Just some fillings it is not a card you include in your deck.
It's bad design to put deliberately awful cards knowing they won't be played; they should be called out on this WAY more, it's just garbage to treat the playerbase like this, no other way to put it.

This card will see absolutely no play as it has no real purpose in Wild or Standard. I hope they see the numbers later and buff the card so that someone considers playing it in a deck. Add, draw a card to the text. Something, anything to make this playable.

They'll buff the card...as a different version in an expansion. They've made it clear they want basic (and classic) cards to be as shit-tastic as possible, the idea of buffing a basic card has a literal 0% probability.

calm down people this is a basic card, it's power level isn't supposed to be high and it's replacing one of the most abused combo cards the game has ever known. If you think this card is terrible, which it kinda is, it probably just means you haven't been playing this game very long

There are many Basic cards that see a great deal of use. And as Priest is currently by far the worst class in Standard replacing one of its more potent cards with a worthless piece of tripe was very unwelcome. Placing Mind Blast into the Hall of Fame wasn't a bad idea per se; but it should have been replaced with a card that would actually be helpful. Radiance could have been a 3-mana card like "Deal 1 damage to all enemies. Restore 1 health to all friendly characters." That card would have seen some use and would be very comparable in value to Fan of Knives and would have been a solid companion to Holy Nova.

Or it could mean the opposite, that having seen the direction of the game and how weakening the reason Hearthstone is what it is, that removing a potential win condition type car, a puzzle that didn't fit into most strategies, for what is essentially one of the worst cards ever printed, that all this is not actually good for the game. Apologists like you, who are more keen to demean people personally than be objective and critical, I see that as worse for the game, because there is no talking critically to people like you.

I have been playing since it was released in Beta. I have been part of the community since then as well. Basic cards have nothing to do with power level, but to illustrate and use it to compare to OTHER cards and expansions. It's for new players to compare Basic cards to better cards and make the logical conclusion to upgrade their deck. Usually by spending money or gold.
Basic and Classic cards can be powerful and have been for a very long time. Some of them are still used in decks today. The whole point of Mind Blast and other Shadow Priest like abilities was to show the 2 sides of Priest. They could heal or they could damage with healing. There was nothing wrong with this card by design. But if they want to move Priest away from the Shadow aspect, I feel that's the mistake.
I will also not take your bait and attempt at insulting people that you may disagree with. We all agree that the card is not worth playing. It's meant for new and free to play players to have a starting deck and collection. That doesn't mean it could have been a fun card to toy with or have some narrow use case in specific decks.
Go ahead and look it up, but I did a simple look through all the Basic cards (not even Classic) and this is what I found that was 'playable' but also nerfed due to its playability. Meaning the card was far too good and no other cards were being used in expansions. So your theory of Basic cards equals bad is patently false.
Honestly just adding Flash Heal or Binding Heal to the basic set would have been better than this and wouldn't have been a problematic card at all.

It's more that Mind Blast specifically enabled all these irritating combo decks that they don't really want to be good anymore. I think they want to take Priest in a more board-centric direction. Which was difficult when they also had a 4-mana 10 damage 2 card set to end the game with.
Looking forward to seeing netdeck priest whining AGAIN that they are the worst class and can't win against aggro.
1 mana heal 5 is premium value it doesn't get any better. This is a good anti aggro card. Late game can be played on the same turn as Plague of Death it is very significant against hunter/mage for example.
Sure this card only ever does one thing, can only target you face, no synergy with Auchenai effect, but it does that one thing very efficiently and if the meta gets to a point similar to the pirate warrior meta, trust me you will play this card and regret all the trash talking.
That being said I would very much appreciate if Blizzard finally decided to include Auchenai-friendly healing cards in the damn game.

bullshit, 5 hp heal is nothing against aggro even if it would be 8 hp heal, it would be just one more turn against aggro. This is also very bad card to draw in later game. Like many other mentioned this is clearly one of the worst cards printed.
if it could be targetted to friendly minions or hero, it might be remotely usable, but still not good card.

"just one more turn" yeah it's nothing right? What can you do with one more turn I mean.. You can't buy another turn or, even.. win the game, right? Lol

no, not against i.e. mech huntard, when you heal your face with 5 hp...
One thing this card will be good at is illustrating to the new player how healing has far less value than damage.
The comparable Basic card in Rogue, Sinister Strike, also hits only face, but it deals a mere 3 damage.
New players who notice this difference would be wise to think about why it is the case.
(Also, haters need to look at Sinister Strike, a card that pretty much never sees competitive play, and realize that that's just how Basic is.)
Go into your collection and look up Basic cards only. Then come back here and report how many are played and in competitive top tier decks. Not only will you be surprised, but the numbers you report here will be lower than the real number. Many of the Basic and Classic cards were already nerfed and/or Hall of Famed. If you add in those cards, you will see that some classes and some cards are in almost EVERY single deck no matter what type of deck it is.
Go ahead, I will wait.
It's false and disingenuous to say that Basic cards are bad and its ok if this card is bad too. Basic cards are some of the strongest in the game hence why many of them got nerfed. It's also why some of these cards in Arena are top tier cards. So both in Standard and in Arena, Basic cards are highly sought after.
If Blizzard wants to get away from this model and make everyone pay for newer and better cards, they need to nerf all the good Basic and Classic cards. This is what they are doing, slowly but surely. Within a year, you will see most of the Basic cards nerfed or HOF. That is their intent and design.
This Priest card is a symptom of a larger problem down the road for newer players. If the game chases away all of its Free to Play (or buy 50 packs per expansion type) players they will see that this is not good for them in the long run.
If I were to be a new player today and I was given a 'free' deck and then I go on ladder to try and have fun or get some quests done, I would be so frustrated and never come back to this game. What Blizzard needs to do is keep and maintain F2P players around. As many as possible and then they need to 'convert' these F2P players into payers. Even if the conversion rate is 1%, the more players you have, the more potential buyers you have.
So, No, Basic cards should NOT be bad. Should not be nerfed. And a new player should be able to play with a starter deck and only have to replace a handful of cards to start 'winning' and completing quests. This gives this new player more incentive to pay money for packs. It's all about psychology here.
If you tell a F2P player, that to be 'competitive' or to 'win' you need to drop $200 right away, you will lose that player and customer. If instead, you tell this player you ONLY have to spend $50 every 3 months for a full year, then that player stays. Guess what, the amount of money they spent is the same, but the psychology is different.
I want Hearthstone to be successful, so they can keep putting out content for all of us to enjoy. This will not happen if they chase away their own customers.

Innervate, Savage Roar, Swipe, Wild Growth, Tracking, Hunter's Mark, Kill Command, Animal Companion, Tundra Rhino, Frostbolt...
I could go on, but instead of making a post about lack of knowledge, do your own research first.
This card is terrible and doesn't have to be. That's why people are upset and the fact that Priest has a terrible starting collection for new players.

Right now you might as well just run regenerate if you want the healing. Unless you really wanna run a miracle priest deck.
It's a very low power basic card in a class that has low power and highly situational basic cards.
