I got Mimiron's Head from Unstable Portal while I already had 2 mechs in play. One of them was the 2/1 with a deathrattle that gives a spare part. When Mimiron's Head triggered, the spare part I got was the one that switches attack and health, so I made Voltron into an 8/4 and won the game.
I don't remember the rest of each game, but in two back-to-back ladder games I got Sylvanas and Loatheb, respectively. I even got to Duplicate Loatheb. I got these while playing my Frost Giant deck with Echo of Medivh.
I put unstable portal into my freeze Mage, and I got malygos, next turn the game was over... Malygos+ Frostbolt+icelance= KO, and alexstraza? Ain't nobody go time for dat
i got the rockstar legendary guy, was like "meh" never seen it used, but a 5/5 3 mana is cool so whatev, played it, saw crazy board animation for 1st time, was pretty stoked, then both of us got cards which i didnt even know about, mine said "summon a random horde warrior" or something to that degree, so i originally assumed he got the same thing, he played his very next turn, it said summon 2,3,or 4 1/1 murlocs, he summoned 3, i used arcane missles right after, hit all 3, none hit face, decided to use mine, cairne bloodhoof, immediate concede
Is it only me who think these "random minion" cards should stay away from other class cards? It seemed "fun", but for me it takes away the flavor from each class, and makes a stupid mess.
I can accept stuff on the board andthoughtsteal as a priest specific, but that should be it for class mixing.
Well, my very first arena game when GvG cards were put into arena was mage and I drafted an unstable portal.
In the very first game I was able to play Unstable Portal early. Like turn 3 or 4. It drew me a Ysera and from that moment on, I was in love with the card. On turn 6 I was able to play her and the value she provided made that first game a faceroll.
I also managed to pull Deathwing a few games later and he was able to bring me back from the brink and won me the game with style. Those were my only 2 legendary cards that arena run and there were a few games I never got to play it at all. However, not a single minion was a disappointment. The worst one I got was an Abomination and it actually worked out extremely well because I was able to play it turn 3.
Since then I've drafted it a handful of times and I think I can honestly say I've only had one real dud of a card, which was Starving Buzzard. I've pulled some 2 cost minions like Knife Juggler and Bloodfen Raptor and honestly, I'm not even sad when I see those. The card is just wonderful and I'm looking forward to having some real fun in constructed with it. Unfortunately I'm still focusing on arena to build my GvG collection so it'll have to wait a bit.

I don't think it ruins the flavor at all. They are freaking mages. They should be able to summon anything. In World of Warcraft a gnome mage, I can't remember his name, accidentally summoned Jaraxxus and ended up dying violently.
Some of us have never seen some of these cards played. My brother the other day summoned an elite Tauren Chieftain from his portal. It was a blast listening to his story and how much he was laughing.
I have felt that mages are one of the weaker classes. When a priest can mind control anything they want I don't think Unstable Portal is even close to being a bad idea. I can see your point though. I might feel the same if there were a lot of cards like this.
I haven't experienced the new mechs that drop random minions when they die. Do they drop other class cards?
The fact that it is called unstable portal and can be very rangy makes it a blast to play. I however don't know if it will be nerfed. Man some of these cards it pulls out and then costing less mana can just be nuts.
I don't play mage very often but I played unstable portal 4 times and got 4 different murlocs so far^^
I think this card is legit, it gives the game more favour. Like allready mentioned.. Priest can get anything too and hunter can get Malorne from the Webspinner ;)

Who can take your trash out? Stomp it down for you? Shake the plastic bag and do the twisty thingy, too?
I play 1 copy of unstable skill in my mage deck and yestd i got first a rag that won me the game, then a mal'ganis in the next game that i unfortunately didnt play cause i won before the turn i could play him. Unstable skill (skilled portal) = OP

I got 2 in arena and they admittedly carried me through a 12-0 run some were duds like target dummy and so many webspinners but others were like turn 2 portal turn 3 scar or get a Tirion or Onxia seems pretty good.

For me, recombobulator, piloted sky golem, piloted schredder and sneeds old schredder on top off unstable portal and thoughtsteal mix up decks and classes too much.
I think it is lazy, bad game design, I like much better unique tokens like Thaddius, spare parts or dream cards! The game needs boundries and style, every class should not spawn every minion!
So what is the coolest outcome you got from unstable portal? How was the situation and how did it play out from there?

Wielder of Botsbane, The Slayer of That Which Has No Life.
Just had this happen a few minutes ago. I won, obviously.
I wouldn't call it obvious unless it was Zoo, but that's an awesome outcome. Perfect Fireblast target!

Nothing spectacular, T1 coined unstable portal into a 6/6 Van Cleef :) Good times

I used unstable portal four times, here is the results: Target dummy,Loatheb,Jaraxxus,Target dummy
Winter is coming.
Tirion, a mage with ashbringer is just glorious. was in arena too.

Arena against a mage:
T1: Mana Wyrm, T2: Unstable Portal, T3: Coin-> Prophet Velen...
Right... but wait there's more...
T7: Unstable Portal, ... , T10: Mekgineer Thermaplugg (from portal).
I gave it a valliant shot (with plenty of misplays...) but yeah, tough luck.

Got Sneed's Old Shredder, played it turn 5, it got killed and summoned Al'Akir the Windlord. Was well worth it!
