Now I understand that not all cards have to be amazing, brilliant and played all the time, But I am curious to see what people think about Chopshop Copter.
I think Chopshop Copter is a pretty cool card, Really good stats, a Low value effect which can pay off and it is a Mech HOWEVER, It makes Zero sense to be added to the game at the moment in an adventure
Like if this card was part of an expansion set I would totally understand, but it is part of a separate adventure and literally has no play in standard as it has literally no Mech in hunter or neutral to be played along side it. Of coarse this can change in the next expansion, but I just wanted to see what people think of this card in standard at the moment.
It ones of those cards which I have NO clue why it is a rare card in an adventure when the next main expasion does not support it and the yearly rotation just prevents it from being any good at all.
Could have seen play in Paladin before the rotation, when it was launched in December. But not in Hunter.
Maybe it will be better next year with +2 expansions with more Hunter mechs.
Yeah it might get better in other expansion, I kind of think it is a cool design, just so weird printing it at the end of the year in an adventure for a class which has barely any mechs as boomsday is rotating out.
Yeah I think are right there, however I think its weird that they are printing cards in an adventure for a standard format only to be 100% made for wild.
Mech Hunter doesn't need a card like this. The most played list is a highly aggressive one that doesn't really care about the value this minion provides. Cybertech Chip doesn't see play either. The value provided by these cards isn't the most consistent as well. I find it to be very bizarre. I think even greedier Mech Hunters (like the ones with Oblivitron and Mechanical Whelp) won't really care about this minion. It simply doesn't make sense.
The problem isn't jus that Hunter lacks mechs in standard right now, but Mechs aren't really known for going wide on the board, so it's hard to get value out of this, except for times when you are already ahead so makes this card a win more card. But who knows, maybe they will release mech cards that spawn tokens via battlecry, deathrattle or even spawned by spells to make this card more appealing, but Mechs kinda need their magnetize cards and buffs to be successful, the former I doubt they'll print anymore for awhile..at least maybe until another mech theme expansion comes out. Maybe a highlander list would be improved by this idea.
Watch them print "unleash the mechs", which would be like unleash the hounds but with mechs instead of beasts, and we'd have (pretty close to) pre-nerf starving buzzard.
(although it's not random and not draw, which would be waaaay weaker for hunter)
Galakrond's Awakening cards were meant to have effects that were unique to the Year of Dragon, for that reason the whole added set is called "Year of the dragon". Many people have forgotten about it, but Blizzard added a lot of "Deathrattle Mech Hunter" support in Rise of Shadows, and this card could go alongside this deck. However, the main reason this deck existed were the 0/2 bombs, and all of them rotated out with Boomsday. I think Blizzard wanted to give players at least "the last month" to re-explore the deck, or the card was added specifically for wild.

I believe it was designed for wild mech hunter.
