As the 2020 begins to settle some cards will be Hall of Famed in April and I know there is still 3 months until that, but up until now with the Year of the Dragon what do you think are the candidates for the Hall of Fame? It's usually Basic and Classic set, but who knows - maybe even some OP broken annoying card from set from Year of the Dragon (if there is/are such card/cards)?
Stonetusk Boar (this may look silly but almost every meta there is a deck that can make a 1/1 charge into Quest Rogue PTSD kinda thing...now we have the Deathrattle Rogue with handbuffing and 1/1 charge that becomes a lethal is to be considered a potential candidate)
Yes, I agree that Leeroy is a candidate for wild, although he is a staple in aggro decks. If he were to be HoF, most aggro decks will fall, I am saying most because the most popular DoD Face Hunter doesn’t have Leeroy in it.
I do not agree with Inner fire/Divine spirit being a candidate. Priest doesn’t even have a good meta deck that includes the combo, even combo as a whole has been dead for a while. Where are all the Mecha’thuns? It might be HoF because it is annoying but it is not op (at the moment).
I don’t want stonetusk boar to be HoF because that would just prove how much Blizzard hates charge, they didn’t print a single charge card in two years. If they HoF that, then I could see them HoF the entire Charge classic cards and replace them possibly with rush cards and personally, I don’t want that to happen.
My candidates for HoF are Freezing Trap. That’s it. It is really the best secret, excluding Rat Trap but that is rotating out. It really annoys a lot, especially when you trigger it on a minion thats 9 cost or 10. I’ve been playing a lot of Highlander Secret Hunter lately and that happens a lot.
I think all classic cards mentioned here have a chance being HoF and me disagreeing is just my wish for those cards not to be HoF. Some have a higher chance while some have lower. They might also HoF Zephrys, just like they did Baku and Genn, but I disagree.
DS/IF will stay with us. As above mentioned priest is still weak, and dsif doesnt have really good synergy now. Stonetusk boar will never get hofed. Your Logic is bad sorry. Quest rogue was nerfed and dr rogue not so consistent like tier 1 decks, and not the boar is the strong minion in those decks. It is just good thats all.
Btw freezing trap is not a bad call, but i think many deck types can play around it.
Leeroy will never get hofed. Than the aggro archetype lost its finisher. Why would u destroy the aggro style? Than rock paper scissor just falls apart.
backstab!!! please!! its in every single rogue deck and in every starting hand!!! soooooooo annoying... its not an op card but im tired of seeing it...
I don't think the Combo Priest has been dead. Besides Quest Priest right now it is the only viable Priest deck. It almost always finds a place every now and then. It is an OTK you can't really play around because Priest can silence your whole board at once if you taunt it. But the discussion about Combo Priest isn't something I would do right now and it belongs to the salt thread (although I'm totally fine with it).
About charge mechanic...blizz already kinda regrets charge with printing rush cards and not just in The Witchwood (where it was first introduced) and nerf to Leeroy and Warsong Commander and the spell Charge. I really don't know but I just put it out there the boar because it is the cheapest charge minion with lots of possibilities with each new expansion introduced.
I don't think the Freezing Trap is that much of an issue because with all the small minions and tokens like lackeys to trigger it for you so that you don't have to sacrifice your big minions. And you can kinda play around the secrets.
I personally wouldn't HoF Zephrys because it is a unique card with punishing deck restriction, but a huge reward. I think there is a new salt thread about Zephrys so I wouldn't get in there in this one.
I would agree with Leeroy Jenkins if it wouldn`t affect the aggro decks, as Faby said .
However, I would move to HoF Bloodmage Thalnos because it`s had its time of glory, really.
Another one would be Novice Engineer. It`s a somewhat card that annoys me, and for some reasons, is sometimes the luck of the draw for a lethal move. No skill whatsoever involved, just a draw for lethal.
And lastly some priest card that is making them one of the most complete classes right now, with both aggro, midrange-ish and late game decks.

And for clarification, I don't want these cards to be HoF. This is just what I think what cards are going to be HoF. I wouldn't destroy aggro because I'm mostly control player which is good against aggro.
And DS/IF combo is sometimes uninteractive and people have previously complained about it so that was my reasoning for it. It may not be good now but it will find a meta where it will be and people will start complaining again.
AGAIN, not what I want but what I think it will be.
Yet another "cards I just lost to and am salty against" thread. Yawn.
Yet another "I love to say salty" response to pretty much any reasonable thread. How about just don't click? Nobody thinks saying the word "salty" makes someone cool😂😂😂.
All charge cards that are neutral. Rush is a much more successful mechanic. Aggro needs finishers, I’d rather see class specific aggro finishers than a handful of grandfathered in charge cards that have no class identity other than can go face this turn. Hunter should have one or two charge beasts. Rogue should have a charge minion based off of number of times bounced or combo cards played, like a weaker Edwin. Warrior can keep their charge minion, maybe make the charge pirate a warrior class. I don’t see Druid, warlock or shaman needing charge as they flood and buff tokens, which is a different aggro stat than charge.
I’d also vote for Malygos and Alexstraza to go. They have been around for a long time and while not oppressive, they are just old.
If control/combo decks can have access to Neutral Taunts/Heals/Rush options, then Aggro should have access to Neutral Chargers.
The meta game isn't even dominated by aggro. Face Hunter made ONE appearance in the meta, the literal first time its been relevant since like, 2016, and that was only because Rogue and Shaman were top of the meta. A class who has always been weak to aggro and a Shaman deck that didn't have tons of AOE/Healing for once, which also proved to be a good match up for Face Hunter to win against.
Other than that, Aggro hasn't really been a thing. Stop trying to take tools away from it, we don't need another snorefest meta where the only viable decks are greedy decks making infinite value while having enough Taunts/AOEs to curb stomp aggro while getting there, like the Deathknight metas. Hearthstone panders heavily towards Value/Control decks as is and has been for a long time. Aggro hardly gets anything nowadays, it doesn't need what few things it has, taken away.
I would agree with Leeroy Jenkins if it wouldn`t affect the aggro decks, as Faby said .
However, I would move to HoF Bloodmage Thalnos because it`s had its time of glory, really.

That`s just me, and it`s just an opinion.
i don't think i've seen bloodmage thalnos in any deck in forever, it's not a problem..
Priest is popular now because aggro decks emerged. His win codition is to survive and spend resources on the rival. Priest combo and Priest Silence is not very popular and its win codition is Divine Spirit + Inner Fire. They would also be dead cards in Quest Priest because it is better to have survival or resurrection cards.
Leeroy Jenkins deserves to go to HoF. In addition there is another finisher for aggro decks with Reckless Rocketeer. Bloodlust that card takes you by surprise just as Savage Roar maybe only Bloodlust needs to go to HoF. Alexstrasza, if future expansions lead you to a meta control is a consideration for HoF. Far Sight is not a problem but maybe it is a design problem in future expansions. Shadowstep is a design problem for standard because it is a great value for any archetype.
I don't want them to go to HoF but Leeroy Jenkins does or does need to go to HoF.
Mind control tech. I get that its the neutral board swing card, but man it feels infuriating when its part of a top tier meta deck and your main way of winning is developing a threatening/ resilient board. Sure it can be played around, but when it hits the board it can often change the outcome of a game on its own. It was nasty when it was part of druid decks, and its equally nasty in Shaman (even though it isn't as widely used as before).
On the subject of Leeroy - I get the fatigue from seeing the card smacking you in the face every other game, but I'd be much happier if stonetusk boar finally becomes sausages.

My theory is if they only HoF Leeroy Jenkins, people will try to execute the same combos with Reckless Rocketeer with VERY little, to absolutely no success. Therefore, I don't see much harm in leaving her or the other unused Charge minions in standard. I think the HoF should be saved for minions who are too powerful to be left in standard or just plain ol' mistakes (i.e. the Odd/Even cards).
However, there's always the option of summoning these minions by way of other cards and not via putting them in your deck. For example, Power of Creation is pretty good if you manage to get Argent Commander. Do we hate Charge so much that we're willing to pull useless cards from constructed play so they don't show up randomly on the battlefield from other cards? Perhaps.
My reasoning si simple, ALL of those cards, (Except maybe leeroy) limit design space, can't make cheap spells without making malygos broken, alex is basically a mage setup for a lethal 90% of the time she sees play, and can't make minions with lots of health without divine spirit+inner fire becoming a problem.
And about the chargers, well, blizzard themselves admitted that stonetusk limits design space, and Quest Rogue and DeathRattle rogue showed why.
If they decide to remove DS/IF from standard I hope they'll provide Priest with another win condition. E.g. they removed mind blast and gave Priest Radiance. I like that classes have different strategies and, imo, it would be boring if Priest is forced to control.
And don't give me that class identity BS. Look at Shamans weaknesses and look at what they do.

Dude...I just started a normal healthy discussion about 2020 HoF and prediction. Not a single soul here hasn't written anything salty.
Besides who lost to Stonetusk Boar??

zephrys the great to hall of fame
Your take on Charge is interesting! We all know that Leeroy Jenkins is really powerful and Stonetusk Boar sees play as well depending on the deck. Hell, even Bluegill Warrior and Wolfrider pop-up every now and again. Because of these cards, do we think that unused Neutral Charge minions like Stormwind Knight, Argent Commander, and Reckless Rocketeer will rotate with them? It's entirely possible!
My theory is if they only HoF Leeroy Jenkins, people will try to execute the same combos with Reckless Rocketeer with VERY little, to absolutely no success. Still, that's off-topic. I think Leeroy Jenkins is the biggest contender followed by Alexstraza and Shadowstep.
