the best idea i read here is maybe that the boom bots should explode on any character - my opinion.
but to be honest, it seems not so strong anymore - the 7/7 body isn´t the deal.
Sometime the bots wreck you, but sometimes they don´t..
So Hex and polymorph are low cost I win buttons against every minion? Dr Boom is the I win button, cause there is no efficient way of dealing with it. You lose out every time. BGH, polymorph, HEx, whatever. BGH+Mass Silence (Preist)....7 mana, and there are still 2 1/1s on the board.
The way a counter card is supposed to work...wait for it, is it is supposed to (surprise!) counter a card..meaning after using it it puts you at an advantage.
Well almost every minion with deathrattle is difficult to remove. It's not that the kind of thing that makes a card OP. Dr. Boom is only OP because boom bots can do 4 dmg. Reduce that to 3 and it's all right.

What sucks the most about Dr. Boom, is he is must craft cause of how broken he is. You are forced to waste 1600 dust on this brainless auto include card. He is the most pay to win card in the entire game, u are at a severe disadvantage if u don't have him. There is no substitute, and no counterplay, no card that goes into so many decks...aggro/midrange/control/combo whatever.
So, what would you all do if Dr. Boom DID get nerfed? What would you put in the 7 slot? Other than a few CLASS SPECIFIC cards there are NO good 7 drops. So what would you do? War Golem? No. A class specific? If you're lucky to have one. Just not play a 7 drop? That'll ruin your tempo.

If he didn't exist something else would. There has to be a solid 7 drop and atleast with this one you can only run 1 copy. What if there was a good 7 drop epic? Would you complain more because now you have to deal with 2 solid 7 drops? How about we just all stop crying nerf and learn to accept that Dr. Boom is here to stay. Oh, and btw, everyone can craft it so its not like its unfair... Why not cry about class specific legendaries, atleast then you would have something to argue about.

Dr. Boom is an auto include for such people that dont know how a deck works and put it in any deck. It's like Grommash on warrior or Tirion on paladin. It's a strong late game card and that's all.

It's contradictory to say that there are no good 7-drops, but if Dr. Boom were nerfed, there would suddenly be another broken 7-drop.
Yes we can all craft him, most of us had. I've crafted him, and hate it cause I have to. 1600 dust isn't a drop in the hat, and having to use it on Dr. Boom sucks.
As for other 7 drops, Ancient of Lore/War and Archmage Antonidas are good. Prophet Valen is usable in certain decks. Boom goes way beyond good 7 drop, he is the highest value card for mana cost in the game.
They realized they went way overboard with Dr. Boom, they can't exactly release a bunch of cards that are competitive with Boom for the 7 slot, would break the game. I'm glad they were a lot smarter with the legendaries in Blackrock and TGT.
I don't know if they will nerf Boom, but I doubt they make the same mistake of releasing a card far superior to all others in the future.
Maybe if we ever saw a nerf to Dr. Boom then Troggzor the Earthinator will see play.

There are good 7 mana cards out there. Just nothing as good a Dr. Boom. But if he was nerfed, all the rest would be better, and some would get play.
As for tempo being ruined if you can't find a good 7 mana card.
Well boooo fucking hoooo. Tempo dominates the game, and Boom and is part of the reason. Tempo takes a small hit and allows control back in? Seems like a double win to me.
Reynad mentions, without set restrictions, every expansion, decks will get more efficient and therefore faster, aka more tempo. It is true and Boom is a major culprit of the runaway speed that this game is experiencing. Boom doesn't exist, and tempo might have to play a 5 + hero power on turn 7, or even just a reasonably powered, non-OP, 7 drop would be great, slow the game down.
Really it's what every one is wanting even if some don't know it. Blizz even acknowledged that speed is out of hand and everyone is hating on it lately and they "want to get rid of it with TGT." Or so they say. They need to nerf Dr. Boom and Piloted Shredder to show they are even competent and on the right track though. Seems like they just don't understand what needs to be done, to get the results they so desire.
Drawing the Dragons is not better than Boom, far from it. You can't play them before Boom, cause they cost more. Even played after is terrible cause at that point, Boom and his boots are on board and will destroy your higher costing Dragon and still have a board left over, and a full late game turn of mana.
Heck even compare it to Tirion, the once strongest class Legendary in the game. Boom still wins by a mile.
Aren't class cards supposed to be stronger than neutrals? And Paladin is the minion class, presumably they should be able to compare right? Not even close.
Look at Eadric the Pure compared to Dr. Boom. Is it a joke? When I saw Eadric I thought for sure it was a sign Dr. Boom would be nerfed, how can you release a Class Legendary of the same cost, and have it be that much weaker than Dr. Boom.
Even Tirion Fordring gets wrecked by Dr. Boom, and Tirion costs 1 mana more. Can't play him after Dr. Boom, his Boom Bots alone will eat up Tirion and still leave a 7/7 on the field. And you can't play Tirion before since he costs more. The only way Tirion wins is if they don't draw Dr. Boom. Pretty crazy that the once strongest class Legendary, is now easily handled by a neutral that casts 1 less.
EDIT: Editing to correct spelling removes upvotes, learn something new everyday. Pretty dumb concept though. Some people agree and upvote, but change <1% of the post and upvotes removed, seems like there should be a better way.
It's been two expansions since GvG, and streamers still go through reasonings like:
"i could kill this and hit that and play this thing, but on the other hand it's turn 7 so i should play Dr. Boom"
The fact that all the incentive you need to play the card over anything else, in any board position is that you have 7 mana should be enough of an argument about how overpowered he is.
The only situation where Dr. Boom is not the best possible play is when you or your opponent are pushing for lethal.

Yeah it's ridiculous, like it is 0 mana: What the fuck was blizzard thinking? Wisp throws the whole concept of mana down the dustbin, it just ruins the game as mana doesnt seem to matter anymore. You can literally play 2 wisps any turn you want to for free. A card that can just neglect mana was a poor idea, and Blizzard should know it. Opponent plays Dr. Boom? No problem just play 2 wisps for free, and if you use like echo of mediv, duplicate etc. you can have even more completely swinging the game in your favour.

Dr.Boom needs a nerf because it its a must include in every deck, it makes a huge impact to the game after getting played, there isnt any effective way of removing him without preventing the effects and he also is very RNG. I would suggest to make him a 7 7.5 and boombots deal 2-3 dmg.
