How come mage gets absolutely insane cards every expansion? And for the last 4 expansions warlock has gotten the worse cards ever
Might be cause Warlock dominated meta for quite some time. Remember cards like VoidlordGul'danSkull of the Man'ari evergreen Doomguard archetypes: even lock, cubelock. That is what blizz does put class to T1 and after few expansion reduces it power level so other classes can be playable as well.
The card (stand alone) is great. The effect is strong with a reasonable Secret cost. But... Secret Mage doesn't have the tools anymore. The burst speed and secret synergies are WAY weaker than previous expansions. So unless additional support comes out, what deck does this go in?
Secret Mage needed so much synergy to get to the point where it was actually good. It also had one of the best secrets ever printed. This deck is going to need a lot of work.
This card is really scary (a conditional Fireball stapled to a 4/4 for 1 additional mana), particularly because your opponent can discover it with Messenger Raven and so you could be facing up to 4 of these in a single game. along with two Fireball, two Frostbolt, and a Pyroblast. That is a lot of face-burn that can be packed into a single game if mages are able to survive that long.
In wild, this card is nuts and a natural partner to Ice Block.
This card for arena is great. Its a "medivhs valet" on steroids as an elementa. You could also look at is a "sunreaver warmage" but inatead a +5 cost spell you only need to control a secret, which is not hard. A "fireball" that gives you a 4/4 body for 1 mana more is realy good. I rate it 4/5.

Ugh. I @&*%ing hate secret mage. At least Mana Wyrm is still nerfed.
Most of the Warlock cards in Saviors of Uldum are extremely good so far.

Wild will become even cancerous with this.

Holy balls this is nice. Secret Mage might be interesting in standard, and insane in wild...
fuck off blizz, giving tools to one of the most annoying decks in wild, jesus fucking christ
This is the perfect mage card because it is an elemental, damage to the face, synergies with secrets and is odd, it has everything

Really? Just send all cards in this new expansion for Wild only, never see a new expansion so poor in Standard and so awesome in Wild.
Incredibly strong with Ancient Mysteries as single target removal and giving you tempo.
