So far my experience has been that the random spells are much more often in my favor. Like 9-1. That's probably a little high. Occasionally the spells are huge.
Speaking alotta Sense. The Board clear is great and all, but it isn't even close to making it worth 10 Mana.
Like you say, 7/8 Mana would atleast be playable and I get that the whole Idea of Reno is that he has No Idea what he's doing, but fuck me is the Hero Power Punishing.
Does Anyone think The Amazing Reno would Work better as 7Mana (As Pointed out by hillander) & Hero Power - "Discover A Spell from Any Class, Cast It. (Targets Chosen Randomly).
A) - The Enormous Pool of Spells to choose from, you'd need to be Lucky to get a 'Zephrys' Tier Answer.
B) - Targets chosen Randomly, still means there's a risk of Backfire, in keeping with Reno's Goofball shenanigans.
7Mana Board Wipe, and Hero Power that doesn't curbstomp your Deck into Fatigue by casting Turn After Freaking Turn of DrawSpells! Would that be so bad? Considering the Galakrond Heroes are same Mana and Give A Hell of alot more value.
Meh, I kinda like this Reno and will keep in my Highlander deck for now. I wish he had a better hero power. But I like that you can play him based on the field and setup your rebuild cards in hand before playing him. Kinda have to wait for your opponent to be all in for full effect.
But I don't think I will be cracking rank 10 this month with the current meta.

I don't know if it's the HeroPower or the Cost anymore, don't get me wrong the H.P is terrible 75% of the time, but atleast if he was 7-8Mana he'd be playable in situations stacked against you. I'd really like to see this Goof buffed, but maybe it's more realistic to just hold tight for New Year of 'X' Cards. Who knows Mage might get a 6mana - Gain 2 Armor Spell...

Good thing you are not a developer. 7 or 8 mana is too low. You basically silence the whole board and get a refreshing hero power in return. Priest has to spend 9 mana for the same silence effect but does not a certain powerfull heropower back.
Honestly I'd rather have the default Hero Power for 1 damage instead of Reno's replacement.... most games... occasionally it does some good. But the effect is very strong and any armor is always helpful for Mage. I'd of course rather he cost 8 mana though.
If it was changed to a 0 cost hero power that stated "Cast a random spell", I'd be a bit more onboard with it. So far it hasn't really seemed to be worth playing in my mage decks. The board clear is nice, but losing control of the hero power has turned out to be more of an issue than it's worth.
It can be fun for the memes, but at 10 mana it is usually more of a brick in my hand that a useful card :(
Currently this is my favorite card. Yes giving mage a total and clean board clear and the little armor gain is great (it has really saved me a couple of times) AND the hero power is super hit and miss (though when it hits, wow- straight won 4 games on day one b/c of what the hero power did)... but those emotes are the best on any hero- no competition. Makes me smile every time.
As to the cost- while it is steep, with Twisting Nether at 8 mana and Plague of Death at 9, 10 mana seem consistent. I would love it to be cheaper but its fair for what it does.
And as far as gameplay goes, I love what it does- really reminds me of old Reno Mage. Fend off wave after wave of your opponent's stuff, carefully managing your resources, so you can come in late with heavy blows. Its a Rope-a-Dope control strategy that I have been missing, that The Amazing Reno revives a bit.
People are underestimating that 5 armor gain also, Highlander Mage have very few way to gain health, and having another board clear with armor on top of that is exactly what they needed. Also, as some already said, random spells on average favors you, and the ping is most of time useless in late game anyway.
Even If he Was 9Mana it would be Reasonable. I get that FrostLich Jaina Isn't a Perfect Comparison, but given players were free to either drop at 9Mana or Save Coin, Proc The Hero Power and Life Steal the Shit out of everything, there was Way More Flexiplay than this Hero.
I appreciate the OP ability to just wipe a Board absolutely, but then having such an Enormous Spell Pool to cast, I've lost count of the Times the fucker Casts Sprint, or other Dumb spells. It's a complete Liability, it only time you get help is when your Winning anyway, and even then the little Bastard could Cast a Game loosing spell.

This card is merely playable.
Love that it makes all minions disappear (bye deathrattle minions). Good emergency board clear.
but the hero power sucks. It has worked against me a few times and helped my opponent.
Just a meme card.
Dust it. Highlander Mage is too weak in aggro meta.
Dust it? So the meta will never change?
Exactly. Hunter rules for last 2 years with short Galakrond Shaman break.

Yes Poor Priest and Its 2 Board Wipes, 5mana 6Taunts Destroy Minions and Constant Ressurect.
7-8 Mana Board wipe, HeroPower Blast your Face + Draw your Deck is totally OP.
Even FrostLich Jaina Wasn't 10Mana, and that had obscene power

It's actually hilarious that people think 10 mana is too much. It is absolutely appropriate for what he is.
It’s way to slow for the meta
Depends on how much you want to win.
