This is absurd. Arcane tyrant was an insane card in druid, and a 4/4 is worth 3 mana where a 3/5 taunt is worth closer to 3.5 mana (sen'jin is not a horrible card at 4). Adding more immediate board impact to your big draw spells is crazy, especially since we've seen another big draw spell, and if you're playing the quest you will probably be playing starfall and hidden oasis which this has great synergy with.
This is one of those cards that is just way above the average power level and it will clearly see play in any deck that can meet its condition consistently.
Why is blizzard reprinting and powercreeping so many neutral cards into class cards? That's not what they used to do, I don't really like it..
It's not powercreep. Class cards are supposed to be stronger than neutral ones. There is nothing wrong about it, and printing class cards similar to neutral ones is neither a new thing.
I don't think it's meant to be played at turn 5 for 0 mana. It's more a tool to reduce your tempo loss. Of course this could be at turn 5 and would still be great, but the card is also later in the game. When you use a high cost spell as a druid such as ramp or - as we see in the next expension - heal or card draw, you have gigantic tempo loss on the board. This card helps you to stay on your toes. It protects you or a valuable minion (and 3/5 is weak ofcourse but definitely fair). It won't stop aggro or anything but that would just be broken. I think it's an auto include in Druid control just for the reducement of tempo loss.

Kinda forcing a control druid build that doesn't exist
Overflow now exists, so this card is nutty.

Just a very good card will see play
Great after a Starfall or Hidden Oasis, but not sure it is run with the Untapped Potential.
Very strong card 3/5 taunt is better than 4/4 and arcane tyrant was a staple in the UI days.
Carpe Diem - Seize the day
