Is it just me or does it seem like League of EVIL are MILES ahead of Saviors of ULDUM in terms of power level. Saviors get ok-ish highlander legendary cards ( in a meta which bomb warrior is very relevant) and League of EVIL get this, Anka, Corrupt the waters, and Amet wish imo are all VASTLY superior. maybe we'll see some better cards in the coming week but for rn the LoE are definitely on the high end this expansion.
I guess we are supposed to defeat them in the last expansion ;)
I love the doomsday predictions about zoo lock suddenly being tier one.
There are currently ZERO viable warlock decks in competitive play. Zoo isn't even breaking 50% when NO ONE is teching against it.
I certainly hope these cards bolster warlock significantly, but Cable Rat is a terrible card, sooooo . . . so far we have very little with which to pair with this card.

well it's supposed to be a storyline so making things really dire at this point makes sense, i just hope it doesnt end being like mtg where edgy darkside 12yo emo fantasy always ends-up winning, it was cool the first two or three times, but by the time new phyrexia rolled out everyone was tired of it.
we will probally be getting more lackey generators each of the villain classes i mean shaman and warrior got it, why leave the class that represents the leader of the league of evil without a extra lackey generator ? plus this fits in zoo anyways even without a extra lackey generator, 1 mana 4/4

Funnily enough LoE can stand for either League of EVIL or League if Explorers. lol
People are going nuts here. This needs way more Lackey generation to be OP. How many Lackeys can Warlock get currently, 6... So if you've got a full board of Lackeys (ALL 6) THEN you're getting the Crystal Core effect. People are over-rating this. Let's wait and see if more Lackeys become available.

This is a great card, but not quite meta defining. Will zoolock cut Leeroy for this?

I don't think Zoolock runs Leeroy currently. Could be wrong. But in all honesty here, I just don't see this card being played in Zoolock unless they get a LOT more Lackeys. Six Lackeys in total just isn't enough. Now Warlock has the EVIL Recruiter which I feel is superior to this card and that DESTROYS a Lackey. I just don't see it unless more Lackey cards are released.
Nice, instead of making a card like Defile that would allow control warlock to survive against shitbrain aggro decks, instead they're printing more and more cards that let aggro decks thrive. I can live with aggro existing but a game can't survive if the only meta is aggro and the only class that gets control support is Warrior, whom already has a deck entirely made out of removal
While the card isn't bad, I have my doubts that 47.3% of voters have correctly guessed that it's the best card of the set.
Ideally, Zoo doesn't want to play this card, since that deck wants to end the game before it can start cashing in on the value inherent in playing buffed Lackeys turn after turn - in order for Dark Pharaoh Tekahn to be good, the game has to last long enough to draw a critical mass of buffed Lackeys, which ultimately help steam-roll most opponents. We don't know how big that critical mass needs to be - but I suspect it isn't one, or two or three.
On-curve, it's a bad play, and in order to recover from the tempo-loss of playing a vanilla 4/4 on turn five, a Zoo deck will need a very snow-bally turn six. Playing 4/4s for 1-mana is potentially a good way to begin that recovery, but if you don't have a couple Lackeys in hand that actually impact the board, then you are just playing more vanilla stuff - you'll lose to any faster deck, and give slower decks the time they need to draw into their answers.
FWIW - I voted "Playable," but if there was a button between Playable and Bad, I would have pressed it. We'll see in a couple weeks, I suppose . . .
It's laughable that there are actually people (Peter included!) trying to compare this to something a zoolock would run, or comparing it to Caverns Below.
Sure, it can be good with the right amount of support, but Warlock don't have nearly the same amount of lackey generation as Rogue. This card just remind me of a 1 mana cheaper, warlock version of The Mistcaller. While its effect was powerful, it wasn't played because it came in way too late to make any meaningful impact. This affects even less cards, and even though it have the potential to affect the board by way of buffing Lackeys already on board, the opponent will just prioritize killing those lackeys, and this is a bad tempo play that Doesn't Do Anything When It Hit The Board in other case. If I'm actually ahead of the board, do I want to play a 4/4 that might buff my 1/1, or do I just play something like...Leeroy, or a Sea Giant?
Nevertheless, if a deck actually plays Tekahn, it'd be more of a Lackey focused midrange/control kind of deck rather than zoolock.
It's a snooze for me, at least until Warlock hit critical mass in lackey generation.
I'll cast my vote of the "Lady In White that everyone on Hearthpwn think is gonna be crazy and needs a nerf but will never be played" on this one. You can't even keep this at the mulligan as Zoo, you'll always prefer a million times to fish for 1 drops, lackey generator and EVIL recruiter. So if you don't mulligan for it and have only one copy of it, realistically how often will you play this in a game ? And how many lackeys do you really hope to buff with this 5 mana 4/4 ? On a very good game you'll play this on 5 and have, maybe, a couple lackeys to play as 4/4s before the game is over ?
only a filler, in a zoo you don't need it. oh and it's expensive, at turn 5 with a zoo you should've reduced your opponent's health to a really few to win
I guess we are supposed to defeat them in the last expansion ;)
It's good, but not broken good like people seem to think.
There are plenty of logistical issues that limit the consistency of this card.
It's definitely worth including in your Lackey Zoo, and it will be a lot of fun, but it's really no better than the good cards in other classes.

This card is slow, it does not have enough support(for now), also probably wont be used in aggro decks. 2 stars

One question:
Why has THIS Tekahn a other artwork than the Tekahn from Dalaran Heist?

At least has some anti synergy with the 4-mana 8/8

1 star. 4/4 for 5 mana is bad and the effect is weak.

Because they’re in Uldum now. The Heist art has Dalaran in the background.
It's gonna be in midrange. Not zoo.
