I'd keep it if I were you. Both warrior and warlock currently have great ways to activate it (sometimes on the same turn). Acts as a full board clear with a big threat on the board (ala Deathwing but without the discard drawback). It's not *currently* seeing top-tier play... but the fact that it's class-neutral and the fact that it has such a long shelf life being in the first xpack of a new rotation means it could likely see competitive play in the future.
I used it in my anti-DH warlock for the first couple of days, and it actually won me some games because DH doesn't have hard removal. I'd keep it if I were you. You never know whatkind of synergies we'll see in future
It can also screw over resurrect priest so it’s actually got some uses as long as you wait until you can safely activate it. I’ve used it as a tempo card a few times when I had nothing else to play. It does affect the other players turn because they know it clears the board when it awakens so it can buy you some time before they drop any serious threats. Mine is also golden that’s why I wanted to make use of it.
If you don't need the dust RIGHT NOW, I'd keep it. It's a card that is going to be around for a long time, and the meta will shift many times, within and between the many expansions it will live through. I don't know how many times I've seen people complaining about cards that were initially useless become good. Remember how Hadronox was laughed at for a long time before taunt druid became tier 1? I'm not saying it will become good, but there's a chance and people have been surprised.
Glinda, warlock quest, mage quest, priest quest, Barista, Heistbaron Tog, Nomi, Goru, Japetto, Loti, Anka, Dollmaster Dorian, and many more cards are legendaries that saw very little play in release meta but eventually found decks that were at least tier 2 or higher at some point. This is a card that could see some play in slower metas. It interacts with res pools and clears the board, but it's just really slow in doing so and requires two cards.
So I just opened this card ( my first AoO legendary). Not very excited about it, but it is neutral and will be available for 2 years, I am hoping it might become a piece of some strong combo decks in the future....but it is definitely quite high on my 'next to dust' list if I need the dust
It's definitely not as abysmal as people on here are saying, but it's certainly no great. A couple of things with our boy mag:
1. It is a decent include in decks that have low to midrange board clears, but can't deal with massive boards. Mainly a control DH. Chaos nova, warglaives, and flame reaper all clear the tokens and DH doesn't have big board clears at all. Actually decent in that deck, though that deck is only decent itself.
2. Actually pretty damn great against rez priest, and I know how much hearthpwn hates Rez priests. Adds three worthless minions to the pool and clears some of their stuff.
3. More support may be coming. Like some of you stated, he's still as young as he's ever going to be for standard, so more may come with him. Also, sac pact nerf buffs him against lock.
He is slow, but to be called the worst card in the set is rather laughable. 4 mana 12/12 with a built in twisting nether that he survives is far from a horrid card, it's just the pace of the game is too fast ATM. If the game slows way down, he will be played.
I just faced an opponent who I think was playing Highlander DH, he dropped this one me 1 turn after the Warglaives of Azzinoth. Tempo DH is probably a much better deck at the moment, but if this changes with future expansions, Magtheridon can easily become a staple in slower/control DH decks
Well as said, the time is not right of this card yet. But there are 5 more expansions coming in the next 2 years when this will be playable so who knows...
For OP it is different. Since the card is golden it is a much easier decision to dust it as even if you have to craft it in the future you have a 0 net loss of dust or functionality. But for a non-golden one (like my copy) it's a different story as long as you don't urgently need the dust
It plays really well in more control warrior lists, with Brawls and Bladestorms, you can have some very rewarding swing turns. Exactly the kind of tech you need in this meta. If you play warrior, that is lol

Haven't used it much in decks or seen it being used, but idk, anyone think it'll be worth keeping? Or is it a dead card this xpac?
Thanks.
Dust it. 100% a meme, and a bad one at that. Get a legendary you can actually use

Ya eh?
I only saw it used against me once (I main rogue), and he comes out, I shadowstepped one of the 3 guys and my opponent immediately conceded lol.

This is fun. I played it on legend with a positive winrate. So if You have the cards, try it

keep it!
Handlock uses it
Garbage card, don't even think about keeping it, lmao.

Keep what you think you'd use, otherwise dust it.

Definitely a meme card. If someone somewhere suddenly works out how to use it one day though...
