Remove his demon tag, average his stats for the cost, and make his corrupt effect just his base effect so Y'shaarj can't copy him. Having just one of these is more than enough for the combo/control matchup, he's problematic because of how many of these you can get a game, and then you still have to deal with an over-statted minion multiple times. I mean I play a wild mill rogue and I'm even in awe at the raw mill power of this card.
I do not think it's OP, but I am sure it is quite problematic, due to frustration it can bring (even if it's not so frustrating to me). Like, many whine threads exaggarate problems, but it is definetely a sign of 'being problematic' if there are so many of them, and I think that saying Tickatus is completely fine despite the amount of players there are who are not ok with it is exaggaration too. However, I would myself prefer if Tickatus would be unchanged, because I do not feel said frustration against it myself.
Feels like it doesn't require any timing. When you rat or Loatheb you have to time it properly to actually use it as counterplay to combo decks. This guy, you want him out asap just so you can make full use of your second or even third copy.
Never should've been released in the first place. Combo decks losing to rat was one thing, but losing randomly to gnomeferatu for example, that was crap. And this guy is both anticombo and anticontrol because of how many cards he actually burns. The only thing keeping it down is warlock itself not being in a great spot.
I really don't like Tickatus in its current form. I'd change it so you could only use it once in a match - this way it could even discard more than 5 in a single time.
Tickatus isn't even OP in my opinion, it's just such a depressing card to play against. As someone who mains control decks it just feels terrible that my opponent can just auto-win against me with a single card. It's not OP, it just feels like fucking garbage to play against.
I love the card, however I was not able to build a competitive deck around it. It’s not so oppressive even when I face it; I’m usually happy for my oponent to succesfully trigger the combo.

I mean that's only if you let them copy it multiple times. This really only applies to priest and paladin because they need board presence to apply pressure and they're super slow, but most classes can burn out a Warlock deck that is being THAT greedy.
Also an infernal not being a demon would make no sense. I think the best solution if they need to nerf it is to reduce the number of cards burned, then you need to copy Tickatus multiple times to get the same effect, but the card might lose a lot of impact that way.
I changed my opinion. Tickatus is bad for the game.
It has spawned how many nerf threads so far? Despite being generally underwhelming, not even beyond what other decks could do (Mill Rogue, Togwaggle Druid) and really more of an example how unfun endless stalling is, everyone apparently thinks this is the most unfair card/effect of all time and needs to get nerfed to oblivion before lunch time, or else.
Tickatus is bad for the game, because it's too much for the community to handle it rationally. Maybe Blizzard has a point when they say that some things could "confuse" too many players.
Tickatus should be neutral. Everyone having access to a card so powered for a single class may change the balance of the card a lot. Using it as a staple like silence and weapon removal cards. This one would be a disrupt neutral card and change the cost to 8 or 9 at same time, cause even if mana cost is nerfed if still on warlock class will still be hard to play against, doesn't matter wheter turn u are, 6-8-10 mana this card will still be broken if locked in one class to have access to it's effect, a class with lots of removals and tools to keep going each turn.
The meta is probably as bad as I’ve ever experienced. Literally ALL the decks are either super aggro and you win or lose depending on whether they hit their curve, or bullshit highroll decks that basically win if they draw a certain card and lose if they don’t.
Tickitus isn’t even close to being as big of a problem as this. Can’t understand why people are upset about having 5/10 cards of their deck removed on turn 8 but they’re ok with Paladins having a full board on turn 4, Shaman having three 3-drops on turn 1 or Mozaki Mage OTKing you on turn 5, whilst their only other matches are against decks with insanely high power levels that aim to punch them in the face for 6 turns until the game is over.
I personally don't mind it. I wouldn't mind it being nerfed either, I wouldn't say no to free dust since I barely play it anyway.
The way people on this board (only those who comment, seems like people who vote are less mental, talk about the silent majority there) have some major issues recognising what a good deck is though, holy hell. You know why the devs haven't nerfed it yet? The answer is because tickatus is only present in the worst (literally the worst) decks in the game. That's what y'all whining about, decks that are beaten by the vast majority of meta decks.
Also a gentle reminder that "my experience was so and so" has next to no value, because that's not how statistics work. Your feelings are also not how a card or a deck are judged to be good or not. Because if we went by "but muh experience"...since tickatus was introduced, in the hundreds of games I've played, I've been tickatus'ed exactly twice, and once it was by a priest that'd stolen it from me. Wow, it certainly must be nerfed, how can I always bump into it every other game? Oh yeah, except I don't. Funny, that.
People who mention Rin as an example of a "fair" card must be either dumb or in horrid bad faith. Rin was played during the control warlock mirrors as the win condition and she was basically a "tech" choice before and mostly pointless after the nerfs. And this was back then, in a vastly inferior, slower meta, in which warlock had actual control tools. Rin obviously has never been playable in wild because she's insultingly slow (no, your cute funny meme decks don't count) and Rin would see exactly 0 play in today's meta. If you call Rin a fair card then all you're really saying is "I don't want my deck being distrupted ever" (because the chances of playing Azari are exactly that: never) while trying to sound more fair about it. Just admit it and move on, goodness me.
(...) But the problem with Tickatus is it can even crumble other gameplans quite easily.
In that regard, what's the difference between Tickatus and any combo deck, that can OTK you on turn 6-7 (like Mozaki Mage)? Is Mozaki OK, but Tickatus not? Why so?
OKay first of all, Mozaki is nothing like Tickatus and nowhere near as strong as Tickatus. Second, The difference between Tickatus and any other combo deck is that it specifically counters a handful of gameplans with little to no effort. Yes, you can beat it with control decks, but you have to throw in cards like Archivist Elysiana and hope you draw it before it gets burned. That's extremely unhealthy.
Mate, are you drunk? "tickatus" only decks are basically control warlock/quest warlock decks which are all in tier 4. Actually, they're the worst and second worst decks in the game, right now. Want to guess where Mozaki mage is? The third worst deck. Isn't that a wondrous sight. All of this bitching and whining about some of the worst decks in the entire game is simply astonishing.
Crying babies. Tickatus is just fine and i think that as all-player. When i play deck with it sometime is very cool to mill other dude, but sometime you just dont have opportunity to pull him out. In late game you often dont have free 6 mana to pull 8/8 (which is good in stats) that does nothing than mill. You often needs mana for removals just to stay alive and you need quite long set up for pulling him in right moment. Also when i play against it, lot of time i won just because my opponent pulled tickatus, milled me 5 cards (Yay!) and i killed him on my turn. There are bigger fish in the sea...
I would love to see what kinda decks people that find Tickatus to be a problem play. Tickatus decks are very slow so I simply cannot imagine how awfully boring and slow these decks must be if they're constantly losing to it.
Also at what ranks do you people play if you meet so many Tickatus Warlocks? I've been playing last couple seasons from bronze to dumpster legend and I've met only few of them. I also watch streamers that play on high legend and over there literally no one plays Tickatus Warlock. You know why? Because it sucks! It gets eaten by pretty much anything before it can do anything.
Yes, card does have a nasty effect, but it's well balanced by how slow it is. So if you keep losing to it, then problem is not the card.
It isn't as slow as you make out. I regularly have over ten cards remaining after the first burn. Sure, the second one usually comes down when you have 5 or so cards left but I've generally seen that as a conscious decision by the player, to burn my last 5 cards.
You and many others have completely missed an important point, it isn't that its over powered and super competitive. It's more that it's incredibly polarising. Either your deck is way too fast for it and you crush it or (at least in my experience) you don't have a pre turn 10 win condition and it absolutely punishes you.
I'll say it again, for what seems to be the hundredth time, it isn't that it is too strong, it is just miserable to come up against. The free second one feels rubbish. Maybe not to you, good for you but to plenty of people it does. I play most of the month at legend or platinum and as someone who enjoys matches that last past turn 6, I use a deck that reflects that and in all honesty, I pretty much exclusively play battlegrounds at the minute and that's a mode I barely ever touched but between Tickatus and weapon rogue, it's one of the rare times I genuinely find the game unfun.
Thankfully there is duels, battlegrounds and even casual which I'll flick between until the next expansion which I'm really looking forward to.

So losing up to 5 random cards from your deck on turn 8+ is more severe than being dead on turn 6? Sure, that makes perfect sense...
But what exactly is the difference between Tickatus combo and any OTK combo? You talk about it, but you haven't explained it so far...
...

Love Tickatus! Ruining some devious combo plan is probably most satisfying thing in this game.
Win a match = nice thing.
Ruin someone game feeling + crush persons mood = orgasm.

Tickatus is fine. Warlock is fine.
it's bottom class by winrate. I really don't see why people are upset with the card.
Like someone above me mentioned...

Tick should lose demon tag and corrupt tag, that's all.
OP in wild.
Who knows what secrets we'll uncover?
No more tickets!

Mozaki OTK kills you by turn 7
Demon Hunter OTK kills you by turn 8-9
Aggro Rogue kills you by turn 7
Yet, somehow, the community cannot deal with a turn 8 play with no immediate board impact. Look within, hearthpwn, look within.
