how can people vote playable or lower? a 1/3 is good itself and shaman has alot of overload spells so its a insane card in a aggro deck or for early board control
Good card but I'll dust it as soon as it rotates to wild because I still have my golden tunnel troggs, it's kinda sad that they make cards with reverse powercreep.

Did you want them to print something better than tunnel trogg?

God no I'm not that crazy lol. I mean this one drop could have been anything, it's a little sad that it's just a worse version of an existing class card.
Wild shaman players got 1 less (fewer?) card this expansion

Trust me, every single deck that runs Tunnel Trogg will also run this. It's weaker, but 1/3 base stats are premium and it has a clear upside that tackles the same Synergy set as Tunnel Trogg, Overload.
I can see Overload Token Aggro this Exp as a Wild deck. They also have a new cheap AoE board buff and Vessina provides the important link between Token and Overload Synergies.

It's weaker than Trogg alright, but you could just run both. Shaman used to have exactly one premium 1-drop, now they have two (or three, if you see Sludge Slurper on the same level). Trogg rarely gets much bigger than 2 or 3 attack anyway.

Sludge Slurper is not a premium card. Arguably it is even quite average and only played due to lack of alternatives.
Stats to mana formula is= (Attack+Health-1)/2.
So Sludge Slurper is worth 1 Mana of stats.
Which means you get 1 Lackey for Overload (1), in other words for 1 Mana.
Draw or generate 1 card is usually worth 1 Mana, however since Lackeys are 1 cost it can be worth less and is worth less on other cards like Evil Miscreant or the new 0 cost Priest spell.
So Sludge Slurper, in Wild, only has average power. While it adds a new token to your hand, it is bad on curve. Token decks want to flood the board asap in order to ensure value on their board buffs.
Playing a 1 Health minion on turn 1, then limiting yourself to another 1 cost minion on 2 is terrible for a token deck.
So Sludge Slurper only ranks #4 or maybe even lower in such a deck. Tunnel Trogg, this new card and Firefly rank above him.

Lackeys are worth more than 1 mana, tho. In the right circumstances, some of them are worth more than 1 mana.
I think this card is cool. I remember when Overload was just an awful mechanic, I'm glad cards like Vessina, this and Stormhead have made it more attractive.

Trogg no stupid anymore!

Its ok but overload competing in shaman when quest and invoke (also murloc) being around will be a tough sell

1-drop Elemental also means a good curve into Earthen Might.
