Core set is always going to be a temporary set. You will never own a card that has the core set symbol, because the next year it might not appear in the core set. To check if you have a card from the classic set (or any other set from wild), filter your collection to display that set.
If you dust classic cards, you will lose them in wild once the cards rotate out of core set. So basicly, you cant be sure that you wont lose them.
Tbh, we pretty much all have a whooole bunch of cards we will never use in decks. Even if we have to recraft some of them in the future, dusting them for something actually useful is likely a good deal.
As for the core set, they want us to be worried about dusting, and introduced the Classic format encourage us to keep the duplicates. The worst ones could be dusted no problem imo.
But won't I be able to use the golden ones if I dust the non golden?
Yes but if they rotate next year then you would have to craft it again.
So if you have two copies of Ysera, the golden core set and a normal one, you can dust your one and use the core set version. If Ysera rotates out next year and you want to continue to use the card, you would then need to craft it.
At least that's my understanding. I've generally stopped dusting cards for a while now so I've kot really looked at how it works or done it but that was my take on it from the info that came out when they announced it.
If you are referring to the golden cards from the Core Set, you cannot dust the regular ones without losing them next rotation. But if you are referring to the golden cards you get in the reward track from Forged in the Barrens (etc. Mor'shan Watch Post and Primordial Protector), you can safely dust the normal dustable versions, as you will always have the golden ones.
First you must ask yourself two questions: Are you ever planning to play Wild? Are you ever planning to play Classic?
If you answered yes to either of those, be very careful about your dusting decisions.
Now ask yourself some more questions: Do you care about future achievements and related rewards? Do you care about other game modes like Tavern Brawl and Duels (and possibly Mercenaries)?
If you answered yes to those, you need to be very careful about your dusting decisions.
If you answered no to all, you may dust expansion cards and Classic cards you are sure you don't want, but be aware that it will cost you if you change your mind in the future.
You cannot dust Core cards (regular or golden), and it does not matter at all. You never truly owned them, and they will always be made available to you whenever they are part of the Core set, even if they are removed one year and return the next.
Think of it like a pool hall. You may bring your own pool cue (expansion cards), but the tables and balls (Core cards) are just on loan. They will always be there for you to use, but you cannot take them with you or sell (dust) them.

Hi guys. Could someone with better knowledge of the game than I help me understand one thing:
With all these new rewards of golden cards that can not be uncrated, which cards can I dust without losing them in any format (standard, wild, ...)?
This new core set made me confused 😕
Thanks, and if possible, it should become a pinned guideline.

pick 2-3 classes that you play and dust everything from other classes
