I returned to this game much like how a recovering alcoholic can relapse.
The problem isn't Boom, is that other legends are bad compared to him, but i believe Dr. 7 i a good example of what a legendary should be: something that really changes the game and brings extreme value.
And everybody got used to dealing with Dr. Boom anyway. If you are so much annoyed by him just use a bgh or something.
I dont think that Dr. Boom needs nerf, sure he is the most powrful legendary right now, but that will change, same as new content changed Ragnaros etc., but your "honest balanced" nerf is rly too much, i would like to see u playing a 5/5 for 7 mana. The deathrattle doesnt matter, cause the card is too expensive for its stats, has no immediate impact and can be silenced. 5/5 for 7 mana is just something very few decks would play, so at least dont kid us with your "honesty" and say u want boom to disapear from the game all together ot at least offer a reasonable nerf/balance, not this crap ...
I think it was Noxius, who had quite a nice video about boom and his suggestion of making him 7/5, so he can be dealt with without bgh or hard removal, which would be perfect, but boom will eventually decay with new content anyway so ...

7/5, battlecry summon 2 boombots that do 1-3 damage to a random enemy. Why not start with this? Boom is definitely not fine, anyone experienced (including the pros) know that.
The boom bots are the fun RNG factor in the card - people's salt over the possible 4dmg is lame. It rarely ever happens and they produce interesting trade turns and force consdieration of when to play what, whether to hero power first or spend some mana dumping trash in a hope to negate the effect.
If you want to nerf the main boddy out of BGH range, fine, but i'm not so sure that makes him worse...but whatver, 5/5 fine.
You can lose by rng and you can win so what is op? 2 bots for 7 mana ?

I don't think that many people disagree with the fact that Boom could use a nerf in come capacity, but your nerf makes boom so pathetic that it would never be played.
I feel like they need to create more 7 mana (legendary) neutral minions before considering that the Doctor may need a nerf.
Currently we only have 5 7 mana legendaries that are neutral of which 3 only fit into certain decks.
If we got more 7 mana neutral legendaries that can fit anywhere, but don't see play because Boom is just better, THEN we may consider a nerf.
Same with Shredder really.

I can attest that there is very little more demoralizing than Lightbombing a board to deal with Dr. Boom and eating 8 face damage for my trouble. The boom bots simply do way too much damage. It's really unreasonable for them to be able to trade evenly with Thaurissian or Loatheb. Nerf it to 1-2 and it's still very strong, but no longer unreasonably so. Heck, you could just make it a clean 2 damage and call it a day.

Dr Boom is fine. You need a couple of staple legendaries to make it easier for beginners to start their collection. I've crafted many legendaries that have turned to turds as new content has been released, and it happened with the first one I might very well have quit the game.

For all the people still defending Dr.Boom, either buff all OTHER 7 mana drops to be on the power level of Dr.boom or nerf Dr.boom. Very few reasons to actually play anything other than Dr.boom in the 7 mana slot because he overshadows them. Want to add Obsidian Destroyer? Dr.boom spawns with two 1/1s and guess what, they explode. Fearsome Doomguard? He can come out of the hand for free with void caller! Except he dies to one removal, Dr.boom can die but his boom bots live on to deal damage to the opponent. What about Stormwind Champion? He gives the whole board +1/+1! Except that he is a 7 mana 6/6 that needs two minions ALREADY on the board to get some value out of him. Dr.boom doesn't need a condition to be of value unlike Rend Blackhand. (I genuinely gigled when I thought about mentioning Wargolem, I'll refrain)

Dr. Boom is just really easy to play well in a lot of situations. That being said, it is a legendary after all. The only decks I consider him OP are mech decks, since they have synergy with the boom bots.
I think Dr. Boom should cost 8 mana for its current stats, be a 6/6 for 7 mana, have only one Boom bot, or have two boom bots without the deathrattle.
It is a devastating card to play when you are already ahead, however, there are better cards to be played when you are behind.
Legendary cards should be exactly that, Legendary.

Boom below 7 attack would be stupid, considering that he would then be out of BGH range and would still have a more than healthy body. Boom needs less Toughness, it is just too hard to trade properly into a 7/7, hence I agree that 7/5 is the way to go. Still in BGH range and a 1 for 1 trade for most 5-6 cost minions.
I don't think making him a 6/6 is really a nerf.
