Even if you pick overload option in Guidance, Unbound Elemental does not get buff from it. Does someone know, if it´s intentional, or why it works like that, or is it just a bug, which should be reported?

Can confirm it wouldn't tricker as an overload even before the patch. Seems like it isn't an overload card, but a card giving you an overload option, which won't tricker it
Does Runic Carvings trigger it? That's another card that HAS an Overload component, but it's a choice and not a default aspect of the card. Which, if that's how they've programmed it, seems a bit silly. Why not just have it be "When you Overload" or something.
According to the wording, Guidance is not a card with Overload. It overloads one mana, but it shouldn't count for the elemental.
I see a big fat "Overload" on it. For other interactions, it does not matter if the feature is chosen or discovered.
What about Tunnel Trogg?
? I know the wording is slightly different, but they should trigger the same way. "Whenever you overload mana crystals" would remove any doubt.

The wording is different so it should not necessarily do the same. You can trigger an overload without playing an overload card, in which case Tunnel trogg would trigger but the elemental wont.
I was surprised the first time i discovered it doesn't work as an overload card, but other conditional triggers works the same way
Guidance is in fact a card with overload, so by the wording Unbound Elemental should trigger. But that just one of M A N Y bad wordings and oversights from these useless developers :)

In the same way that a Corrupt card is not the same as a Corrupted card, simply having the word "Overload" on a card does not mean that playing that card is "Playing an Overload card."
To use a different example, Crabrider now gains Windfury from a Battlecry. So it is a Rush card (so it will continue to gain buffs from Parade Leader and be in the pool for Athletic Studies and Stage Dive), and it is now a Battlecry card (so it can be discovered from Blazing Invocation). But, despite having the word Windfury printed on it, it is no longer a Windfury card, so it won't contribute Windfury to Corpsetaker.
It is not a bug. 'A card with Overload' is supposed to be a card with a printed, 'naked' Overload. This card 'gives' itself Overload in a way. This is basically the same reason why N'Zoth doesn't resummon an Unearthed Raptor. I know, this kinda makes no sense since intuitively, this is an Overload card.
And for someone who asked: Tunnel Trogg says 'whenever you Overload' so it counts Overloading mana regardless of how you Overload.
You can discuss word order and context until the cows come home, we all know that overloading a mana crystal regardless of how it happens should trigger unbound elemental. Anything else is just a level of nit-picking from team 5 that is not evident anywhere else in the game. Shamans have it hard enough without this bullshit.

Well no. The cards does what it says it does. It doesnt matter you think it should do something else. I wouldnt be opposed to they change the card text to match Tunnel Trogg and thereby change the effect, but a card should do what the card says it does

Hearthstone does differentiate between "An X card" and "When Y occurs," and it has done so for years. True, there are a relatively small number of examples of these interactions, but they do exist, and they are meaningful distinctions.
I agree that Unbound Elemental ought to have its wording changed to function more like Tunnel Trogg (in activation condition, but not buffing for each crystal Overloaded), but as it currently stands, Unbound Elemental not triggering from Guidance is correct according to the wording.

You're right, I'm not debating the wording is technically the reason the cards don't synergize. In a simple game like HS though with such a niche mechanic exclusive to one class, overloading a mana crystal should be overloading a mana crystal. In my opinion if the keyword in on the card in bold either make them synergize or just don't use it.
Working as intended. Wording is the key, this is the same as choose 1 and choose from cards.
The choose from do not count as choose 1 cards and thusly don't interact with choose 1 effects procs.
I doubt it's an oversight by blizzard so much as a comprehension and expectation problem of the player base. However, if enough players are vocal I'm willing to bet Blizzard will change it.

Sounds like one of many bugs this patch.

Can confirm, happened to me. Most definitely a bug.

I think its more an oversight than a bug. But i think it definitely should trigger it

Spaghetti code Blizzard thinks guidance is not a pure overload card you choose overload
It is evident elsewhere in the game. See my previous comment describing the Corpsetaker/Crabrider interaction, or TheArcanist236's example using N'Zoth, the Corruptor and Unearthed Raptor.

The choice causes the overload. Not the card itself. I don’t know if that is intended or not.
such salt much BM.
