Am I the only one who is scared as shit by the new shaman's quest ? it's the easiest to complete and the one with the most powerful reward.
the interaction between the quest and lackey generators/lackeys, lifedrinker, weaponised wasp, sandstorm elemental, etc... looks just too powerful, it can push tons of damage to the face and still keep the board control
My hype for Uldum slowly vanished because I can't think of a rogue deck that can compete with quest shaman
Remember when everyone was on how OP the hunter quest in Un’Guro was? Day 1 quest for the power gamer, going to completely shape the meta? Call for nerfs before it was even released? All I’m saying here is everyone’s theorycrafting goes the hell out the window compared to a live expansion.
My prediction, I think it will be pretty strong but you’ll be thanking Blizzard it’s there because it will keep warriors in check.
In my opinion its also the most powerful quest in this expansion. Easy to complete, requirement goes perfectly in hand with the reward and totally fits in Shaman.
I am also kinda scared but we will see how the new cards are doing. There might be new decks that overshadow Quest Shaman.
But if its going to lead the meta, it will defintily get nerfed. Uldum has pretty strong cards. I hope that they nerf the quest in a way that the hero power cost 3 or even 4. Brann is such a strong legendary and you get his effect as a heropower which is totally obnoxious.

it's not the same, there wasn't pre-release at this time, and I never believed in hunter's first quest
Priest quest is pretty sick too. Especially with the inner fire, topsy combo. I dont think shaman quest is op. It got a lot of good tools and can be a powerhouse, but we shouldnt jump to conclusions.
I am scared because of fkn Lifedrinker 6 damage to head and 6 heal 2 of those mosquito are able to halve your health while filling half of his life with fkn shaman with shudderwock you fkn lose the game without being able to do a shit.
Quest itself alone is ok but as I say with that broken battlecries that target directly the head and existence of Shudderwock is the problem. That makes it impossible to play around.
There will be two option against this deck. Aggro that is fast enough to deal with it or a fast enough otk deck
In all seriousness, I think it'll be strong, but not that broken. Big shaman's going to be worse imo because of Plague of Murlocss and Earthquake completely destroying other control decks on top of the fact that it was already good at staying alive with good healing, clears, and taunts.
The quest is powerful, but shaman is still bad at drawing cards, so if you kill their Mana Tide Totems, their hero power is going to be useless most of the game. It's scary on big power turns, but there's only so many times they can do that before they run out of steam.
Also, the most OP deck in the expac by far is going to be some sort of midranged big spell mage. Puzzle Box of Yogg Saron is insanely broken, and there's literally a card that makes it cost 5 instead of 10.... Not to mention, there's another card that makes it so it becomes a 10 10 minion if you don't play it, not to mention there's another card that's 8 mana and lets you play an 8 mana puzzle box the same turn with a 5 5 body, not to mention mage got an Innervate that draws a card (the 2 mana draw a secret spell). Yeah it's going to be fun playing against tier 1 aggressive midranged casino mage... At least it'll actually be fun to play the deck yourself though.

Puzzlebox ain't that good, thats too rng to be top tier
It's honestly looking like a good deck cause it can go for all the shaman control tools which are very good and it still has a very strong finisher in bombs + life drinker chip.
You can put like between 4 to 6 bombs on your opponents deck with the hero power and some combination of elekk and seafourioums and from there the shudder just puts more bmore, the deck looks quite strong from a theorycraft pov.
The one big problem control shaman has rn is that it's pretty much only a heavy anti-aggro deck but it has no real win condition against slower decks but with this quest and the control tools it got you can easily destroy fast decks and then just wait untill the bombs kills one slow ones.
Yes is absolutely OP and will be the #1 cancer deck. The quest is easily completed in 6 turns and after that, the Shaman can use the Barista to get an unstoppable machine gun based on Lackeys and wasps. If this was not enough Shudderwock is the ultimate win condition: just play it and you win. No skill is needed, who arrives first win.
As usual Team 5 sucks at balancing their stuff. Nothing new.
The thing that makes this quest good is the fact that the reward has insane synergy with the cards that you use to complete it. Hardly any quest does that. You play seven Deathrattles, you play Amara, and then - what to do with the Deathrattles? You add four other-class cards to your hand, get your upgraded daggers, and then - your burgle cards are not what you want to draw. This quest though - you play Battlecries, and your reward is... more Battlecries. You don't really have the before/after relation (e.g. old Priest quest: Deathrattles before completion/copy effects after completion), you just have: play Battlecries/Lackeys/etc -> the quest gets naturally completed -> you go on playing your Battlecry cards, but with twice the power.
However, I am really hyped for this quest and I really want to try it day 1 of the expansion.

might be wrong tho
Sir, you must have never played against Yogg'Saron. All I'm going to say, there was a reason the card got nerfed.
It is. I do think that the reward is fair, but they should increase the number of battlecries needed to achieve it because it is that powerful. Heart of Vir'naal into damage lackeys into Weaponized Wasp is too scary.

Yea im also afraid of that quest, you can build full on face deck with it and put shudderwock as finisher, disgusting ammount of face dmg

It is op, but not op enough against lackey zoolock with Dark Pharaoh Tekahn and Plague of Flames.
