druid i can ramp and play higher at the curve youre playing. there is already dragon synergy, as someone said before you dont need 999x dragons to make these effects viable. moreover there are still cards to be revealed. blizzard is a company and they want this thing to sell. so trust me dragons will be more than viable

Except it's not "substitute my 5 drops with 2 of these guys" because these guys are not better than your current 5 drops unless you have a dragon in your hand. And you're going to need at least 6-8 dragons in your deck to make cards like this viable so you're going to have to substitute MANY more cards to make this viable.
I actively play Druid and little else too, and I completely disagree with you still. None of the cards so far will see play in Druid -as is-, as in, if BRM was to be released right now. We don't know what's coming, but it's going to take a couple of amazing neutrals to make dragons viable in Druid at least. And really, if the enemy is casting silence on my Sludge Belcher, I'm happy about that.
I'm not saying dragons will never be viable, but they aren't -right now- and they're definitely not OP as is.

dude its simple, when your opponent drops a hungry dragon on turn 4 you can play your belcher on turn 5. im posting on a forum in a netdecking web page so why on earth im waiting from netdeckers to see the reality. i already have 7 viable dragons existing and im waiting more as the adventure is further revealed. if you cant see value in dragon druid ( the only class which can play ysera 2-3 turns earlier) then idk what to say. after the revealing of this card you must truly be an idiot to believe that dragons wont be a thing
Hungry Dragon isn't going to become a staple 4-drop, for one. Just because I disagree with you doesn't make me an idiot, I've said countless times that dragon decks will be viable but I firmly believe -based on what we've seen so far- that they certainly won't be overpowered and they certainly (once the meta settles) won't be as prevalent as you seem to think.
Tell you what, come back to me in a month and we'll see who was right. Because so far I've seen nothing outside of this one card (and maybe technician, but again they both have an annoying requirement) that's suddenly going to make dragons amazing.

You need 6-8 tribe cards to make the holding cards viable? Or so now we are just making up bullshit numbers at random? Ok, I'll play that game. You're enemy must have 6-8 7atk minions for BGH to be viable. You must be running 6-8 beast for Skill Command and Houndmaster to be viable. You must be running 6-8 freezing spells to make ice lance viable. You have to have 6-8 traps for Kirin Tor Mage to be viable. You need 6-8 Force Of Natures to make Roar viable. You need 6-8 Eggs and/or Power Overwhemings to make Terror viable etc etc etc.
No, you don't need 6-8 dragons to make a card like Corruptor viable. You would need 4 at the minimum. I think you are grossly underestimating the chances of having that in your hand considering the fact that you mulligan through a total of 7-9 cards within your very first turn out of a 30 card deck.
This card is strong and pretty much confirms that dragon synergy decks will be a real thing. marine they are clueless netdeckers what do you expect. i have 2x faerie dragon 2x hungry dragon 2x azure drake 1x ysera and i wait more dragon cards to get revealed. i already have 7 cards for synergy, you cant imagine how stupid they will look with these posts in a month
Plenty of people run Harrison and play him as a vanilla 5/4 when facing non-weapon classes. That rarely loses you the game...
Except that Harrison Jones basically wins you the game if you hit the right weapon. Nobody ever runs him for the stats. It's just risk/reward, and the reward of 3 damage might not be worth the risk of a bad turn 5.
With every card like that, dragon decks will become more and more appealing. All we need now is a couple more viable dragons (still hoping for a class-specific Priest one).

Great value card. It combos with all the high mana dragon cards that you hold onto until late game.
Azure Drake sure is a great card, but it doesn't make dragons viable on its own.
How easy/difficult it is to activate the battlecry though? I think this whole "holding a dragon" thing is overhyped.
This card feels like Goblin Blastmage's retarded cousin.

dude its simple, when your opponent drops a hungry dragon on turn 4 you can play your belcher on turn 5. im posting on a forum in a netdecking web page so why on earth im waiting from netdeckers to see the reality. i already have 7 viable dragons existing and im waiting more as the adventure is further revealed. if you cant see value in dragon druid ( the only class which can play ysera 2-3 turns earlier) then idk what to say. after the revealing of this card you must truly be an idiot to believe that dragons wont be a thing
Because so far I've seen nothing outside of this one card (and maybe technician, but again they both have an annoying requirement) that's suddenly going to make dragons amazing.
i bolded the statement see you in 1 month xD
I think you are grossly underestimating the chances of having that in your hand considering the fact that you mulligan through a total of 7-9 cards within your very first turn out of a 30 card deck.
marine they are clueless netdeckers what do you expect. i have 2x faerie dragon 2x hungry dragon 2x azure drake 1x ysera and i wait more dragon cards to get revealed. i already have 7 cards for synergy, you cant imagine how stupid they will look with these posts in a month
