This getting Rush from a Lackey or Hooktusk seems decent enough in a pirate build. You trade into a 4/4 and then you bounce whatever else is left over. The issue is without rush, the opponent can play around this and possibly abuse it.
If there is a dedicated Deathrattle deck, I could see this as a decent way to deal with a single buff minion. Otherwise, this card is like the 3 drop Mech in hunter that destroys a random minion.
The difference is that it returns it. so that can backfire in some cases. Also, it doesn't have Magnetic or Rush like the Hunter card.
Yep I think that the sap idea is good but when you don't have control of it you may give your opponent the "return to hand" to a valuable minion. I wouldn't play it.
The card reminds me of Anub'ar Ambusher. It was rated very well when it was revealed then didn't see any play in 5 years. Deathrattle bounce effects are too hard to control. On the other hand, sap effect is much more powerful than brewmaster effect, and the synergy is there with deathrattle and pirates.
I guess there is hope for this card. But it's probably overrated.
I don't think that this will be effective in most situations. If it had taunt, it would be much more effective, but, as is, its effect isn't that impressive (ie. battlecry would be superior to deathrattle) and it is below neutral stats (ie. a 5/4 would be FAR better)
It's crap because your opponent can bounce his battlecry minions. In a rogue mirror give your opponent evil miscrant back to his hand is a disaster
The power level of this is pushed heavily, I think you need to get your card evaluation seriously adjusted to think in that one narrow scenario it makes the card poor. This will go in multiple archtypes much like Miscreant does, bouncing a Giant back to their hand with a turn 3 necrium blade at the very least.
But it's not a narrow scenario. This card's effect is a Deathrattle, which makes it very likely your opponent will be the one who chooses the timing. Also, you have chosen a very narrow scenario in which the card is marginally good -- not a great debate strategy when you've literally just accused someone of a similar tactic.
Generally, this is the type of card where you find yourself "playing around" your own effects in order to get what you want out of them. That's usually not a recipe for success. It's not a problem when you include an OK card that gets better when you play it with synergy, but it is a problem when you include a card that might have good synergy but is often very bad when things don't match up.
In other words, if you don't find your rush or deathrattle activator to go with this, you cannot afford to play it. That makes it a highly questionable inclusion when Rogue has so many other, better single-target removal cards.
Sometimes it's meh, other times your opponent get's value from it, and very rarely you get good value from it. On paper seems good but in practice it's been quite underwhelming. The best mileage you can get out of this card is to pull it out of your deck with the Pirate chick, but I don't think Pirate decks will be a thing for now.

Agreed. This card should be a battlecry. The Anka combo potential is super limited.
As a Deathrattle effect It's mediocre at best but it would have been absolutely busted as a Battlecry. Imagine a 4 mana 4/4 Battlecry "Return a random enemy minion to the opponent's hand." You might manipulate the board so it could even bounce untargettable minions (e.g. a Eternium Rover which had been magnetized with Beryllium Nullifier) which sounds clearly broken for such a low cost.
I have a feeling that this card, similar to Ticket Scalper, requires a deck with both Serrated Tooth and especially a pirate package including Captain Hooktusk. These have seen modest play in the last few months and Hooktusk Rogue is arguably the best anti-aggro Rogue deck. The question is, can it hold its own in the current meta where Rogues usually plays highly aggressive?

This is playable at best.

Another reason to build deathrattle rogue in the next meta. Im not 100% sold on it, but Im gonna try this for sure.

Annoying arena card to face but won't see constructed play. Too unreliable.

Well, all I can say is Big Priest probably hate this, and it's siblings.
I will play this in Hooktusk Rogue because of it's tag. It lacked pirates and this is decent enough.
Always expect the unexpectable!
im not sure its very good, no control rogue has ever worked. But I want to be proved wrong
It is very good in tempo also because it is a natural taunt that you should not leave on board

Without Rush this card is very weak but can force some awkward trades for the opponent, playable at best.
I love it when my opponent plays this in Arena. Yes, please, I would like to repeat my battlecries. Thank you!
