Deck of Lunacy has become Standard players' worst nemesis because the pool of random spells is alarmingly reduced. However, DoL will always be a meme card in Wild, as the pool of spell is humongous.
One alternative to make Deck of Lunacy playable in Standard is to transform all your spells into wild ones, regardless of playing Standard mode. It would be fun and interesting to see wild spells in Standard in this specific scenario.

What do you think?
I believe this would defeat the purpose of having the 2 formats be split in the first place. Toki, Time-Tinker was okay because it only gave you one, but having a near deck full of em would be too crazy.
Prior to the actual nerf they chose to do, many people were thinking of ways to change this card but retain it's design, and I think someone did mention this.
I personally think that would be pretty funny, and it wouldn't be the first time that wild cards were brought back to standard, in a somewhat controlled way.
Alternatively, if the card simply changed all your spells into random ones (even just standard still), then reduced the cost, it would still retain its design but not allow people to build their decks to try and get more of a certain result.
They could have done the nerf differently, but they went with the tried and true mana cost adjustment. Perhaps if people continue to complain about it we might see a different approach.
