You are missing a card in your collection, but you dont want or cant craft it and no one plays it anyways?
Behold! In some random event you or your enemy get it through a random card or action and it makes you win.
And BAM! Now you meet enemies who use it in their regular deck and/or enemies generate it through random events and make them win. All... the... time...
(yes i know, everyone got its own micrometa, and you mr smartass and you knowitall crafted it on day one and are using it aaaaaal the time, but I NEVER saw that card in action since yesterday!)
The current candidate is The Nameless One.
Dont ask me (you arent anyways), but it feels like they want (edit) us to craft/use it.
(edit) I explicitely point to the fact, that all this started after a RANDOM generation, not someone building or testing a new deck. FROM MY POINT OF VIEW with several hundred matches per month.
Who are you arguing with? Being proactively defensive may not be necessary here.
It looks like The Nameless One hasn't had an increase in play in December. You may have personally started seeing it more often, but in the overall world of Hearthstone, its occurrence has remained consistent. It doesn't look like there is a conspiracy by Blizzard to trick people in to crafting/playing the card. It also looks like the card has a sub-50% win rate when run in a deck.
What instance did The Nameless One end up being game winning here? Did someone copy and silence a paladin minion with a bunch of librams on it? Copy/silence a Rattlegore to get a 4/4 that deathrattles in to an 8/8? Without describing why you're upset, this just seems like you're screaming in to the void about a card that, from all appearances, isn't really all that good to run in a deck.
*sigh* In real life i got a resting bitch face and strangers think im angry with them. Guess there is no difference in the virtual world.
Also english isnt my native language and this forum interface makes me mad. Might influence your perception. Im fine with it, since its not the first time and i learned to not care about it. In real life it lead to interesting conversations with strangers and free beers. ;)
Im not upset. Im just reporting my experience. And i think it was worth the report because it happens to me pretty often.
Me or the enemy generates a card i have NEVER seen in action and VOILA, now i see this card on a regular basis.
Yes, i account it to some kind of matchmaker manipulation, because its just too prominent to just be a random snowflake, But im not complaining. Just saying what im experiencing.
Last time was Cho. Havent seen him seriously played since YEARS. But as soon i added him into a fun deck, i saw him MANY times after. Either randomly generated or enemies who added him actively into their decks. While i might play "a couple" more games than others i really dont think im that meta bending.
Or Mana Addict. Mana Addict is 110% NOT meta in MY world and experience.
maybe it's something psychological as well - Nameless One wins you a game, and suddenly it becomes a memorable card and future times you run into it you are reminded of how it won you that one game, which leads to you remembering it being played more often and as such creating the illusion that the card is somehow being manipulated into appearing more in your games.
it's the same with RNG - I always remember when RNG fucks me in the ass and loses me a game, but I rarely remember the moments I get lucky / steamroll opponents entirely because they're unlucky. maybe it's just the human brain being the human brain

Sometimes a famous youtuber/streamer plays a deck that features a card, leading to its increased play.
Yes, thats why i sometimes let the rope burn, because im checking this and other sites to learn the "new" deck my enemy is playing.
Im always smiling at salty "mimimi they burn the rope" posts. ;)

That's Incredible!
your feeling is correct according to this guy that has read some documents on the blizzard game techniques
To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffer!
