While I don't think GvG power creeped much, this is probably the most pure example of Power Creep in the set: While the Deathrattle can be a downside, being a Deathrattle and Mech makes it superior to Yeti often and Druid will like having a Yeti with text, even if it is just small text...I wonder if they'll run a Yeti Brothers deck that tries to Innervate either of these out early by running both? It is also nicer than Yeti with Teacher/Gadgetzan.
In Arena, it is Yeti+ in the same common slot, so you probably pick it just like Yeti except slightly better, which means it is one of the best Arena picks there is. Chillwind Yeti will still be a good pick due to the stats, though, and probably won't drop much.
Anybody see a reason to why you would ever want to use Chillwind Yeti over Mechanical Yeti? The biggest difference is that Mechanical is a Mech and Chillwind isn't which should make Mechanical superior.
Because the Deathrattle of the Mech Yeti is a symmetrical effect, meaning your opponent does gain something as well.
it gives the opponent a spare part for free. Cards that give your opponent anything at all are usually seen as trash. This isn't trash...but it's not STRICTLY better than a yeti. Close to better, and I hate power creep...but i'm ok with this.
ooo, c'mon, Chillwind Yeti has no fun. No effects, nothing. This card has the stats, and is Deathrattle so have synergy with more cards. Plus the spare parts
A potential card for mill decks? Great stats, and adds to your opponents hand. Not much, granted, but if they already had 9 cards :D
I think this card is only slightly better then yeti on average.

Scarlet Purifier trades with this but not Chillwind Yeti. The Deathrattle is also symmetrical. Also with the introduction of neutral cards that interact with tribal we may see anti-mech cards in the future.
This is not power creep, it has both upsides and downsides. If you are not running a mech deck, or any mech synergy, this card is only a yeti with a symmetrycal underwhelming deathrattle. Why would you run this card over the normal yeti if you have no ways to take advantage of the mech tag? to weaken yourself giving the opponent cards and a possible weakness (deathrattle or mech) to exploit? if theres an anti mech card ( and i think there will be) , this will be even easier to remove than normal yeti, though it will be top arena pick, just like its older bro.
TL;DR, different cards, both with advantages and disadvantages, roughly same power =/= power creep

I don't think people see, how insane this card is. The deathrattle is equivalent for both player, so whatever(for the most part). Yeti was already insanely good, a mech yeti is maybe OP, because of all the possible synergy. It even has some added value in a Violet Teacher & Auctioneer decks or deathrattle decks.
If anti-mech or anti-deathrattle cards exist, Yeti won't necessarily be obsolete. Also, depending on the deck, spare parts might be better for your opponent than your own.
Still find it hilarious they gave mech a Yeti clone.

No sir. Dr. Boom is strictly better than War Golem. Frostbolt is strictly better than Darkbomb. These are examples of powercreep. This card is not always better than yeti.
frostbolt came before darkbomb, lol... creeping backwards?

If i dont play a mech deck I would take the old Yeti. Because, ...
1. the Deathrattle isn't good or bad it's rng.
2. There are cards against deathrattle mionis
3. If my oponent steals the card or the minon and he has mech synagies he get more value then me.

There are anti-deathrattle cards now too, so it's not necessarily better than a Chillwind Yeti.

Ok guys. You know how everyone keeps arguing over power creep? Ohno, that's not power creep?Yeah.. THIS is power creep. Yeti is still used in druid decks too.Though I guess it helps push mech to midrange more.
Edit: ok it's not power creep as others have said below this one. :P
One does not simply walk into Mordor,
unless they want to be the best they can be.
Why not use both this, AND old yeti?
:D
Scarlet purifier players will love this.
Vision without action is a dream. Action without vision is a nightmare.
Because you're dropping 4 cards from your deck for both. Only 30 cards after all.
