It would not change anything in the meta. I have played a lot of games at rank 5+ where people play strong and complete Wild decks, and I have seen 1x DHlock who did not draw his combo and conceded early.
A big priest nerf on the other hand would make Rogues less common and open up for some more grindy value decks abusing DKs, N'Zoth and Jades.
A nerf to Voidcaller and Barnes would be fine imo, but they would have to nerf both at once. The paladin Giant combo is kind of disgusting too, but I am willing to let that slide as it is so inconsistant.
I like bloodbloom a lot, it can enables a fun combo like Void Contract (Pretty bad example, but it was great anyway). So I wished Darkest Hour didn't exist.
I like the nerfs suggestion, but I guess Blizzard will still go in the simple route and increase the cost alot...
And I just noticed something. We all thought Darkest Hour is a packfiller, turns out it's preeeetty insane.

It is pack filler in Standard. There isn't enough support. There are no Bloodbloom cards in Standard. Most people don't rate cards for Wild. I tend to look at cards in both formats, but focus on Standard, as most do on these forums.
No card ever released will simply stay pack filler in Wild. Some of the most strange and obscure and unplayable cards in Standard end up being combo pieces in Wild. It's not that Darkest Hour is bad or good, its that Nerubian Unraveller prevents any counter play. The Unraveller is an unplayable card normally. It's not even a good Arena draft card. But it counters board clears and that one purpose makes it work in very specific and narrow decks.
Darkest Hour is not a good card without the support around it. Even if Bloodbloom was legal in Standard right now, there aren't enough large minions that auto win you the game. There is no Lich King, Kel'thuzad or Y'saarj. On top of that there is no Unraveller card to prevent your opponent from wiping your board with a single card. There is also no 5 drop 5/7 minions with Charge in Standard.
Hagatha's scheme, Brawl and Mass Hysteria being played the turn after means you auto lose. The card ONLY works in Wild.
Darkest hour OP! Forget bloodbloom make Darkest Hour like 8+ cost its nuts. Turn 5 I had to deal with like 6 strong legendaries... which was impossible to do.. concede!
Blizzard has announced several times that they are watching Barnes. I expect him to be nerfed to 6 mana. Bloodbloom will end up costing 4, maybe 5 mana because of how degenerate it is with late game spells. Voidcaller is another degenerate card and I hope Blizzard nerfs that together with Barnes and bloodbloom, make voidcaller 5, maybe 6 mana.
Barnes=6 mana, Bloodbloom=4 mana, voidcaller=5 mana and call it a day!
I think the real issue with mana cheating is you need counter play to make it ok to exist. Counter play for some mana cheats is silence or weapon removal. Other ways to counter play is transform effects like Hex.
Other times, mana cheats like this one, give you a very wide board that will win the you the game next turn if not dealt with. If you are in a class that cannot board clear on turn 5, you lose. How many decks can do that?
But the Unraveller, makes the interaction and answer impossible on turn 5 or 6.
If Hearthstone is ok with big mana cheating in the game, then they also need better board clear cards in order to have counter play. Without those answers, then Mana Cheating cards like Barnes and now Darkest Hour will always be a problem in Wild.
I think bloodbloom is the problem. Lost to a few warlock control deck that had the combo incase they go into fatigue. I even played against a magic carpet zoo deck that had the bloodbloom emperor mecha thun combo in it. thought i won when he drew his last card and only 5 cards left in hand. it not fun playing 20 min against control deck then you think you win just to die to the combo.
I agree that Darkest Hour Warlock is exceptionally strong. But I would like to remind you that before this deck came to existence, almost nothing can consistently beat Big Priest in Wild (as far as I know, only Malygos Shaman beats Big Priest). I personally enjoyed crushing Big Priests with this Warlock. I hope they can resolve the Barnes issue no later than nerfing Warlock.
Why the F are we talking about dh warlock while big priest still exists. Darkest hour is an annoying high roll, but Big priest.
Edit also if you play aggro and play around defile darkest hour almost always loses. It's like turn four if the bloom scheme darkest hour then they are just dead. I can't say the same for big priest with spirit lash turn 4 Barnes.
I dont know if they will change it. Big Priest is all about mana cheating and got never touched...it got even worse.
When the Bloodbloom mechanic works in a game its really boring to play against. But since i meet 40% of my games Big Priests i dont care that much for Bloodbloom.
Big Priest is much worse as manna trap sincerely Warlock is the only class that can fight against that deck. Just use tech cards to counter, don't need a nerf. The only nerf would be Voidcaller.
In addition aggro decks beat you fast for example the mech hunter in wild.

I like elementals and totems.

OP, who is a "Card Design Champion" (lul), hypothesized there would be a nerf to the DH Warlock deck back in April. He was WRONG.
Let this misguided thread die already.
We will probably see Barnes nerfed long before bloodbloom because that card is a far bigger problem and sees far more play.
i play that deck a lot and i get crushed a lot with my win rate is 67% i love this deck
