10/10 with life steal and all it needs to do is sit in your hand for a 30+ damage OTK. Plenty of cards that summon a board of minions. It's just too easy to buff this card. Quite ridiculous that it starts at 5 damage instead of just 1.
Use to love my Malygos deck. Actually took straegy to pull off a decent combo. Seems pointless to run now because now you just play Sire Denathrius for an instant 30 damage + lifesteal without having to do anything
No it's not. You don't even need to do anything besides delay the game to get use out of it. It gives you wins that you didn't deserve to win just because you have it in your hand. You don't even need any other cards to pull off the OTK. A decent Malygos combo you need at least 3 cards for and usually need to reduce the cost of those cards some how.
There is sooo much disruption these days that Denath is very vulnerable and one card can shut it down. It's fine.
lol no. It provides instant damage with no drawback. Far from being vulnerable
given the fact that you have to draw it AND keep it in hand for so many rounds...it is not at all that instant as you say. in fact, it is far from it and you have SOOOOO MAAANNNYYY disruptions to use before it charges up
And if you consider Sire Denathrius as too OP, then what about Mecha'thun? you don't even need to have it in hand. you can draw that card at the very end of your deck and still use it to win the same turn...
First of all C'thun was already outdated and weak. As for Denathrius, needing to draw it early isn't it's only drawback if you want to OTK, it's also that you need your opponent to have an empty board, unlike Malygos who doesn't care about minions.
Firstly if you don't run it, it can't be stolen (and thief decks are incredibly popular right now)
Secondly, putting it into every single deck is just bad. Yes it's a great card and it can fit into a lot of decks, but it's not as OP as a lot of people make out it is, if it was then it would be in absolutely, every single deck.
it's not in any of the warlock decks, and they're all good. It's not in Naga priest (also very good) Big Beast Hunter is cutting it in a lot of cases (although this is one deck where I still run the card, as we don't have much board clear and the heals are great)
Since the OP combo with Kael'Thas has been removed for all but 3 x decks (Relic DH can still Bran/Den because they can reliably reduce the cost of cards) Ofc ramp Druid can do it later in the game due to having more mana crystals, and Shaman can get the same results in other ways, albeit over multiple turns. I don't think it's even close to being a problem any more.
Yeah it's a good card and it can win games, it's not as bad as people are making out though, especially since not everyone can double it up in one turn any more, only 2 decks can do this now
The problem is not denatrius himself, is the sinergy with the 20 mana druid, the way It can sumon a lot of tokens while draw, gain armor, board pressure....
Its way too opresive bcause of druid in the others classes its an average card, in shaman is cool 2 bcause of the parrots but thats all
If Denathrius is getting that charged up, it's not the Denathrius player that's delaying the game. It's YOU because you're running some BS greedy removal quest priest or some such deck, thinking you're just gonna run out the clock on the other player.
I wouldn't say it's OP but we can all agree it's a meta defining card. You have tools to counter it, such as Theotar, Zul'jin, Mutanus and maybe even Okani.
Whoever says Denathrius is not OP is just crazy. It's in every best deck of the format. Beast Hunter - plays it. Demon Hunter - plays it. Druid - plays it. Shaman - plays it. No matter what class you play against - in most games you just lose to him. It's like Mr Smite before nerf, but more obnoxious.

Beast hunter plays it because beast hunter is top of tier 1 maybe tier s, but it’s a fail safe if multiple krushes and hydralodons don’t finish the job first. Druid and shaman are special because they can abuse it and it’s their primary wincon. DH, druid and shaman also aren’t top decks in the format. The best build of imp warlock doesn’t play it, naga priest and bless priest don’t play it and those are the top decks behind BBH. Demon hunter and mage both run it but often don’t play it and they are sitting solid mid-tier 2. Theotar is a bigger concern because he is everywhere and he actually gets played.

10 mana cards need to be pretty strong.
I don't even run the card in a lot of decks.

mechathun is not an autoinclude in every control deck. (deathrattle)
detath even in zoo could be work. (battlecry)
love denath but few removal and situational.
denath has no drawback, this is the main problem.
Yes I think it is bull when you can play Denath more then 1 time. I had a rogue pulling Denath 3x on me.

Also Denath with Brann should be forbidden.
