In Magic this kind of card works because your opponent can't attack minions directly, so, you need two removals in same turn (or one that exile the minion) to deal with the problem, in HS this card is crap because trade very poorly for a 5 manas minion and the token don't trade at all, if the token was a least 1/3 minion we can consider the card in arena, 0/3 is absolutely useless.
Won’t see any play without support cards, easy to kill, easy to kill the token, bad card overall, hope I won’t get it and I’ll probably dust it later if I will
I will put this in my Face Mage Elemental deck if I get one. The 3 health is a problem but 7 damage on turn 3 could be useful or at least draw out 2 means of dealing with 3 health minions.
Maybe Teron combo.
But why is this Legendary??? Maybe some combo coming we don't see yet. But I'm hoping for some better Elementals.
I can see this being used in some sort of rez priest or deathrattle synergy whatever class, where you constantly get back al'ar and the ashes and the multiple al'ar eventually get too sticky and impossible to deal with.. I guess

Yeah, that's gonna be the place it sees the play if at all. You might not put it in such a deck even if that deck was meta, though.
This might be ok against control. It survives aoe and they'll have to use an extra resource to kill the egg. In general it's solid if your opponent doesn't have a board, but against anything besides control that doesn't really happen. Bad card I think.
I remember raiding Tempest Keep by myself every other week back when I played WoW, trying to get the Ashes of Al'ar, but no luck. This one time I was bored, so I told my cousin to come with me for shit and giggles and, lo and behold, good 'ol Kael'thas decides it's the perfect time to drop the mount. The RNG gods and my cousin still laugh at me, I think you can guess who ended up getting it :'-)

Fart noise
Face Hunter: Opponent's Ashes of Al'ar out? Naw fam, I'll just go face.
Not sure if hyped yet.
In Magic have a card with very similar concept:

Super underwhelming card. Was hoping for more.

Looks unplayable. It is barely better than a vanilla 5 mana 7/3.
Maybe if the token had stealth, but it doesn't, and the token is a free kill.
