playable only because of the amount of deathrattle support priest has, even then I dont think its that good.
Big decks will have responses to it and small decks will just ignore it (the outcome wont be great)
The power of this card is kind of bonkers. Not sure why you would view it as 'not that good' honestly.
The vanilla outcome for this effect is a 3 mana 2/3 summon a 2/1 with Harvest Golem. A more relevant comparison would be Snip Snap at a 3 mana 2/3 summon two 1/1s. However, Snip also has the magnetic, echo, mech thing going for it. This card is already better off as a 3 mana 3/3, which is already unprecedented for 3 mana cards with deathrattle summons. As for it's deathrattle summon, it's almost certain to get better value than a 2/1 or two 1/1s. I'm finding it hard to imagine how this isn't at the very least 'good' if not better. I mean, hell. In many situations, this card becomes a 3 mana 3/3, deathrattle summon a 2/3 deathrattle summon two 1/1s on curve. That's kinda insane.
Against small decks, this card helps you catch up on the board since it replaces itself. Against big decks, this is the type of card that makes your opponent waste answers they'd otherwise rather save for other threats. It also seems generically useful enough that it'll fit into all but the very niche priest deck (ie: Resurrect priest).
It'll be interesting to see whose right about it though. I mean, there's been so many cards that look great on paper that end up not making the cut and I freely admit, I may be missing the mark on this one. I'm just having a hard time envisioning this not being at least playable.
Yeah, this card is just really good rate. Will only not see play if bonkers combo shit just doesn't leave any room for this or there just isn't a good enough priest shell for it to fit into.
The word “new” before copy suggests that this card works differently from other copy cards - you will get a full health version of the minion with no enchantments? This would make sense since the effect is a deathrattle, and the status of the original minion copied may have changed in the meantime.

Those are all good points, but I honestly don't see it as much more spectacular than the cards you mentioned.
You likely get a minion with good stats, in the late game possibly fantastic stats. But that's likely all you get: stats. Maybe you get to copy a minion with Reborn or a Deathrattle, but there are not too many of those around either.
To me, this feels like a card that is good on paper, but won't really fit in any deck, since it doesn't support any playstyle significantly, and doesn't have much support for itself. There is Shadowy Figure, maybe another one or two cards I can't currently remember, but most of Priest's Deathrattle theme is unimpressive and was never utilized. And while this card suggests to play more of a tempo-oriented Deathrattle deck, which could be a new direction for the class, I can't see it happen with this card alone.
So, it remains a card that is not "bad" in any way, but doesn't strike me as one that will see much if any play, at least for now. And I see cards, that I find no use for, as "not that good". It's not going to be the worst legendary in the set either, but it's not in the top 5, probably not even in the top 10 for me, even without all Galakronds.

It’s a ton of stats. You put it in every Priest deck and sometimes you draw it on 3, copy their 3-drop and just win the board with a ridiculous minion.
Yeah, I agree that I don't think this card alone can really build an archetype (yet). However, I don't think it needs one built around it for be good. As an example using an existing archetype, I think this card could fit in combo priest. It helps control and maintain a board presence, allowing either it or the minion it summons to be yet another body to receive buffs for a combo kill. Again, the card is so universally useful and reasonably powerful that I feel it makes the cut in nearly all priest decks, even without synergetic cards.
I also feel that Mindflayer Kaahrj will be extremely flexible regardless of the meta. Against a super fast meta, he helps you maintain a powerful board to help push back. In a slower meta he provides nigh unrivaled value for 3 mana. But again, you may be right where he's just not quite 'broken enough' to merit play. I know I'll definitely be playing around with him once the expansion hits though. Definitely gonna try to make him work!
Everyone only see "broken cards", and doesn't care about one that are fundamental strong and solid. This is one of them: it's no meta-breaking card, but it's a fundamental strong card. People tend to forget how broken Piloted Shredder was. This is Piloted Shredder on crack. The Stickyness of this minion is actually quite worthy to play. And the value is always good, early or late-game. And it's by far not a slow play, you are not losing any tempo because you have this card. And don't forget that priest requires you to have a minion to play anything. This stickyness of this minion allows you to have nearly always a minion on board.
Still: what we need is to have more synergy with Deathrattle for Priest. Hopefully we will see it.
If your opponent has no minion, and you are playing control Priest, you are already winning, especially if they are mid range or aggro. Against control, you get to play this card when they drop their big bomb and you get a discounted copy.
How can this card be bad? This card is very playable and perhaps close to meta-defining. Playing this on curve against any other deck with a solid 2 drop means you will always compete for early board just long enough to Mass Hysteria them all away.
As someone else pointed out, this is a solid card that works in both anti-aggro and anti-control decks. The deathrattle means they have to have 2 kill spells.
Let's say your opponent plays some discounted broken dragon on turn 6, like Ysera. You copy it, then kill their minion with a spell on turn 7. You now have a Ysera waiting for you if they ever decide to kill this creature.
In a mid-range world full of powerful dragons, this card is really good.

Suppose your opponent is playing Quest Maly Druid. You have very little chance to begin with, but this card doesn't do crap.
I really wish people would stop throwing the words "meta defining" around.
I actually don't think this card is that bad - very situational obviously but I've had some good results with this and cards like Grave Rune and Shadowy Figure.
I drafted this in arena yesterday, and boy - it felt like the most broken minion in HS. If you hit like a 4-5-6 drop with its battlecry it just wins you the game (unless you're very far behind), at least in draft.
But yeah, it does't really fit control / ressurect priest, but slam it into any tempo / aggro priest and it's gonna be good.
Hey - Why doesn't this stack with Shadowy Figure? I just played this card and and then tried to copy it with Shade, but for some reason the deathrattle didn't stick with it. Am I missing something with the game mechanic, or am I just special?

It should have been for pally, would suit good with quest

Meh very underwhelming. Not sure if it's worth a deck slot.
Oh, COME..ON.. As if this cowardly class isn't OP enough..

How do you think this will work with a Spirit of the Shark on my board? Will I chose twice, or will it chose the same one in the Sharks recast?
Same one

Works fine for me.
Turns out I'm special... I stuffed up.
