Make it 8 mana so it's harder to Corrupt, or make the effect Symmetrical as the mod suggested, it also fits with the mechanic in the set with symmetrical effects
The one thing people always seem to conflate (imo) is lack of fun (for the opponent) vs. overpowered. A card can be no fun for the opponent but be rubbish, or it can be overpowered but not necessarily un-fun (faceless corrupter pre-patch springs to mind).
There's nothing fun for the opponent when you play Tickatus (once or multiple times). Sure - it might not win you the game (or it may help the opponent depending what it destroys), but the opponent can essentially do nothing about it, and they may lose right there and then depending on the deck they chose to play. If Tickatus decks consistently do moderately well, you can say goodbye to two whole deck archetypes – control and combo - as both are essentially auto-win for the Warlock.
Maybe they felt there needed to be a “counter” to the C’thun decks (which also have potential to fall heavily into the un-fun category imo). Problem is, there’s already a counter to C’thun decks and they’re called aggro decks.
The argument can always be made that Tickatus wont see play...too slow...yadda yadda. People made the same argument for glide as well (which is also a very un-fun card to play against). While that might be true, it also might not be true. No one knows - not even Blizzard, because they don't create the meta unless they print stupidly overpowered cards that warp the meta into a “deck - counter deck” situation (which is potentially what Tickatus will do if a viable deck can be found). If you’re a developer and you’re relying on that really un-fun card that you created not being played because you think you made it a bit rubbish, maybe you should re-think your design strategy. Just don’t print it and think up something else.
What I think you can say for certain is that the card is no fun to play against and imo there is no place for a card like this in Hearthstone.
A card game should be about decisions – what you put in your deck and how you play what you put in the deck. Tickatus removes both (one figuratively and one literally) and does so in a way that neither player can really influence. Not exactly a great combination in a game which already struggle with limited interaction between the players.
As he currently stands I agree with the suggestion he should also remove the warlocks cards as well. Maybe that would kill the card, and maybe that’s not a bad thing…
p.s As an aside I release the notion of fun/un-fun is very subjective, but if we assume that the very least you would like to use the cards you chose to put in your deck I think Tickatus ends up being un-fun.
The thing is whats the point in creating cool new achtype and strategies when they also make a card that just destroyes your opponents deck and completly bypass your opponents strategy. You also forget that Tickatus makes Cthun completly unplayable cause it mills the spell parts. A card like this is not healthy at all. We have a control deck that its entire purpose is to grief and dissrupt other controls decks. As a control Priest player i know that Tickatus is an auto lose for me cause im not able to beat him quick enough. If other control decks are not allowed to exist as long as Warlock is around then we just have a super aggro meta again. Ofc not every match is against Warlock but i pretty much have no choice then hard teching against warlock at this point. Im legit thinking of putting Nomi in the deck so when im comepletly milled i can go for a full 6:6 elemental board.
Yeah Tickatus completely warps the meta, In all of my control decks I have Archivist Elysiana and hope to draw it before it gets milled or keep it in the opening hand whenever I face Warlock. Now imagine if Zoo becomes more popular (surprised it hasn't so far) then it'll be a coin flip to what you should mulligan against a Warlock. I am one that has a sort of love-hate relationship with Aggro decks, but I for one do not want an almost entirely aggro meta just because of one card even merely existing.
I’ve both played Tickatus decks and against it (the mirror truly is a clown fiesta) and I think playing him again via Y’sarj is the main issue. Milling 5 cards whilst frustrating isn’t too much of an issue as vs warlock you’ll often be similar in the fatigue race. 10 cards or more is a much bigger problem though. There aren’t too many big cards that are viable to play to corrupt him (soulciologist is by far the best but most 7+ warlock cards are pretty jank) so he does often sit in hand doing nothing. He’s of no use vs aggro but really is a priest killer.

Nomi isn't a bad shout haha.
Though you slam him down and the next turn, a twisting nether just strolls in and saves the day.
This whole thread is insane. It requires you to draw a specific card, play a card that costs more, survive the onslaught of aggro, and then only really effective if you are playing a greedy or combo based deck. The win rates are terrible on Tick decks. The only reason to nerf. I lost to a 16/16 Edwin on turn two and you think Tickitus is the problem. LMAO
While as a 6 mana 8/8 it had that midrange/half-aggro potential too, I see that it's too easy to corrupt it, so how about making it an 8 mana card? that would make it more of a "If you stall until turn 20, you kind of asked for it anyway" type of card. I don't play standard atm, so I don't know how many 9-10 costs cards warlocks play

I think you didnt know that warlock has that hero power that lets them draw an extra card. Infact its one of the classes with the strongest card draw so that argument is pointless. Warlock also has one of the strongest removal of all classes so surving as a warlock against aggro is not too bad especially since they added soul fragments from demon hunter for them. They literally even added a 4 mana 4:3 2dmg aoe all in 1 card. You obv have no idea about the class and its winrate.
While Tickatus certainly is hard to win against if played, as a Priest I have had game where I got lucky on what he milled and won. I also had close games where I was close to winning even after 2 Tickatus. There is also the chance that when you get to 9 mana, the turn after your opponent plays a 7+ spell, you Mindrender and hopefully he has his corrupted Tickatus and then you autowin.
It is however a weird way to give Warlock some power back. It feels too good against both control and combo.

True... It's nice to have a card that really gives combo players the finger, but slow control decks are already having problems enough as it is (it seems at least) and they are actually cool and fun decks to play with and against.
Or a deck build around a later game combo of removing between 5 or 10 of your cards, with no real win condition.
The Tickitus deck is tier 2 at best. By the way, it's probably also unfavored against all 3 of the other decks I cited (aside from perhaps Druid, but only if they get lucky and burn the combo pieces)

Because they don't have insane hero power draw and a card that tutors demons. Not to mention aoe, healing and removal

You need to play the uncorrupted Tickatus if you play illucia, otherwise you destroy your own cards.
Deck destroying is always frustrating. Even if in non-fatigue, non-combo matchups it literally does nothing, it's so much of a PITA in those games where it matters... honestly... it's the kind of mechanic that probably just shouldn't be in the game. At least not at this scale.
And I haven't even bothered playing a game of MDF standard.

I remember when they were hesitant to add true mill cards from the game, and clearly its really hitting some people really hard

The card is broken the entire dev team should be fired I think the game was better before jade Druid and all the broken nonsense cards

I posted earlier, but I want to reinforce my post somewhat.
Which feels more unfair (or to put it another way, which would you rather face):

So many Mecha'thun snowflakes twiggered because their pwecious deck can be shut down now.
Warlock is ranked 8th on hs replay with a 45% win rate. If you can't beat them your deck has some issues.
