Hey guys, I am just curious if Illucia is worth the spot in a priest deck. I have been playing a ton of priest since the expansion drop, mostly highlander and she usually ends up sitting in my hand for long periods of time. I feel shes very situational. Vs control you might get one or two good cards but just like when vsing aggro, you might play his 2-3 aggro cards and he turns around and plays your galakrond, zeph, kronx, etc. Usually highlander or thief priest are holding so much value that you don't want your opponent playing them. I get it, vs combo decks you just destroy them and they most likely concede.. but at diamond 5 i rarely see a combo deck. In highlander i understand your card choices are limited but she seems more worth it for a tempo priest. I lost my sh*t when i first saw her released but unsure now. What are your thoughts?
Yeah, she was overhyped in pre-release. Playing her to drop opponent's hand can backfire pretty hard if not planned well, that said I think she is still worth a card slot because of random OTK decks and sometimes against Druids. Take her out if you facing too much aggro.
Ive had some fun moments with her but yea its tough when Priest is a deck that's more reactionary. So most times youre sitting with your best cards in your hand and theyre not something u want your opponent to use against you.
Most memorable win was at legend against a Quest Mage (Giants, not Antonidas). I played her as my opponent was only missing one last spell to complete the quest. He was eager to play my hand, but completed the quest, and I had made sure he wouldn’t be able to play Time Warp as well as one of my spells. So I got my hand back with Time Warp. And it’s not the only easy win she can provide.
People cried so hard about her pre launch without ever considering how difficult she actually is to play correctly. Its not a card you can just toss out and expect to win on the spot. Very skill intensive card. And im glad because its such a cool effect. If you love priest, I'd say its worth it.

Yeah I agree. It's just one of those situational cards that stick in your hand for awhile. Not to mention it's a 2 Mana 1/3

I've been using her in an aggro priest deck, and my usual approach is to empty my hand, then play her and and leave my opponent with nothing to play next turn.
But I agree: need to be very careful with her. If you get to burn 6 mana worth of your opponent's cards, he gets to burn 8 mana worth of yours on his turn.
It's a high-skill cap card. If you use it correctly it can extract tons of value or even win matches outright, but it will often be very hard to identify the right moment to play her.

Its pretty situational like you mentioned ^^
I would say, save your dust until we know a bit more about this expansion.

I play Razakus so she’s a no-brainer.

I don't think she is worth it. She's most of the time a dead card in my games

I'd love to remove her but I know when I do there will be some ezpz combo deck that I have no chance against haha

Completely agree man!
Yeah man I crafted her day 1 either way haha. Combo decks use to destroy control priests so it's nice to have some kind of defense to combo

She is a tech if druids become the king of the ladder, coined her and waste the mana cheat is game over to druid BS.

After nerf still worth crafting ?
DE'd her.
The 1st step towards a better game is firing Mike Donais! We had enough of his "skillful" balances!
#FireMikeDonais
lol, she is still bonkers.
Yes. At legend my only losses are against aggro Druid (when they’re lucky), and mirrors.
