Threads like this just remind me of the dozens of Anti-Hunter threads that used to litter the place over a year ago. See what happened there? they went and made hunter MORE 'cancerous' after a brief nerf.
Do you think if they nerfed the roar combo, that Druid would then be left to rot and die off? Nope, they would bring something else to the class to make it work again.
The combo is what makes Druid work for the most part. They will not, and should not nerf it, just because a few butt hurt players can't beat them. The combo has always been there, it is nothing on the newer OP options for other classes. Why are you lot only crying about Roar combo now? Just tells me you're new to the game, and haven't a notion what you're ranting about. What next? cries for nerfs on Flamestrike? UTH? ... again?? Or let's go after Priest, that class has been stealing s**t far too long. Let's cry for nerfs on Thought steal, Cabal shadow Priest, maybe it's only allowed swipe 1 atk minions huh? ...
Silly thread. There's a rant one available for nonsense like this.
I don't have a problem with Druid combo, the problem that I have is with savage roar. This card should either be removed from the game or be nerfed to 4 mana, I feel the same way about bloodlust; it either needs to be removed or reduced to 4 mana. Savage roar and Bloodlust are essentially the same cards, I know many in this thread haven't pointed that out yet though because you guys probably don't care too much for shaman or you just are here to defend savage roar, but they are pretty much the same in most instances except one cost three mana and the other cost five but of course savage roar deals just one less damage.. I personally think that one should be removed, it does not make since for them to coexist and I really do not care which one gets removed.
When I think about it there a few instances when you can see the difference in the cards, these are unlikely but I'll list a couple anyways.
First example: let's say we have a shredder, a creeper, and a zombie chow on the board. That's 4/3, 2/3, and 1/2 stats and 7 damage
Savage roar: 4/3=6/3 2/3=4/3 1/2=3/2 your hero gains 2 attack, all of this goes from 7 to 15 damage
Bloodlust: 4/3=7/3 2/3=5/3 1/2=4/2 your hero gains no attack of course, all of this comes out to 16 damage
Like I said before savage roar deals just one less damage and now that I think about it I didn't have to make that little scenario it's pretty easy to tell. Anyways, savage roar becomes bloodlust if you hero power thus making it 5 mana. Savage roar is a little too fast of a card imo, without FoN Druids would be fine, the problem is that they have been using the combo for the longest time and most think they would be nothing without it.
So yeah I feel like one needs to be moved to 4 mana or just removed from the game, one extra point of damage is definitely no excuse for their coexistence imo. Sorry for the unnecessary example but I don't feel like erasing it.

Problem is savage roar. But making it 4 mana doesn't do shit actually. It should only buff hero and charge minions, not minions that are already on the board, or buff only non-charge minions. The fact that it can buff both is what makes the card broken. The mana cost is fine. But it will be nerfed eventually, they always nerf otk stuff. And i don't mind if they kill the card like they killed warsong commander, it woud be well deserved.
Especially funny to see suggestions about SR not buffing charge minions and etc. Do you really expect Blizzard to over complicate wording on cards like that? Seriously?
Druid needs this combo to become a class and not a deck currently like 15 of every single druid are the same always.. If savage roar gets nerfed and new druid good cards come out thd class could be more interesting atm it's just about the combo...
Can you please explain why you think force of nature is a problem? It is 6 damage for 6 mana that can't go through taunt. I don't see a problem with that card. Savage roar is too strong, not force.
By itself yes, it's a bad card, but this is exactly why I compared it to Warsong Commander which was exactly the same as FoN in balance terms. It's perfectly okay playing Savage Roar in token swarm decks for trading/lethal damage, but FoN allowing you to do it even in heavy control decks.
How can you compare Warsong to FoN? Have you ever play the old Patron Warrior? Same in balance terms?? FoN is always good and Warsong alone is nothing..
But the question is how should cost Roar? I say it must cost 5 mana. That's the point.
1) Allowing strong 2+ card combo? - Yes. 2) Nobody will play it without combo? - Yes. 3) Limiting future card variety for class? - Yes.
That's what I meant. And yes, I played this game before WC nerf, even since the alpha test.
But the question is how should cost Roar? I say it must cost 5 mana. That's the point. That made my day lol

THIS
You're quite right, but I don't think SR nerfing is the answer because "Combo druid" it's not entirely OP. But it's just my opinion.
So, what about 10 mana FoN with 5 charged treants? It's total 10 damage, no taunt bypassing Pyroblast. No combo anymore (unless reduced my thaurissan and innervated, in this case it's 22 damage).
people are still ranting on about this after 2 and a half years? What's the problem with FoN+SR ? there are decks that can wreck a combo druid, a combo druid can also wreck himself with some bad draws becouse it is still dependant on ramping AND staying ahaid on the board, i can't understand why people want to make druid as bad of a class as rogue and shaman, I mean, even in the older days of oldschool ramp and later midrange druid people included 1xFon and 2x SR to keep the deck playable, it's a freakin 9 mana combo that deals 2 more damage than 2x fireball and can't bypass taunt, if you didn't take care of the bord beforehand it's not anyone else's fault but your's 98% of the time (i will give you a 2% for those times when druid draws perfectly and you have a starting hand of 6drops and up).

Agreed and also Reno healling for 15hp = kappa
Mogor the Ogre Ogre Ninja Dunemaul Shaman Ogre Brute Work for me at the docks.
Or just make it doesnt affect hero, so combo is only 12, and double combo is 18.

Problem is Savage Roar.
The 6 damage from Force of Nature is not a problem.
In this case, Savage Roar dealt 10 damage, for only 3 mana.
Roar is good, but it's not the problem. It only acts as finisher, you don't profit from having it in your hand for the rest of the game.
FoN+Roar is a problem.
So let's fix it blizzard style: summon three 2/2 treants with "your other treants with charge have +1 attack".
Savage Roar would be undercosted if it belonged to a class which is naturally suited to aggro.
As it is, no problem.
