Jaina is LITERALLY a win button. I have never seen someone activate Jaina and get the benefits of her effect and not lose. Games with Control Mage ran like this.
Are you at turn 9 and above?
No? Well, keep trying!
If yes, is Jaina in your hand? If not, just wait a bit longer. If yes, congratulations! You win!
The fact that she spawns an Elemental when she's played is the cherry on top of bullshit. She got really insane when Rastakhan rolled around and Odd Mage had Voodoo Doll AND Janalai ready to say the big 'ol Fuck You to anyone who isn't playing Control.
Compared to machine gun priest which lead to the DK having to be nerfed? Or the Warlock DK which was a big part of why cube-lock was so powerful? Druid DK was massive in several high tier decks.
Jaina carried control mage decks but those decks were rarely above tier 2 and her hero power was useless if you were too far behind or couldnt actually kill with it.
I would argue that Anduin was worse before the nerf of Raza the Chained. Gul'dan was also much better at keeping you alive forever when Voidlord came out.
On its own though, Jaina might've been the craziest. Her or Rexxar anyway.
That's quite a statement, gul dan was staple in every warlock strategy and saw play even in zoolock, tyrion got equality nerfed, valeera got kingsbane nerfed, rexxar had 60% win rate when played post ww and anduin had raza nerfed and took away the meta for 4 months.
Jaina on the other hand saw extremely mediocre play except in the last expansion cycle.

Priest DK didnt get nerfed, Raza got nerfed. Cube lock was powerful for other reasons besides Warlock DK. Druid DK was good and versatile enough that could fit in any druid deck, in no way or form OP.
Other than that, Jaina is really strong yes, but i think Rexxar was worse in terms of OP, that card carried aggro decks to the end game.
Rexxar's power wildly varied depending on what was in the beast pool at the time (and Hunter's ability to make it to the late game). When the hero was launched he was crap.
I don't think any of the DKs in of themselves were too strong, they all felt really balanced to me (especially compared to the weapons and the quests). Just having that hero card which generated so much value on it's own feels really strong whenever it's played.
Popular opinion : Deathstalker rexxar was 10 times more unhealthy than Frostlich Jaina. The battlecry is way better and the hero power is better against 90% of decks
I've lost a lot of games by playing Jaina instead of controling the board on turn 9. I haven't lost a lot of games by playing Rexxar instead of Highmane on turn 6.
All Death Knights were obnoxious, even the second-tier ones. Dr. Boom is even worse (due to existing in a meta without the other DKs to balance him), and Hagatha and Zuljin are almost as bad.
Hearthstone would be in a much better place today if they had never been invented.

That is such hyperbole. Most combo decks beat it. Most aggro decks beat it. Did your sad midrange/control deck get countered? I'm sorry, but I remember even my control warrior and warlock decks outvaluing it and winning. You have to be careful with your trading and keep track of their cards.
You never beat someone who played Jaina? if so, that says more about you then it does the card. I do think the card isn't healthy (like several other DKs) but there is no need to lie.
Deathrattle hunter could beat mage after jaina, control priest had a shot, Holy wrath paladin could do it, mechathun decks existed, cloning gallery priest, I could keep going.
Let's be honest HS always looked up to MtG while trying to be casual friendly. Sadly they tried to copy in a way the planeswalkers style of card but came up with a very nefarious card. Hero cards are fun but all of them should be 10 mana no exceptions
Sometimes it's best to take it slow and not play anything to give her a ping target, Control Mage has very few actual threats. Then try to set up for your own big swing-turn that they can't easily board-wipe.
As a heavy user of control mage with DK (but only when control mage was good) i do think it is overpowered. At one point it felt straight up broken as the meta had only paladins and even shamans. But after a lot of priests joined the meta (and more came after release of broken shit like catrina), i think Jaina DK is overpowered as a single card, but the deck doesn't do well this time, even with jaina on 9.

So you lost against a control mage?
Maybe you should try a combo deck.

You Just need to practice more..
Heartstone in most cases are rock, scissors, papers matching: agro, control, combo.
Yup there is also mid range that outvalue control, or its faster then combo but most likly lose with agro...
You faceing one deck again and again and still lossing. Change to something that should counter them, Or take a brake if u dont have such.
jaina is a control win condition, ands a fatigue win condition, run something that wins before turn 9
i actually never saw a problem w jaina
always thought rexxar was the only unfair bs hero
Dont feel that Jaina was a problem, would vote for Rexxar instead

Is this an unpopular opinion? I thought it was pretty common knowledge it was between Rexxar, Jaina, and Gul'dan.
