As shown by Kibler, Plot Twist is almost there as an archetype. It is held back by the fact that it only really has 2 big turns.
This gives you a lot more big turns. There are still some problems with early game aggression, but at least this gives Warlock a well-defined end game.
The Plot twist deck already could go infinite so the endgame wasnt an issue and starting with 1 less card wont help with the early game problems.
The end game actually is an issue.
The deck has like 3 tempo plays, early mountain giant, Dorian+Plot Twist, and Betrug+Plot Twist. Afterwards, you're left playing 1 big idiot a turn, and that's pretty easy to handle.
With the quest, you can drop 2 big idiots a turn, and that's actually something.
Maybe if there are more "on draw" effects, that help Warlock to play a bit more passive. Flame Leviathan would be awesome in Warlock these days. But otherwise, I don't think it's good.
Sure, you can draw a lot of cards with Plot Twist. I'm not pretending you'd only end up with 5 cards left once the quest is completed. But once you have completed the quest, what are you doing? Half your remaining cards can cost 0 (since you will still draw a card per turn with regular cost), but what cards are in your deck that this cost reduction would give you a big advantage? Is your deck all lategame minions to get the most out of your hero power, or will there be cards that are just not impactful at roughly turn 8 and later, regardless of what they cost?
More importantly, Warlock doesn't have all that many lategame minions that are impactful. You can play Arch-Villain Rafaam, and then it's up to RNG. but there are quite a few bad legandaries around.
In the end, you get a tool that helps you to speed up in the lategame, but Warlock's actual problem is, that its lategame plan is not good enough compared to Warrior or even Shaman, and making it to the lategame is also not easy (though they will get a "plague" spell that likely helps with that).
Maybe I'm not seeing the potential of what is essentially Barnabus the Stomper for Warlock, but it's not very exciting. Especially not, since I fully expect that any Warlock with the quest would also become another deck that plays Archivist Elysiana.

The Betrug/Dorian build sucks IMO. You can play Elekks and go infinite, maybe add Barista + Omega agent combo and your endgame is really good. You dont need the quest for more value or strong lategame tempo plays.

No it won't, Warlock has no shortage of good board clears, they don't need a bad RNG clear.

TBH, if any variants were "good" they'd be seeing play. No variants are good, so none see play. The omega agent stuff is also really weak.

No versions are good because control warlock is not good. We might disagree about which build is better but I dont think that this quest helps about the real problems of control warlock in general.

If Warlock gets a good damage hero-direct-damage spell (like Soulfire, but without the discard etc) then you know that a MalygosOTK Warlock is seriously on the cards here...
you go 1st turn: start with 3 card in hand then you draw a card play this you have 26 card left in deck complete quest 6 card left in deck.
You go 2nd:start with 4 card draw a card, play this 25 card left in deck when you complete it 5 cards left.
You need card like plot twist or the portal demons from rise of shadowed to make this card more variable,So it might need more support since those card might not be enough. Also funny enough Bomb warrior will help you complete the quest faster.
plot twist, adding some cards into your deck to probably keep from fatiguing to death, maybe has some potential? if it works it'll work well, if it doesn't work it just doesn't work.
Just play normal control warlock with x2 new 2/3 minion, x2 3/2 return a minion to hand and Elysiana, you have a good chance to get one of your pieces for 0 manas (or keep the coin) and play multiple Elysianas, in discover you choose the more expensive ones and get them for 0.
Obviously this Quest is really strong, but this will need early support to even remotely become viable. Not to mention you're already going to miss turn 1 playing the darn Quest! This looks like it may suffer the same fate as Lakkari Sacrifice.

So Plot Twist decks may finally work for real? That's terrifying.

The interaction with plot twist will make this work. Now warlock needs a way to survive long enough to not die before they can profit.
Always expect the unexpectable!

..Only one that thinks its bad?

So this is what will happen.

Not a very fun deck but a playable one.
Plot Twist is finally playable!
