Okay I know Silence Priest has been a thing for a long time and it's very much a class identity but hear me out.
The most important cards in the new Silence Priest deck are good ol' Ancient Watcher (2-mana Yeti), the brand new Ancient Watcher (3-mana 5/6), and the all-important Dalaran Librarian (River Crocolisk w/ "Silence adjacent minions"). And these are all neutral class cards. (Faceless Rager and Sunfury Protector are also good neutral-class synergistic cards that are run in some versions of the deck!)
Please note, I do understand that the Priest-specific 0-mana Silence and 4-mana Unsleeping Soul (silence, then copy) are fantastic cards in this deck, as well as double Divine Spirit into Inner Fire/Topsy Turvy for a very cool high-roll.
So I wanted to ask the community, what other classes do you think could pull off a Silence-themed deck with those eight-to-ten cards (optional Sunfury) as a base? We're not trying to build a tier-1 deck, but maybe something could make it work.
First (bad) ideas:
Paladin...? The loss of Divine Favor makes it really hard to think of any kind of good draw engine, but you know, summoning an overstatted minion, then silencing it and buffing it to high heaven just sounds awesome!
Warlock! This is a heavily minion-based strategy, and noone's better at that than Warlock! Inifinite draw is cool, and the new Rafaam is always good fun for when a zoo deck runs out of steam. Plot Twist in particular fishes for the best cards you want, although it is to be noted that Watchers won't usually work with Fel Lord Betrug. Such a shame.
Priest also has Silence and Unsleeping Soul, which is a huge deal. Running a "can't attack" package in any other class is just asking for a handful/board full of dead cards.

Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Maybe for mage as a budget variant? Mage and spell damage go hand in hand so that new 5/6 neutral can be activated more reliably. Mage also has decent draw to find the silence minions. There are more silences in neutral cards, I honestly like running owl in my shaman deck because it does bait out some kind of removal while neutralizing a threat. Even as simple as costing a mage 2 mana on next turn to ping it. So yeah, maybe build a deck around that with cheap spells and freezes for stall? I barely play mage so I have no idea if this could work, but in theory it sounds decent and if casual wasn't swarmed with netdeck farmers it would be fun to try.
Just wanted to say that I play a version of this in Hunter and it's a lot of fun in Casual. Tracking and Master's Call help you find your missing pieces, but the neutral cards carry the day and are obviously stronger in other classes. I've only played a handful of games so I haven't tried to optimize things yet (e.g. don't think I'll keep Flare), but here's what I'm running:
2x Tracking 2x Ancient Watcher 1x Bloodmage Thalnos 2x Dalaran Librarian 2x Flare 2x Sunfury Protector 1x Youthful Brewmaster 2x Arcane Watcher 2x Faceless Rager 2x Ironbeak Owl 2x Master's Call 2x Defender of Argus 2x Marked Shot 2x Soldier of Fortune 2x Spellbreaker 1x Harrison Jones 1x Mojomaster Zihi
A long time ago warlock played ancient watchers, and i forgot who, 4 mana 7-7 maybe statue, but i can be mistaken. It was old handlock, they are taunting them with argus and sunfury protectors after that, they used giants and moltens, when you low on health, and jaraxxus. And after some time handlock find new toy - 4 mana 1-1 and copy 7-7 stats.
But it was a loooooooooooooong time ago, now we have so many power creeps and just big taunts who can't attack it's shity choice. Even silence priest bad deck other will be worse.
@Rang_Dipkin That looks pretty cool too. What do you think of adding Zuljin and a pair of the Wyvern-calling card?
I think you could definitely include a Zul'jin package for long games. I went with Zihi originally because I wanted to keep things in the mid-game so I could finish 'em off with the silence package just because I wanted to play with those cards at first.
However, Unleash the Beast is a great card and anytime you can get cards like that into your deck it's probably going to improve the build. I think you'd replace 2x Marked Shot, 2x Flare and 1x Youthful Brewmaster with 2x Unleash the Beast, 2x Animal Companion, and maybe 1x Archivist Elysiana to get the most use out of Zul'jin. The reason to include Elysiana would be to rebound after Zul'jin replays 1 or 2 copies of Tracking in case it mills your deck.
Imo silence is a very stupid lackluster strat that just enables earlier highroll with priest if the get divine/inner fire early. It's like someone playing a 10/10 vancleef on 3 or 4....oooo such skill, wow.
Silence Hunter feels odd. Mage has so many better minion based options than silencing over stated minions right now. Same with pal.
Im trying to think if there is a reason for druid to try silence strats. Rogue and Warrior are definite nos.
Shaman has its own class silence card to support that kind of build. So after lock, id probably test shaman stuff.
I feel like im forgetting a class...priest, lock, mage, pal, hunter, rogue, shaman, warrior, druid nvm mentioned them all.
Just shit all over a silence priest in my first test lmfao
Totally agree, which is why it appealed to me. Similar to your Hakkar builds, I like trying to force every archetype into Hunter to have fun in Casual with my limited, Hunter-centric, collection (deck-building is my favorite aspect of HS and I quickly disliked aggro/beast Hunter builds). Any thoughts on improving a Silent Hunter?
I'd start with this and adjust a little after playing. I looked at your list above. Master's call is trash in nonbeast decks. 3 mana to pull one minion to your hand and not the board...no thanks! Mojo is good for any deck that only has 4 and less minions. I usually run flare in my zuljin deck but not a fan of it here. You added in bloodmage for arcane watcher synergy is cool. I think adding in defensive secrets is good for they can not even trade with your board. I know you added brewmaster to bounce silencers but i don't like it. Marked shot is a good spell if you are actually losing board somehow but not something i'd start with. My list could use more card draw but i definitely wouldnt use masters call. Likely I'd add a minion with dr or bc draw a card.

Haha, agreed, the low hanging fruit just doesn't do it for me either. This past month I actually played more ladder than I have in over a year after seeing the Chaos Control Hunter on here because it looked/was fun and seemed/was too strong for Casual.
And I agree with a lot of your reactions to my original list. I wanted to play 1) some of the new cards like Marked Shot; 2) counter some of the early predictions surrounding Secret Pally by playing Flare; and 3) in a really small sample, ended up with a number of dead boards/hands so I forced even more options for getting Dalaran Libraian via Youthful Brewmaster and Master's Call. But I totally agree that MC is terrible value in (non-beast decks in) general and I like the idea of including a weapon to keep up the pressure plus synergize with secrets that punish removing your big minions. I also liked Harrison Jones initially for the card draw, but most of the weapons being played only have 1 swing left by the time you can play your removals so swamp ooze seems like the better choice. Ogre Magi is also a nice inclusion that I hadn't considered and I could see Mukla being valuable althought I don't have him yet.

@Kaladin Yea, thanks and all, but I already knew about Silence and Unsleeping Soul. Read the post, that wasn't the point :/
@Ivydoom that sounds like fun! I had tried a spell damage mage once but a silence package with freeze sounds cool (pun intended)
@Rang_Dipkin That looks pretty cool too. What do you think of adding Zuljin and a pair of the Wyvern-calling card?
I second Mage for Spell Damage (it can be used with spells as well to either protect or finish off),
Warlock (Handlock, however bad, is already using the Watcher).
Additionally, for the same reason as Mage, i would consider Rogue.
A long time ago warlock played ancient watchers, and i forgot who, 4 mana 7-7 maybe statue, but i can be mistaken. Ooooh I like the Rogue idea. Spellpower Rogue with a self-Silence package? Think of all the value with Fan of Knives, Shiv... Headcrack (kappa).
And Cheap Shot. Yikes.
I think you could definitely include a Zul'jin package for long games. I went with Zihi originally because I wanted to keep things in the mid-game so I could finish 'em off with the silence package just because I wanted to play with those cards at first.
