Hearthpwn

Given Blizzard's history, nerfs almost always come to cards that are played in every deck. Dr. Boom is an extreme example of this. Whether you agree that he should be nerfed, I think there is a high probability he will be.

So, if a nerf for Dr. Boom comes along, what do you think it should be? Blizzard will probably just raise it to 8 mana.

My idea: Just make Dr. Boom summon the Boom Bots as a deathrattle, instead of battlecry.

Why wasn't Loatheb nerfed then? Not exactly a forgone conclusion.

Even if his attack is 'nerfed' to below 7, that's almost a bonus moving him out of BGH range... If they do anything it will probably be a health reduction to 5 or a 1 mana increase. Making him a 7/5 ensures hes still vulnerable to BGH and able to clear other large minions worthy of his 7 mana cost, while still being vulnerable to many spells and minions.

They shouldn't.  He's not op. 

I do agree, he isn't crazy OP, but he is definitely strong. But just like Auctioneer, it wasn't OP either except in one deck type. I can see them making a small change to him, but if they don't it isn't a huge issue either.

 Wow! That one is really good. It makes the bombs a lot more situational and overall a lot less useful. They kinda become really weak nerubian's.

Would you agree that he is the strongest 7 drop in the game right now? He's strong in every situation and he's used in almost every deck. I've often see him in both aggro Hunter and Mech mage even.

The problem with buffing cards is that it's hard to make it equitable without making people feel bad. If a card gets nerfed, they make it so you can disenchant for full value and not regret crafting a card that was made worse. If they buff a card they can't really let you craft it for disenchant value.

For example, if Flame Leviathan is buffed and is now a must-have and I disenchanted mine weeks ago, I lose 1200 dust and there's no easy way to make that up to me.

He isn't really all THAT overpowered just make him a 6/7 instead t lower his power very slightly cause that is honestly all he needs to be balanced

Edit: as stated that would make him immune to bgh so maybe health to 6 instead

I don't know why Blizzard should be concerned with that situation. You should know when you are disenchanting a card that the card may change in the future, and you won't have it anymore. They shouldn't have to "make up" anything for anyone disenchanting cards just because they don't like having cards in their collection that don't fit the current meta.

I have a question for everyone that thinks Dr. Boom is OP... If war golem did not exist, and there wasn't a single 7 drop in the game that compared to Dr. Boom, would you still consider him OP?

I'm just curious why people think this card deserves a nerf. You guys do realize you can only put one in your deck right?

Whenever a card is considered to be the strongest for its mana cost in the game, it's generally OP. Whenever a card is run in 90% of decks, it gets nerfed by Blizzard. Nat Pagle, Sylvanas, etc. Leeroy Jenkins also received a nerf at one point. All of these cards can only be run as 1 of's as well.

I don't think Dr. Boom is op, I think that up until GvG release the 7-spot in most people's decks was lacking and Dr. Boom filled that spot flawlessly.  He is extremely strong don't get me wrong but his cost is what makes him so widely used.  He provides a very good amount of pressure one turn before some of the bigger harder to deal with legendary cards hit the field.

That's actually a very good point. There really were no strong 7 drop neutral legendaries pre-gvg (all that comes to mind is Baron Geddon). Boom has that kind of feel to him that up until now, only cards like Ragnaros filled. I'd like to know whether Blizzard sees Dr. Boom's popularity as the result of being one of the few strong 7 drops, or if they feel he's removing diversity from Hearthstone decks.

Dr.Boom is pretty nice but op? Really hard to say! 

Blizzard likes to wait and see if players figure something out themself, time will tell.

The problem is to nerf could make him useless (hello Nat Pagle/Leeroy). At least buff Flame Leviathan if your going to nerf DrBoom -.-

He seems on the verge of OP'd to me.  Lets break him down;

For 7 mana you get a 9/9 worth of stats.

On top of that you have 2-8 distributed damage that is nearly impossible to silence.  It's very RNG but it can be damage to the face that bypasses taunt.

The immediate board impact can turn board clears into a very painful cast.  The 7/7 body that boom leaves behind will often need to be dealt with with removal.

If not dealt with the bombs can be buffed by a variety of classes, druid or shaman being one of the best classes to take advantage.  

It's a pretty powerful card and it's being used as a finisher for both control and aggro.

But the question I'm asking is what if no seven drop existed besides Dr. Boom. The main reason I have seen complaints about Dr. Boom is because of war golem/Flame Leviathan. Besides, Rag is the probably the strongest 8 drop in the game, and it hasn't seen a nerf. Loatheb is run in almost every deck and neither has that gotten a nerf. Oh yeah, not to mention sludge belcher. That guy is an auto include in everysingle deck, no nerf so far.
