So i just finished a game against an OTK DH who had an empty board on turn 10 as Demon-Render Kurtrus. They then play Felfire Deadeye to discount their hero power and play Expendable Performers to trade into my board. The card only summoned 6 of the tokens but 6 more spawned after they died which i thought had to be some sort of glitch. I then looked up the card and apparently it’s just the way the effect works but my question is why??? The text states it summons 7 tokens and if they all die, summon 7 more. The card doesn’t imply that the secondary effect would trigger without meeting the requirement and seems fairly clear on paper until you see how it functions in-game. If it said “summon as many 1/1 Illidaris with rush as possible” instead of 7 it would make sense but that’s not the case
The card text makes logical sense. It says "summon 7 Illidari. If they all die summon 7 more". So the text states that 7 Illidari will be summoned and if "they" - the Illidari - all die 7 more will be summoned. No where does it say 7 Illidari must die to summon 7 more just that if all the summoned Illidari do die the secondary effect will be triggered.
It's the usual Blizzard bad wording. They meant "fill your board with Illidaris with rush", but they're incapable of translating the effect into word. It's like they never even thought that the board might not be empty. Yes, the way it's worded right now, there should be no second wave if you don't have 7 Illidaris die.
Y its bad wording despite what some people say, but think about the freeze effect too. There is nowhere that says that if your minion does not attack during its turn and gets frozen then it can normally attack next turn. You have to figure it out while playing and then it makes some sense since the freeze is supposed to stop a minion action for a turn and since that lost a turn (by not hitting) then it is free to move. However, making sense after thinking a bit and being as intuitive and clear as possible are not the same. Blizzard as to make things more clear in the future and adjust old cards too

That's how it works... so you summon just 1, it dies, summon to fill the board again (being 1).

Fill your board with 1/1 Illidaris with Rush. If they all die, fill your board again.
Love the card...
"Enjoy your final moments."
"Vengeance!"
