No , is not a tier 0 deck, is not broken, is not the best deck in the format.People are overeacting again.... im not even seen them very often , like 10% of the games. I believe it is flooding dumpster mmr , just like every good deck after release. You guys are just crying about every deck , every season. Please stop ( I don´t even play the deck, i jsut like when we get new decks ) "Feeling" shouldnt be taken account when trying to balance a card game.
It's not about feelings but about being able to play a gamemode without having any form of control or midrange decks destroyed because the meta is warped by a overtuned otk deck that is also breaking the game animations for god's sake. People cry everytime sure, but sometimes there is a valid reason. This deck, Atm mage and similiar stuff make the game unfun for everyone that isn't playing them. Otks are fine, they make a meta healtier when they are not this easy to setup and play. Otherwise it becomes a rush to either kill your opponent by turn 5 or be killed by your opponent on turn 5. Also now it has become darkest hour 2.0, so yes if it's predecessor was nerfed, this will be too
The problem is that the last 10 games I played against Stealer of Souls, 9 of them pulled off combo by 7th turn. OTK decks are fine so as long as there isnt consistency, but what deck would've countered such situation?
And technically not dead? How the hell do I come back from this situation?
You don't, you will be dead next turn for sure. But how is that different from a Pirate Warrior coining out a Cannon on t1 then playing a pirate that summons Patches + two 2/2s from hand and then proceeds to kill you on turn 3? (btw, the same Pirate Warrior would also obliterate the stealer of souls deck)
In any case if you are playing a greedy slow deck that has no counterplay against Stealer of Souls so when they draw their combo they will beat you. Wild is full of extremely polarizing matchups. But looking at your deck, it seems like you play mill Rogue. How is it possible that against an opponent who always has 8-9 cards in hand by turn 3 or turn 4 you haven't managed to mill them and win before they go off with their combo?
I am sure the deck will get nerfed sooner or later and it deserves to as it leads to a very unfun play experience, but it is far from broken in terms of actual powerlevel
People defending this deck fail to understand a simple thing. Ok, taken, Pirate Warrior and Aggro Druid may kill you even faster - BUT - they dont run through their whole deck, playing 15 cards in a turn, hoping to make it in time to finish you off. That should not be possible, just like Mage and Druid. They really need to be extremely careful about reducing or changing costs in cards because in the end, Hearthstone is not MtG, there is no instant spell and stack or w/e to counter things, like blasting Soul Stealer when he drops or countering Arcane Aligenment (traps don't count). What do they do, they drop Anacondra, Spring Water, Incanter' s, Soul Stealer etc, already having nerfed Kael' Thas because of the same problem. That's just really, extremely, almost unforgivably bad card design. If the card development team can' t handle it, bring some Pro Players in to share their wisdom.
That Rogue deck has no comeback, but a Reno Shaman who had played Ice Fishing the turn before can now play Firemancer Flurgl into Toxfin. A control (DMH) Warrior can play Risky Skipper into Lord Barov. Both very situational, but theoretically game-winning answers to such a Stealer of Souls board. That's the difference between 'technically' not dead and being actually dead: there can be some (however extreme/remote) comeback possibility
We’ll be banning Stealer of Souls in Wild in a small update next week. Stealer of Souls will still be playable in other formats, and will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks after this change goes live.
ahahahahaha easiest 800 dust in my life (golden stealer of souls)
