What if they just nerf Alex? Maybe set YOUR hero's life to 15, so it can be used as a defensive alternative? I think that would be even better.
Why exactly the defensive use is fine but the offensive one isn't? Healing to 15 is just as gamewinning in the right conditions, especially against an aggro that had you in lethal range and is running out of steam.
I'd also argue that the offensive use for an "OTK" actually requires a two turns setup, either having enough damage on the board from a previous turn or having enough burst for the next. While the defensive use is just a mindless "play it and heal for a ton of HPs".
No need to change it really. I don't even see it played that often tbh. Move to HoF because it's an old card that had enough years to shine? Maybe, why not. But turning it into a "body+heal up to 15" seems pretty boring. Let Wild players enjoy this old classic card at least.
Alexstrasza should heal 15 hero or minion instead of set any hero at 15. If she is the queen of life, she should heal only. Dragonqueen Alexstrasza and Zephrys the Great should work only if the deck started with no duplicate.
From design point of view it would be much more expectable for Blizzard to do a rework of Alexstrasza, because the classic set includes the Dragon Aspects from WoW and excluding one of them would be kinda awkward. I also really like that the classic set is not just a bunch of random important characters from WoW, but also has a specific theme.
Personally. Neither version of Alex seems terribly oppressive to me. They are both legendary 9 mana minions so, while they are both powerful and potentially game winning cards, the decks that run them have to not only survive until turn 9 but also create a board state where they can safely be played. Sometimes you just can't afford to play either Alex because you'll likely die if you do. If a control/highlander deck manages to survive until the late game with enough health and a sufficiently equal board state such that they can offensively Alex you then they DESERVE to win the game. It's just that simple.
Sounds like a Wild problem, and not one I've ever encountered. It's not like she's in some type of OTK deck. She's even less useful in Standard, currently.
Tbh, i do like playing strong cards but i hate being on the receiving end.
One card shouldn't be able to swing a game from losing to winning in one turn. I don;t like winning like that myself.
In example.
Someone plays Egg Warrior, plays really good, put opponent on like 7 hp and BOOM Alex into Nozari and some other big dragon.. And don't come up with stuff like 'should have won faster' , 'played better' etc.

The way I would nerf it is "Battlecry: at the end of the turn, set an hero's life to 15".
Defensively doesn't change almost anything (unless you had additional healings that would put you above 15) and offensively changes a lot, because if opponents has a 15 atk board you are not dead anymore. It would just be a tool to bring you down from 30 to 15.

Oh boy we got a smart one here
If DQ Alex and Zephrys were "deck starts with no dupe" then the next tier 1 deck would be Togwaggle Scheme rogue. Do you really want to enable a deck that can play Zephrys for 15 turns straight?
And that would also remove all counterplay of bombs/Albatross/etc.
As for your suggested Alex change, Wild would love that, Priest gets a 9 mana 15 damage with Auchenai, or with Embrace the Shadow after a cost reduction from Frizz.
You gotta be what, Silver 5? Those definitely sound like some low Silver suggestions
I'd be surprised if Alexstrasza gets HoFed before Malygos

That is not a problem considering that there are cards that can deal with the whole board.

The card is fine as it is. It rotates next year anyway.

The rotations, including HOF, always come in April. So that means they will be gone only next year, and not as Hall of Fame cards.
Yeah I wouldn’t have a problem with it going into hof. It’s been around for so long and it’s a pretty boring card to come up against and play with.

All classic cards are fine now imo. It's natural that during some metas some cards get stronger.

Have you tried crying about it on a public forum?

Wrong Alex.

But honestly, I think they will just HoFed her

Really, my only problem with Dragonqueen is the Explorers you get from her can sometimes discover another Dragonqueen.
....Wasn't the whole point of the nerf of making it so Dragonqueen couldn't discover itself to stop that kind of nonsense from happening?
Sure, it can't happen at 0 mana, that really doesn't make it any less stupid.
