What do you think about the random casted spells from Puzzlemaster Khadgar ? I often have the problem that not the best spells possible are casted... For example I had a game were my opponent had 1 life, I had only 2 cards left in hand and the wisdomball casted Arcane Intellect... I won the game after 3 rounds because my opponent could heal back up to 13 and it was really close because of this bad decision. A simple dmg spell to face would have been better.
Or I had the situation => Opponent has 30 life and a 8/6 Minion on board and Fireball was casted @face...
Is this how the card should work or do you feel they should check this card again/buff it?
It’s very inconsistent. I only used it in a deck because I got it in a pack and sometimes the enemy has a big board it will cast Blizzard which is perfect. but then I got them to 1 hp and wanted to test if it could pick up lethal and it casts a secret? super weird
the card says "...cast some helpfull spell...", doesnt say "cast the perfect spell"... so sometimes AI of the game reads it might be, helpfull to draw a card to find lethal or put the secret dat if the player drops a minion deal 6 damage...
i really doesnt play it so many times, but it allways feels pretty good, its like YOGG sometimes you highroll other times does nothing for you...
i had a game that i was playing odin warrior, and they cast against me a blizzard, and 3 frost bolt or something like that and i could not finish him because i couldnt attack.
if they change the AI card to be better they need to nerf it! less stacks on weapon or higher cost of the card, because imagine if allways does the perfect thing? its 6 turn in row that your opponnent cant do shit, 1 turn blizzard, 2 turn blizzard, 3 turn a secret that kill a minion or counterspell, 4 turn fireball, 5 turn i dont know... frostbolt or taunts or fireball because your opponent cant do nothing for the last 5 turns. its like a super insane value card..
i feel like the card its in right place and even if sometimes doesnt do the best thing, it allways give a lots of value!
I really tried to play it like Zephrys the Great because I thought its working like this card. With Zephrys the Great you could manipulate the cards you got offered so I was thinking for example "If I get my opponent really low, a frostbolt/firebolt should be casted because it is helpful in this situation.
But you are right, helpful and most helpful/best is a difference...
They clarified the logic a bit before launch. It does not act like Zeph, and was not intended to. However, it should be more helpful than the Wisdomball from Dungeon Runs was. It has a set list of spells it can cast. It first evaluates which of those spells “might be useful” based on certain criteria. Then once the ball knows what spells might help, it rolls to see which one it should cast.
In OP’s two examples, bad luck on the roll to decide the spell seeing as damage spells would have definitely been in the mix with an opponent’s hp at 1. Then again, I don’t think it decides based on where the damage should go. As seen in example 2 where the Fireball went face instead of the 6 health minion. This makes it seem like it randomly chose the enemy target after randomly rolling Fireball to begin with. So it wouldn’t automatically choose a damage spell to face for lethal. I mean… could you imagine if they made cards that just eventually ended the game?! (*cough*WHEEL!!!*cough*)

I faced this the other day, don't encounter it much it casted about 3-4 frostbolts in a row against my low cost minions. I had to laugh

It's always blizzard when my opponent plays it and I have full board. Very consistent, best card in set.
the card says "...cast some helpfull spell...", doesnt say "cast the perfect spell"... so sometimes AI of the game reads it might be, helpfull to draw a card to find lethal or put the secret dat if the player drops a minion deal 6 damage...

Hey everyone,
Thx for the response and Input.
I really tried to play it like Zephrys the Great because I thought its working like this card. For me it usually does "cast 6 frostbolts"
Add in a layer where Khadgar says "What would you like me to do?"
Options could be:
That way it's still random-ish, but closer to Discover functionality, which'd make it more useful.
It is op the way it is, don't make it 2vs1 game...
It dont think. Just cast random spells at random enemies. Good as it is.
They clarified the logic a bit before launch. It does not act like Zeph, and was not intended to. However, it should be more helpful than the Wisdomball from Dungeon Runs was.
