It's not great, but it's probably the best of the bunch in terms of playability.
In Standard, as of right now, I think none of the new explorers is worth the build-around. But in Wild, Mage is the only class (out of the four) with access to Kazakus, and also has a bunch of strong cards for singleton decks, inlcuding Frost Lich Jaina. There's also Inkmaster Solia, but sadly she isn't good either. Perhaps if you also included Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, since Solia's main problem was the absence of powerful expensive spells.
Reno Mage isn't particularly good right now, even if Big Priest would magically disappear overnight, but honestly, if one of the new explorers has a chance to see play in a competitive deck it's probably this one. Again, new Reno isn't great, but I think it is worth including in a deck that is reasonably strong already. It's certainly easier to build a solid Reno Mage than a Reno Hunter, Druid or Paladin. And out of the others, I think only Brann has an effect that is good enough to even try.
Yup, I may craft this for my wild Renomage, but until big priest/Barnes gets nerfed, slow decks aren't a thing in wild with winrates in the 30% to 45% range depending on matchups. At least Renomage won't be too far behind Renolock thanks to this new card. I voted playable because of wild.
Well, Reno mage is doing ok vs big priest actually (unless priest highrolls Barnes on t3 with coin), I play it regularly in Wild. The class has access to polymorph spells (and can generate multiples through other card effects), and there's always Kazakus with mass polymorph,
I think you underestimate one thing about this Reno. He's a great tempo play, most of the times clear the board against aggro/midrange and put a resilient 4/6 body on the board allowing a tempo swing. Against heavier boards you are fine anyway cause that mean you are vs control and mage can handle it (return of polymorph maybe, playing a mirror entity on turn 3 to counter giants and heavy minions deck is fine especially since you need 30 singleton cards so the secret makes sense). I think he's well designed for the quest too, allowing to generate ressource with the new HP and twinspell make highlander more bearable.
All in all, people might find it uncool because ancient Reno was very powerful (win-game I might even say) but this version though maybe a bit bland is very powerful.
Unless there is some more no duplicates cards worthy enough to create no duplicate deck this is totally useless. But if there is this will be stronger than you think tho
Why would anyone decide to put 1 copy of each card into his deck in order to be able to do 10 damage splitted among all enemy minions!!!!
And this card is supposed to be soooo powerful that it needs to be Legendary????? Hahahahahahaahha. This might actually be the worst card ever created in the history of HS.
So the effect is comparable with a flamestrike. Would you want to have a flamestrike on a stick for 6 or just get a second flamestrike and not bother with having a highlander deck? Ehhh. Unless there are more cards to support this archetype (which I enjoy playing), this sucks.
The thing is that all other classes so far gets the same archetype (no duplicates) with AMAZING effects. Paladin gets to discover a new upgraded hero power, Hunter gets to instantly summon King Krush (8/8 beast with charge) etc...
I really cannot find a logic behind this card apart from trolling players
Nope, the efect is worse than flamestrike. Flamestrike will do 4 damage to all minions at the same time. This trash card will damage each minion for 1 damage each time untill it deals totally 10 damage. It is actually a double cinderstorm with a 4/6 body on board.
Is this april's fool day joke? Why are they printing cards from new standard set to be played only in wild? Same as brann, i cant see this card is playable in any way. Blizzard did just nullified us all. I was waiting for cool new mechanics, but they just printed some " when your decks have no duplicates " cards only playable with Reno Jackson in wild...
Looking at Lord Godfrey, now we know that -1 mana cost and +2 health is compensated by having no duplicates... lmao
Yep, this card needs TONS of other support in order to be playable. If you look at all the scenarios you would play this, it's either a 'win more' card or just a Lord Godfrey with a 1 mana discount. The reason why Lord Godfrey is good is for 2 reasons. Warlock has one of the best hero powers in the game so playing a 1 of anything is not a big deal to Warlock. But Mage has to include card draw IN their deck which means your deck is already weaker for it.
Support comes in the form of other cards that say..."if your deck has no duplicates, do X". Even if this is far more powerful than people are giving it credit for...Bomb Warrior says Hi.
I think this is the first time in Hearthstone history that a card is received so poorly and with such a letdown by part of the majority of the fanbase... And the worst is that that feeling is absolutely understandable...
Personally speaking, I was looking forward to something like the images attached...

This is a far superior version and fits the flavor of the art as well. I would have preferred this version. Even if you wanted to limit the damage to minions only. This means you get multiple triggers.
I would balance this card like other legendary that equipped a weapon for you. You lose 1 durability everytime you cast a spell, so at best you get 3 uses out of it.
So, with the Paladin Reborn quest, it appears we will be getting a decent amount of Reborn minions in this set. Depending on how they program the card will do absolutely nothing against the wave of Reborn minions running around.
Great, you clear the board, then what? Oh great, they came back AFTER your missiles finished shooting. Meaning your board clear did absolutely nothing.
Can anyone confirm how this effect will interact with Reborn? Because depending on the answer, this will break the card or means this is absolutely worthless in Standard.

Are you asking if a Reborn minion repeats its battlecry?
No, it does not. Battlecry happens only when you play the card from hand. Nothing else can trigger it unless otherwise stated on a card.

Reborn minions come back with 1 health. Just board clear then ping or Arcane Explosion/Arcane Missiles them away. It's almost as if you have to play specific cards in specific order to counter specific strategies... That's crazy right, Hearthstone is not a card game after all.
Mage isn't particularly weak to deathrattle so don't worry they will do just fine against reborn.
I feel like the effect is not good enough to play Highlander for. You could add in double copies of powerful cards to support your deck or win condition instead of having to rely on drawing this and maybe clearing a mediocre board. 2/5 stars.

Standard tears are delicious. Play wild guys it's fun.
