This card needs a redo, make it a 4 mana card and adjust the transformation to 6/6. People would go nuts about it, druids would run Jungle Panthers and stuff.
Do we really want to give Druid a 4 mana 6/6 though? That's a pretty scary thought.
Save the chicken from Gnomish Experimenter and on turn 5 you have a 7/7 and a 4/4 for 5 mana, pretty good combo.
Oh absolutely! I can see the Druid chicken deck being a real meta breaker!
you got the card wrong the druid will become 7/7 not the beast!
Oh damn, my bad but still if you had the experimenter for even more draw in arena, you could still have a 1/1 and a 7/7 for 5 mana not completely horrible, It would be kind of a cool combo to pull off in arena especially since you could hold on to the 0 mana 1/1 chicken and play it with the druid on turn 5.
You would have to put at least 10 beast cards in your deck just to consistently draw a beast. On top of that, you need to play a beast first and guess what, the combo will not happen on turn 5 most of the time.
Let's recap:
- Druid of the Fang is not a turn 5 play since your turn 4 beast is not guaranteed to live. Thus you have to combo it at later turns.
- has to have many beasts in deck to reliably activate transformation
I love how they are making the druid have beast synergy. Really opens up some new options for a whole slew of cards already present for another class besides hunter. There should be motive to use these cards for other classes besides hunters since they are indeed neutral.
in WoW, shapeshifted Druids were vulnerable to hunter's Scare Beast ability. I know this isn't WoW, but this example does illustrate Bluzzard's thinking in the past. I think changing DotC's beast forms to beast would make perfect sense.
This. Also, shapeshifted druids were vulnerable to 'hibernate' - another beast only cc spell.
A "druid" humanoid is shape shifting into a beast, but its not a beast at heart. In thoery i can shape shift back and disappoint the druid of the fang. :P
While this argument holds merit, shapeshifted druids are classed as beasts, lorewise.
Transform this minion into a 7/7... what? dont they always transform into something?
It's an attempt to address the idiosyncrasy between Druid of the Claw and Ancient of War, where both say "+" but one is a Transform effect (that cannot be silenced) and the other is a Buff effect (which can).
Because this is a Transform effect, silence will not drop the 7/7 down to a 4/4.
So now Druid is getting beast synergy? I would love to see viable beast archetypes across multiple class. Having said that, this card alone won't do it. Good stats for a 5 cost when buffed. But bad stats for a 5 cost when not. Beast Druid doesn't have the same beast synergy Hunter has, and even then, beast Hunter hasn't been viable for awhile. Maybe that will change somewhat in GvG, but we need a lot more if this card is going to work.
I'm just going to say that if my opponent wants to waste his/her BGH bullet on this Druid, that's a plus IMO. Ragnaros would really appreciate the favor.
People forget that no other class is able to get minions on the board than druid with Wild Growth and Innervate. Creepz, stealth tigers @ 3 and 5 mana make this a pure value on the following turn unless they are AOEd down, which rarely happens. Its hard to actually say for certain, but maybe it will be a win more card if the druid has superior tempo to begin with. This card will likely not swing any games in your favor.

i think it's completely logic for druid to have interactions with beasts BUT they need druid of the claw transformations to be beasts life the panther
Looks like I may be trying out druid again once GvG drops. :D This is a nice card.

unsilenceble 7/7 for 5 is very good if you get the 0 mana chicken
I thought Brode confirmed it was a wisp with a beast tag, Why would angry chicken be 1 mana with an enrage effect and regular chicken be 1 mana too?
Actually heres a link to the regular chicken token/card: http://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Chicken
lol dat face and what is he holding with that hand Kappa
Back in the days (when hunters sucked) I remember seeing Stranglethorn Tiger in Dr00d. Maybe he is coming back idk
If there was a place for a 5 mana 7 attack minion, decks would run Venture Co Merc.
This card is garbage.
Just to note, since it transforms, silence shouldn't take away the buff since it will just be a 7/7, not a buffed 4/4.

Just wondering could they be changing druid of the claws transformations to count as beasts?
can it be silenced?

that could be a welcome change imo, as well for the Power of the Wild Panther if they are really going with this
pretty nice card
