I think this doesn't fit on the custom cards section since it's more memes -and a bit of discussion- than creating my own cards. Feel free to move the thread if I'm wrong.
They would probably have Charge, just like Unleash the Hounds. And then be nerfed. They didn't have problem with Charge back then and a lot of cards needed to be changed because of this mechanic. Also the entire game was pretty unbalanced back then.
It would still be OP AF. Also remember the decks would include cards like 4-mana Leeroy Jenkins, and the anti aggro cards were almost non existent. This is a zoo from back then, filled with outdated neutrals giving an idea of the power level back then:
In 2013 Demonhunter class wasn't even introduced to WoW so that's an impossible scenario.
On the other hand these cards look more powerful than the actual versions they would have had to overhaul dh like they did to priest or nerf all these cards in 1 patch.
I think your version of Altruis is broken. I mean after a good skull of guldan you'd lost instantly as he'll deal 20 damage - and if you don't have board, oh my...
DH dont even exist like a class in WoW back in 2013
in conclusin .... Demon Hunter is not the hero that Hearthstone deserves (sad Death Knight noises) but the one it needs right now.
Yes, but Illidan as a character and Demon hunter goes way back to Warcraft 3, so it would be perfectly plausible imo.
the same logic can be used for adding Monks and Death Knights
Did someone say it didn't? There weren't really "classes" in Warcraft, but characters associated currently with the classes existed... So, yes Illidan could have been a character, but wouldn't have been a Demon Hunter... If we used WC3 races, Illidan would be a Night Elf, and we could have an Undead class.
The altrius is a bit too strong at baseline, but I see what you're going for since it can technically hit 8 targets with a full enemy board.
I got a solid chuckle overall though because you're pretty within the scope of possibility for the early OP effects in the age of guaranteed brawl wins with 5 mana sylvanas 😂

I got into Warcraft stuff in 2018, and at the time of posting this I couldn't recall the year of the Legion expansion. But, I was preeeetty sure it was in 2014. In my defense I'll say that my line of thought was "If Demon Hunter was included back then, the design would have been totally different" rather than "Blizzard could have done DH, but they didn't".

Keep in mind Skull of Gul'Dan belongs to Ashes of Outland. But if it existed in the classic set, the effect would've been different since multi-card mana discounts didn't exist and would be obviously OP.

Altruis was a difficult one. I thought he would have an arcanes missiles effect and include the Outcast word. Since Flamewaker was still to come, it would've been possible for Blizz to not see the devastating effects of this. I'll clarify that the effect wouldn't activate with Outcast cards from the middle of your hand, so it's more difficult to use it (but still potentially op).

I've been thinking about how DH would've been if it was among the original classes back in 2013.
I tried to change Command the Illidari since it uses rush, but it became the old version of Force of Nature with 1/1s.

Actually pretty good. I think Command the Illidari wouldn't change though.
Note to self: 42 possible custom card arts in rak's rumble, card art "extra arms".

Another one, with a nice meta write-up:
Gorehowl was a GREAT card back then, 5mana taunts did not exist, every deck ran Azure Drake.
I dare you to try one of these decks now!

Anyways, I'm glad you had fun xD
It'd be fun to listen a lot of edgy dh quotes, to end with Leeroy.
Dude, that control deck has a freaking Mogu'shan Warden. I wish Blizzard did a vanilla event, that would be tons of fun.
Got an idea from Reddit.
But it was nerfed!
