Did Mage have no good WoW characters left they had to use a random machine? or is the machine really special somehow?
Anyway, I'm interested in the effect. Without spending any mana, it's a 2 damage AOE (though you basically drew a dead card). Feels too RNG to pull of though.
Very bad legendary. Just Random uncontrolled AOE effecting your board too and telling enemy player which card you have just topdecked. I don't get how it is a legendary card =(
THIS ^
Seriously? I wonder why Mage got screwed, as well as Paladin.. Hell i KNEW Pally would get screwed im not gonna lie but wow poor mage.. Sorry guys.
Man as a Shaman player I thought we had it bad, poor mage got arguably a less useful card. Same stats and mana cost as Neptulon (minus the overload, not much of a draw back on turn 7+) but at least drawing 4 random cards (even if they are murlocs) offers way more utility than an uncontrolable aoe (that even harms you in any event your ahead).
Still as bad as mage and shaman have it Bolvar is by far worse, you need it in your opening hand which you can't play right away and its very easy to silence or remove. Although really compared to the other better class legendaries Mal'Ganis makes this card look like a joke.
*Edit* I forgot to mention this card also REVEALS itself to your opponent. I can only imagine the amount of times you mulligan this card away only to have it come back as your first draw on your opening turn essentially making the game a 28 hp vs 28hp match and they know you have a 7 drop, vs a priest or any class running healing you only put yourself behind. Drawing this card late can kill you even behind your own ice block but that's been stated here numerous times.
The only use i can see this card having is countering mill rogue using coldlight oracle bounce (by chance that is) and by praying to draw it early game vs murloc shaman or hunter, even then the odds are heavily against you then (less than 1/20 by the time you want it, not counting the odds you mulligan into it or draw it too early also)
In arena its way to risky to take since it might nuke your own board when your ahead but it might work if your behind? A HUGE rng toss up here. Better than lore walker or nat pagle but only because it might come in handy due to its stats or rng aoe, its war golem with an uncontrollable effect :/
I don't get it. Mage was nerfed to the ground because it was "not fun to play against". The class stayed uncompetitive for the majority of vanilla. And now they release THIS? What the hell?!
It the worst class legendary in the game. There are no deck archetypes it could be good in. It's a bad minion with a bad effect attached to it. I hope to hear some explanation from the devs.
There was a debate about this card already in the "supposed 4 leaked legenderies" thread.
It was argued that it can be ok in freeze mage where you don't play many minions and its free board swipe can be quite good. And that's the only mage deck I can think of where this card can be useful...Worse thing about it imo is that it doesn't synergise with other mechs, its quite likely that it will kill them instead...this is without any doubt the worst legendary in GvG.
it is bad even in freeze mage. You dont want to spend your turn playing a 7 mana 7/7, it will be a dead card. And can kill you with ice block up.
this is truly the most bizarre card of the whole set. It feels like it should be a legendary, sure, but why not one of the 1,000 neutrals they've already shown? Seriously, just change the card border to grey, switch literally any of the others to blue and call it a day.
Mage legendary with no magic interaction....it's not even a character. So weird.
Great. There are 2 options - to get a War Golem in your starting hand (awful) or to play the whole game sub-optimally trying to make use of Flame Leviathan's effect and THEN get a War Golem.
Imagine you open 40 packs at the start of GvG and the only legendary you get is this one.
Dust is dust, but I would rather draw nothing than deal with the frustration that comes with this abomination.
Even if I only had the basic cards that come with installing Hearthstone I wouldn't include this in a mage deck. There must be some hardcore combo we fail to see or so, they can't be serious about this.
Luckily I think some of the new Mage cards will be good enough to make Mage semi-viable anyway (to the point that I might start seeing at least one Mage per 100 matches on ladder), but Mage class basically has no playable legendaries.
If it were all ENEMY characters, i.e. a very situational free Consecrate stapled on to a War Golem, it MIGHT see play. Currently it's just an expensive way to screw yourself.
Well at least we have Antonidas, with all new Spare-parts it can become very good
It does look sort of like it got peeled from the cover of a 1970's sci-fi paperback.

if you play this in agro mage you just sealed your fate

VS
Not only is this card garbo imo, but even greater crime is that it doesn't have any mage class connection/feel to it.
0/5, easily the worst class legend.

If you have Flame Leviathan in your opening hand, then the effect never triggers. https://twitter.com/bdbrode/status/539880660975255552

Hey, at least Mage didn't get bloody Bolvar!
i wonder how this interacts with Gnomish Experimenter
i prefer handlock over zoo.
You draw a chicken and are happier than drawing this.

Blizzard guy #1: We need a legendary for a mage! What should it be?
Blizzard guy #2: I dunno. What's the first thing that comes to your mind when someone mentiones a person in a hooded robe casting all kinds of spells?
Blizzard guy #1: TANK!
Because logic -_-

We get this, and not an Ogre Magi? Give me a break.
An Ogre Magi would have been so cool...
I mean, even if they fixed this so it were, you know…playable…the flavor just feels all wrong.
Maybe we can draw this after Neptulon plays out all his Murlocs /kappa
