I wanted to get everyone else's thoughts on this as I have been thinking about it lately. Would it be nice if Blizzard did some balance patches with card buffs and nerfs where needed? I ask this question because it always seems like their answer is to nerf. Yes of course DH needed a nerf...i think we all can agree on that....but how about buffs to other classes that need it? Yes, we saw some recently in the wild meta before rotation but that doesn't really count IMO.
Let's look at the standard META right now...it's fast. DH's and other aggro all over the place. That's great if you enjoy 5 to 10 min games. Unfortunately, that is not for everyone. I may be the minority here but I prefer things a bit slower and enjoy control decks. It seems that Blizz has completely cut control out of the game on any serious level. (I guess you could argue that gala priest is kind of control...) My point is, I understand it is hard to get a perfect balance for all classes (if that exists) but it is fairly depressing to see the same two or three classes over and over again on the ladder. (seems like a common problem.) Would it be so difficult to buff classes like warrior or maybe shaman that could fit into the control category again, or just aren't seeing play? I just don't understand why Blizz let's certain classes/archetypes rot.
On a side note, I guess that could be very difficult now (to bring control back) with endless lackey generation and value that rogues and other classes have. Yea, some of that is okay but filling your hand over and over with lackey's and/or value the whole game from start to end with infinite resources just seems dumb to me. Lastly, I have to ask why in the hell did Blizz think it was okay to make the card Platebreaker? I am sorry, but you have now buried control warrior for the next year. I don't understand why you would target a classes hero power and basically make it useless with one card....yes I know people are not running this but if control warrior did try to make a come back, you better believe it would be all over the place.
In summary, I understand Blizz isn't perfect but I would really love to see some different ideas from them in the future...and please do not make a classes hero power worthless.
I did not bother reading that wall of text but when is the last time someone tech the card Platebreak for the risky skipper+ armorsmith combo on late turn when you face tempo warrior? It pretty common for them to have 20+ armor late game to be honest
If you would play against tempo warrior, you would know that they actually can gain quite a bit of armor late game if they manage to either survive or not kill the opponent before turn 7-8. Im no expert but im almost sure Platebreaker isnt why control warrior isnt in meta anymore.
Also, asking for a warrior buff when they already have quite a good deck already, not sure what the problem with warrior
Wow dude...I never said platebreaker was why control warrior is not in the meta...
I am fine with having a conversation or friendly debate but unless you have actually read my post (which you already admitted you did not)...I do not understand how you can even make accurate points of conversation.
P.S. I wasn't aware that three paragraphs was a "wall of text" lol.
You are absolutely right. Think of it this way: Blizzard created the game and the 9 characters a few years ago , at that time there was some balance between the cards, the characters were about equal in value. Today after a few years there are some of the characters you don't see in the ladder and there are cards that no one plays with because they are very weak compared to the cards of the last expansions. In my opinion Blizzard should go through a character balance and change basic and classic cards for all the characters , buff some cards just like they did to Priest
and you know what ? if you didnt notice , after priest balance we see priest in ladder finally and various priest decks.. take it into account.
Good point. Maybe a rework like they did for priest would help other classes. I really hate to see dead classes and archetypes. I would really love to see viable options for aggro, mid range, and control on the ladder.
About Platebreaker This card won't be a problem for CW at least in Standard. Who will use it? - Agro/midrange - no. It gives no tempo. And they will often hit your face so you won't stack too much armor. It's unlikely they keep it in hand all match waiting for your combo with Armorsmith. - Control - I don't think so. I'd rather play Archivist Elysiana (for example) to counter all control decks. - Maybe combo otk decks/freeze mages, but they have enough problem with survival and they are not popular.
If you like control - play control. Build/find a good interesting deck. Check out the hot decks on this site.
This warrior looks very interesting for me (Bunnyhoppor GM week2)
No aggro deck would run a 5-mana tech card like Platebreaker just to have a very marginal better chance in their worst matchup against a single specific class, a card that would decrease the deck's consistency in every single other one. You'd just aim at winning the other matchups and admit defeat vs Warrior, or just play a different deck if Warrior was super strong and super popular.

Might help if you had read my post...

They are planning on reworking other classes. Shaman needs a rework as well. I would be surprised if that one was next.
