The fact that this card is being compared to Duskfallen Aviana, shows all you need to know about how bad people are at evaluating cards.
I mean, even if you are lazy and miss the big difference in their card text (Nozdormu is battlecry, so you can't just kill the minion and disrupt the opponents combo), is it too hard to just look at the massive stat difference?
This is NOT as bad as Duskfallen Aviana. Duskfallen allowed your opponent to have turns with more than 10 mana, this still caps their turn at 10. And the stats are good enough to contest anything big they might play. It isn't necessarily good, but it doesn't even approach being as bad as Duskfallen.
Why is this being voted as meta-defining? The card is just bad. Not Duskfallen Aviana levels of bad like some people are suggesting but it isn't good either.
First of all getting a 4 mana 8/8 is relevant, that's a big body, but if you play it on curve then you're eliminating all the tempo you are gaining with all those stats at such low cost. Why? Well cause you get 6 extra EMPTY mana crystals which means you have to simply end your turn but you're giving your opponent 10 full crystals for their next turn. So, you cheated out like 3 mana (8/8 is arguably a vainilla 7 mana minion), but then giving full mana to your opponent means that you technically also lose 3 mana so you really aren't doing much.
This will maybe work if paladin gets some more class or neutral solid big boys and then you play some sort of EZ BIG EZ PALLY, cause if you're just gonna ramp your opponent up and still play some aggro or mid-range type paladin then you're gonna lose a lot. Giving your opponent mana is never a good idea, and no, the fact that it's a mirrored effect doesn't make it good or decent, just look at Biology Project, It has always sucked, so now imagine ramping your opponent for 6 mana, sounds even worse. Oh and btw even if that EZ BIG EZ paladin deck was a real thing then it's gonna be brick city all the way through; you'll rely completely on drawing Nozdormu the Timeless early or your hand is gonna be dead forever. You're not druid from 2 years ago which has a lot of different ramp cards or Priest which had all the resurrect cards. Bad card overall
the effect is slightly confusing, do we get 10 mana crystals to use after playing this or 6 after spending 4 mana for this?
Either way I think this is an insane card will allow for some big swing turns. If you get 10 mana crystals after playing this on turn 4 then you can rebuke and equality consecrate with an 8/8 on board after. Also huge evolve buff. Pretty fucking nutty if you ask me.

We're getting six empty mana crystals if I'm not mistaken. We can only use them on our next turn.
I don't think in the next expansion I will see aggro decks, pure greedy deck Not even Big Paladin, in addition the opponent takes advantage first is not equal to Astral Communion

No the mana is set to 10 . Wich means on turn 4 if you play him, you get 6 additional empty mancrystals.
Today i asked Viper about this Legendary. My argument was that in the history of HS , it has always been bad to give your opponent anything... He also agreed that its not a very good card ( not Duskfallen Aviana bad , but still..) . Its simply very unlikely that quest-control-combodecks etc. all dissapear. And unfortunately those decks can use 10 mana pretty easy.
so 4 mana 8/8! extremely good stats but in the other hand u r giving ur opponent 10 mana the next turn which is enough for him to deal with ur 8/8 (hex, death, slam etc. ) and take the lead. we already know how bad are cards like this ( millhouse manastorm, nozari, generous mummy etc.). we'll see

There is a huge difference between this card and Milhouse though.
With Milhouse, the card strength depends on your opponents deck. If your opponent actually has no spells, Milhouse is incredible. I think Wild Pirate Warrior only runs Upgrade, but other than that I can't think of any competitive deck that hasn't at least one high impact spell. That's why Milhouse is terrible.
This card however, depends more on your own deck than your opponents. You will construct it to take full advantage of the 6 Mana ramp.
So even if your opponent uses Hex to remove your 8/8 and plays a 6 drop, you will then also be able to remove his 6 drop and play your powerful high cost cards afterwards. In that scenario the impact of Nozdormu was pretty low and not much changed, but from that point onwards you have the dedicated deck to play at 10 Mana while your opponent might have not.
Damn, It looks like I'm goona build a wild dragon divine shield reno paladin. Using Nozdormu, Bolvar, Glass Knight, Nozari and every dumb sh*t I can shove in it
I clear your board with one of the many board-clear combos available to Paladin. Or even something as simple as Batterhead.
You now have no board and no hand, and I can play all the big cards that come my way much, much sooner than normal. Meanwhile, you're still drawing one tiny cheap thing at a time.
Or, in the late game, it's just a 4-mana 8/8 that I can support with my 6 remaining mana.
If I recall my Barnes math, you have a bit over a 30% chance to draw this on or before turn 4 when you hard mulligan for it.
There's a history of high roll decks of this nature being competitive enough if the rest of the deck is able to tread water when the high roll is missed.
I don't think Paladin has that deck right now, but it could manifest over the next 3 sets that this card is legal.
With 2 Call to Adventures in your deck, and without any other draw cards (or minions under 5 mana besides Nozdormu the Timeless), the probability to be able to play him on turn 4 (either as a 10/10 or 8/8) is 66.9%!

Say I'm control and you're aggro.
I play this on 4.
You vomit your hand.

That seems pretty insane! Any other draw spells such as Blessing of Wisdom (on an opponents minion or a Silver Hand Recruit) or Flash of Light just ups it that much more.
Note: this probability is when you're NOT on the coin!
Extra Note: on the coin, it jumps to 74.7%
