Curious if highlander decks will stick around. Zephrys the Greatseems really strong and would be the card that makes those decks viable...also he looks really fun to play but again, the restriction. What do you guys think? Think it's a safe craft this early in the expansion or should we hold on to our dust and see where the meta leads?
definitely a craft if you are interested in any of the "Explorers" i crafted him for singleton hunter(i have a decklist for it shameless (butt)plug) and every time i've played him it's been really great, there has been some talk of just using him in non-singleton decks, but that is more of a meme than plot twist warlock.

Those who are given more in life, must not cling to it, but risk it all at every moment!
He's an insanely good card, and the archtype will always be spotty, but i've found that druid and shaman both run surprisingly good highlander decks as their quests give you some pretty strong synergies with some mediocre cards to make good cards. The fact of the matter is though that highlander decks will always suffer consistency issues since you have 50% less chance to draw your best cards, and also your opponent will know when you've used an option making it easier to avoid.
If you enjoy highlander decks though, this guy is a must have
In Wild, I would say a resounding Yes. If you like those highlander style decks. It is an easy slot into most decks and will get you value everytime you play it. Maybe not the 'perfect' card as it promises, but it gets you a card anyhow. Highlander decks need value to win and this is a good value card at 2 mana.
In Standard, I am still on the fence. If you don't care about the Meta and love Highlander that much, then go for it. You will always be glad to play it and its a fun card. But if you do care about the metagame and want to compete on ladder, I would hold off on any legendary crafts for now. Especially a deck archetype that might ONLY be viable in Hunter it seems in Standard.
I legitimately have a decent win rate with a rogue deck who's sole purpose is to bounce Zephrys back to hand as many times as I can. The card WILL win games, and as far as I can tell is definitely worth the sacrifice of going Highlander. I would craft immediately if I were you.
I don’t need to craft him I golden one for pre purchase.
Why would you comment this? It doesn't help OP at all.
Because he got a golden one for the pre purchase Nohva. His enthousiasm and not having to craft it give one the hint it's a must have. Get a golden one or craft it but you must have it.
It may very well be the most valuable card of the entire game. Craft it! ....or receive a golden one somewhere! ;)
Some people (myself included) thought Highlander decks wouldn't see play. They are. Either way you look at it, it's a powerful card that could potentially see a nerf (mostly due to the feel bad play experience). I would say easy craft if you have any interest in a singleton deck, card is strong and versatile.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
If you are looking to try hard, I am concerned about the longterm viability of Highlander decks. That said, Zephrys the Great is the most interesting, fun card in the expansion and Highlander decks can be enjoyable to play. Pulling off lethals with Zephyrs is very amusing. So, in fun terms, I would say yes to crafting him.

This is must have card, for me it is MVP of this expansion and one of best designed cards ever.
I mean wild exist so ofc it's worth a craft.
I dont agree, I have very good time with Highlander Hunter and Mage. Shaman and Driud are also viable. Zephrys makes your opponents cry.
I don’t need to craft him I golden one for pre purchase.
I was with 20-6 with highlander secret hunter rank 5 until got rank 2.
Zephyros is worth to create trust, this card is really good. And if u dont like highlanders decks, u can also play in murloc paladin.
One of the best if not the best hearthstone card ever.
He saved me so many times that I stopped counting.
Btw. not worth playing in turn 2-5 :) (only vs braindead token druid)
Best Card sure.
Best for the decks? Too soon. Highlander decks just came back, need time.
It's a great card and definitely worth crafting. They even had to put "great" in his name because of how great the card is.

MVP , you got problems with anything on board? Ask him for a "wish"
My current mage deck (wild,reno,otk,highlander)
My current hunter deck (wild,reno,highlander)

Well worth the craft, so much fun and won me so many games.

Dad, husband, gamer, fueled by coffee.
Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.

100% craft IMO, Highlander cards will only get stronger every XPAC. and he will be around for awhile so now is the time.
