I think this is better than a lot of the haters give it credit for. Paladin does actually have good clears and heals once they get the mana for it so the downside isn't that big. I think if paladin had a good late game strategy to ramp to this card would be great in that deck. The issue is that Paladin just doesn't have a deck like that. Not a bad card per se but I don't expect it to see play any time soon.
What is really infuriating is that Paladin is not exactly in a great spot now and it is far from overpowered as a class. It really, really needed good cards this set. It got a mixed bag, as usual. Most in my view are mediocre. And the one thing - the ONE THING that could really have helped push Dragon Paladin over the top into at least tier 2 was denied them. That being a solid 1 drop Dragon.
They are never going to add another one drop Dragon again. Or I doubt they will. Dragons are meant to have high costs and big stats. The ONE exception is Twilight Whelp (which is a weird, weird card) and then Faerie Dragon is the next cheapest (which wasn't really designed to be a dragon or part of dragon decks).
There are a handful of 3 drop dragons in the new set, but they're explorer cards, or a card with a strict requirement for playing it.
Anyway, I think you might be jumping the gun on dragon paladin. There are a lot of good dragons in the new set, some of them have rush which works very well with handbuff synergies (and curves perfectly). There have honestly been a lot of dragon paladin plays that haven't seen play because of the lack of dragons, and the lack of a good deck to run them, but now there are a plethora of excellent dragons in the neutral set, and I personally think the dragons they added to Paladin are pretty good.
This card really pisses me off. What a waste of legendary spot. It is completely useless - and potentially a gift to your opponent who will crush you the following turn. I wondered if there could be some win condition for Paladins with 10 mana but no, this is just pure garbage.

So we get this nonsense instead, which combined with the 10 mana "heal both players to 30" make me wonder if the developers have a secret hate on for Paladin at this point.
100% agree.
The thing i am complaining about is that Paladin never gets any aoe after Enter the Colloseum. They only seem to support an aggressive wheeny style of archetype. Although according to Blizzard, healing is a Paladin class identity, and healing is always for a Control deck. Shirvalla OTK being the exception here.
Btw speaking about a 1 drop, i was even considering a Bloodclaw for a midrange Dragon Paladin, since we got good healing but no way to finish or compete with other classes in the lategame. But even then... there’s just so much rush minions in the game I have serious doubts about a midrange Dragon Paladin.... Maybe only if aggro becomes super popular.
Besides that, Nozdormu might actually see some play here and there, cause of pick from discover a Dragon stuff. On turn 10 its a4 mana 8/8 , nothing more.....
Hitting this on turn 4 against super greedy, super late game decks will probably lose you the game. You would need some sort of Pyro +equality or the other one at 5 to give all minions 1/1 instead.
Against aggro or mid range, you CAN clear the board and then they will be out of resources if they dump their hand onto the board.
So I think this is one of those cards that you go for it and try to have board clears or someway to negate the opponent from plopping down a big boy.
Lay on Hands is playable for sure then, because you could heal for 8 and look for your 2 card board clear combos too.
If anything, this card is going to be skill testing. You dont just play it on turn 4 automatically. You need to base that on what your opponent is playing.
Against Hunter or Rogue though, I think this is a VERY BAD card. Deadly Shot or Sap means they get to essentially use 10 mana, kill the dragon and pile more stats onto the board. That kind of tempo loss is really really bad.
Hunter plays Deadly Shot, then Singleton Brann and you are looking at a very early game loss.

Going to take the old duel pally list and sub vargoth for nozdormu. Call to adventure will tutor it out. Should be interesting.
