I think this is too op of a tech vs Druid/Warrior it would be balanced if it destroyed half of your armor

RIP Druid and Warrior. Too powerful of a tech card with no downside. They shouldn't have made this card.

Voted “Meta-defining” in the purest sense, because the prevalence of this card defines the speed of Warrior this meta.

Or it could be like a double-sided edge. Like "destroy all Armor from both player's" or "lose half of your hit points then destroy your opponent's armor"

I've been expecting some big changes to Priest and possibly Warrior; now I'm even more certain about Warrior.

 This is exactly what it should have been. The way this card is now, it's beyond overpowered... it's honestly more like a Beta-development mistake.

Uh are they intentionally trying to kill hearthstone with this expansion? The number of insane cards this set is unreal. 

It's purely a "fuck-you" card to combat that 2000 armor druid deck in wild.

In standard it's pretty much 5/5 do nothing in most of your matches, and even in those that it remove some armor it's not game breaking.

It's a 1 star card that will get 5 stars for no good reason.

I really don’t understand what people are thinking. It seems as if blizzard introduced a button to every player that destroys all armor any time they want. You have to put this garbage in your deck. You have to draw it when you need it. And your opponent may as well build the armor again. It only punish decks that does nothing but armor and stall. Now when you are deck building or playing armor classes, you need to actually consider the slim chance of losing when your opponent did bring this garbage and you ONLY RELIES ON ARMOR. You don’t need to be super rely on armor to play control warrior and if you are to heavily relying on armor, you may as well bait this card. Pirate hate didn’t kill pirate warrior, secret hate didn’t kill secret mage/hunter/paladin. There are tons of weapon removal but weapons are still prevalent from meta to meta. 3000 armor Druid?  Do you really want to bring a 5 5/5 into your wild deck just to counter that?

Where were you when the game prints secret hate? What constitute a "core class mechanic" to you? Core class mechanic is a mechanic that the majority of the class' identity is build around, with this sometimes being reflected in the hero power (like in warrior's case). You'd be an idiot to argue that armor isn't warrior's core class mechanic. It is the classes ''thing'' and only one other class has a natural way of obtaining it (druid via hero power) while others need very specific cards to obtain some of it. It is not something that is just given to every class out there to use as freely as warrior does.

Druid's core mechanic is to ramp. It is the ramp class. Now imagine if a card came out and said ''Your opponent can't gain more than one mana crystal'' or something similar. Who does this card target? It targets one specific class, aiming at the one thing that it is its core mechanic. This isn't a conditional card that needs to meet some requirements to activate or that removes a small amount of advantage that your opponent has (like destroy one secret or steal a weapon for example). This is the main focus of your class just...gone. 

The idea behind armor is to take warrior into the late game and punish their opponents in it. Your opponent is punished for not being able to deal with you quicker. Control warrior isn't this unstoppable force that no one can beat because of armor. This card punished that idea. It punishes you for doing what warrior is meant to do. That is why cards like it shouldn't exist.

On the sidenote: no, I don't think that this card is as good as some people believe it is. It will only see play if control warrior ever becomes a thing after this and at tournament play when you know that there will be warrior decks out there. The design is the problem, not the card itself. 

 if you have the time to sit your ass on enough armor that this card actually brought sizable value, you should've been playing taunts or impactful minion on the field already. Suddenly removing your armor doesn't make you immediately lose the game, and you still have the option of continuing to armor up. Hell, maybe they'll print even BETTER armor card now that there's SOME risk associated in armoring up.

Also there's other option of surviving the game other than sitting on armor. How about new removals and AoE?

 You're vastly overestimating the amount of armor interacting cards this game have. Warrior have 7 of them in the entire darn game (2 in standard currently), and only Shield Slam has ever been viable. Besides, it doesn't take that many armor up for said cards to give appropriate value for their cost again.

 Man its not about shield slam, its about the control warrior archetype itself. With armour up you gain time and that time you can use it for giving more value to the cards that you play(for example clearing more minions with brawl) . I see very low knowledge about the game and the mechanichs on this forum, and even tho i try to explain things people can just not get it. You cant really think about shield slam or other shield cards couse as you said they dont need much armour to be usefull so as you aaid byyourself dont even mention it. 

I mean i play only wild, control warrior is not usable anymore and i never liked to play it but this card just killed it in standard too. 

 

 I already said it once and I will say it again. If you had enough time to accumulate a large enough supply of armor, enough that this card being dropped down devastated you that hard, you literally also have the mana to play other stuff, do more control related stuff. Maybe you'll have to be more proactive, instead of forcing it down to fatigue where the player with higher armor win. But is there anything wrong with that? Certainly better than winning a match because you have 20HP and 30 armor and your opponent just can't bother with playing anything anymore. 

Also, a 5/5 isn't that great of a statline on a minion. If you play a card that counter only 2 class in the game, you have to also live with the fact that it's a dead card if class outside of those two become meta.

This card is certainly an unprecedented move, but people are greatly exaggerating it like the card owes them money or something. I'm more amused by the ridiculous reactions this forum have for it.

 

 Yeah they are a little extreme.  That being said I think you are slightly off base.  It's not a issue of having mana to play other stuff.  The whole point of control is to literally wear out your opponents deck and hence options.  Armor is THE way warrior does that.  Further more MOST of control warriors cards are reactive, not proactive.  You either can't/shouldn't play them out aggressively.  Like Archivist Elysiana.  The whole point of armor is buy the time you are speaking of.  If you play a more aggressive warrior then you aren't playing control, which is sorta the point of the card I suppose. 

 In any event I don't like it not because it's SUPER POWER OMG, but because I don't like it when a card is so specific in what class it is targeting.  I didn't like secret hate either for that matter.  But just cause I don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.  Just feels bad.

This is a tech card, no more, no less.

I absolutely would have used it during the dark days of Dr. Boom earlier this year because I was facing enough Control Warrior decks at that time to justify it. Would I use it in the current meta? Nope. Would I have used it back during TGT and Justicar Trueheart? Hell yes.

And that is the entire point. A card like this keeps the meta from getting monotonous. It doesn't "kill" any archetype. It only keeps them in check.

Players who think this is a bad card are the ones who like to ride an easy-to-play piece of garbage from Rank 20 to Legend. The rest of us understand that you're actually supposed to lose to a bad match-up or a thoughtful tech every once in a while.

I'm on the fence. While this is fine for standard, I'm a bit worried for wild, where warrior already isn't a big player.

I feel armor at it's core is meant to be used as a resource. Gain armor now, use a weapon to kill a minion later. Stacking up on armor is not something that should happen in most games. In that sense I welcome this. If you use armor this way, this card is completely useless, even against warrior.

But... Alexstrasza still hasn't been nerfed. Stacking up on armor was such a big FU to freeze mage and malygos decks. Those are the ONLY decks that WOULD use this card effectively and WILL run it, and they were the work of the devil to begin with. I don't like that one bit.
